Except for the main bar at a JW resort property not opening until 4 PM on a Friday... everything was great.

This bar is located off the lobby in the JW Marriott! When conferences are in session, the lobby bar is super busy and loud! Hard to hear people sitting or standing across from you. The bar is located on the bottom floor, below lobby entrance. You can order at the bar or through a server at a table. The bar does offer a lot of drink: their speciality cocktail is a prickly pear margarita! They also feature tequilas: and some very expensive ones! See pictures for these high end drinks!

New drink they were testing out!

My husband and I went here last night for a drink cause I'd never been to this hotel before and I wanted to see it! I ordered a desert flower drink, it had gin and elderflower. Was extremely strong, as gin drinks often are haha. My husband got a beer. One of the bartenders was telling us how they had their 20th anniversary of being a hotel soon so some limited menu drinks were being made! He had us try one of the drinks. It was like a Paloma with mezcal, one of my faves. It was a special mezcal too, had a really good smokey flavor. My husband isn't big on mezcal or grapefruit but he actually said it was pretty good too! Really fun experience here, glad we checked it out.

This swanky little lounge inside the JW Marriott Desert Ridge was beautiful and a great place for people watching on a Saturday night. The drinks were awesome...try the espresso martini! They also have a happy hour food menu. The chicken empanada was decent but my favorite was the tres leches cake. Great bartenders, and also dog friendly! I'd recommend grabbing a drink here and taking it out onto the gorgeous patio by the water. Great date night idea!

    Beautiful setting!

Solid light dinner and wine! Caesar salad was split for 2 without us requesting! Fried calamari included tentacles which I consider essential. Charcuterie platter was fresh and had huge wedge of blue cheese plus humbolt fog cheese and havarti. Mustard, olives, fig jam plus candied nuts provided just the additional touch needed. Wine was also tasty and reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised at how excellent it was and service was an added bonus. We will return!

We sat in the lounge area. So comfortable. I loved that there is a tv there and large table. The service was great. I had the prickly pear margarita- delicious and my boyfriend had the Kentucky buck- DELICIOUS, perfect hint of lemon. It was amazing. We also ordered wings that were delicious. Chicken sandwich and burger. Very good.

So, major sleeper here at the JW desert ridge. Hotel is actually really good, but the highlight is the OVER 300 BOTTLE selection of bourbon, rye, whiskey, and scotch. If absolutely amazing collection of rare pours. Come check it!

Trio of bruschetta ($18) -lump crab and avocado; Brie and apple; eggplant hummus and greens. Good but not worth $18 (hotel prices)

Located inside the JW Desert Ridge, the food at twenty6 is overpriced as you would expect for a hotel bar, but the happy hour (2-5pm daily) is pretty good. During happy hour, they have $6 margaritas (too sweet), sangria, wine, and beer. The deviled eggs ($8 during happy hour) were very good, but still a little pricey. You're really paying for the nice seats and atmosphere. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. During the day you can watch birds - I saw one tearing a part a smaller bird on one of the chairs, which was an unusual but interesting experience... On one last note, the JW Marriott "signature beer" is actually quite nice. It's a kolsch, made by a local brewery and has some nice honey flavors. I would get that again if I came back.

We've been coming here for the past 3 years, it's a wonderful spot to relax, to enjoy good food and drinks while the kids can play and run around on the lawn. The Artisan board is our go to snack! The staff is always very friendly which is wonderful!!

Bloody Mary as created by our awesome waiter!
    McKenzie S.

Twenty6 is the main lobby area bar where you're bound to meet up with friends to grab a drink before heading out for the night. Just make sure to order the right drinks. The Twenty6 Margarita is a for sure drink you should order. The prickly pear syrup makes it so much more than your regular old margarita. The Bloody Mary was definitely the best I had while at the hotel, but definitely not near what the greatness of other places in Phoenix like Carly's. The biggest drawback for Twenty6 is the price. Is VERY expensive for a bar. Which is to be expected for a JW Marriott, but a little shocking when you get the bill. Opt for the Happy Hour (if they have it). Call the concierge to double check the hours.

There is parking on the street or in the lot. We weren't familiar with the area so it was a bit tricky to find. It is located in the back of a coffee shop. I got a nice fruity cocktail that was sweet. I enjoyed it. Everything was reasonably priced. All of our drinks were pretty glittery, it made everything really pretty. Before getting into that I'll talk about the drinks. Pretty good and reasonably priced. Nothing to gimmicky about them and would definitely return to try other options. The bar setting itself was nice! I truly appreciate the speakeasy feel- walking through a mystery door phone booth was a good welcome to this bar. Small on the inside, but had a classy but casual feel. Since we did the murder mystery there was also a preset menu which was cool. The food was okay, but will be returning back for the drinks more than the food. The murder mystery game was a nice way to get everyone in the bar involved. Essential a real like clue or who done it game. Very interesting but also can be a bit distracting if your goal was to come out and have some drinks and peace out at your leisure. While it is a very cool idea, I feel that more customers would be able to come and go on these days and not be turned out because a reservation was not made. All in all, will return on another night to try more drinks

Hula's does have happy hour deals every day, but the weekend deals are limited to drinks only (weekdays include some food options). Some of our group ordered discounted drinks, and between the 9 of us, we got a solid assortment of items, ranging from mai tais and longboards to potstickers and loco moco, and even a teriyaki chicken kids meal. Understandably, the food took a bit with our party size, but everything was coordinated came out pretty much at the same time. The loco moco was definitely a group favorite (good burger patty) while the mac salad was probably our least favorite component (lacking in salt and flavor). To zhush up my loco moco a bit, I asked our server for some hot sauce, and was brought their Madagascar hot sauce. Woooo-wee that was hot! But it was fun to pass the sauce cup around the table so we could all try some. It was definitely on the spicy side, even for us spice lovers, but tasty. Overall, we had a nice experience at Hula's and we're glad to have had a comfortable place for us all to catch up!

I've passed by Blue Martini many of times. It always seems to be the most hype spot on High Street, a nice entertainment district in Desert Ridge. I finally took the plunge and checked it out on a Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. Parking is easy (and free) on the street, in the surface lots, or the garage on High Street. Ambiance (3.5/5): Blue Martini is definitely a bit bougie and caters to that audience. There's a nice outdoor patio which is where we sat since the weather was beautiful. There's a bar outside and waiter service. I briefly looked inside and there's a bar inside too, lounge sitting, and a dance floor. Blue Martini often has live music or a DJ. Definitely a spot where you can break it down on the dance floor. There's bottle service too if that's your thing. Service (2/5): Talk about slow service! It took our waitress longer than it should have for us to greet us. After placing an order for drinks, we received them promptly. After that we didn't see her again for quite a while. I wanted to order a second cocktail and she was nowhere to be found. Eventually she came around and I placed my order. I decided to close out right then and there knowing that it would take a long time to track her down to close out if I didn't do it right then and there. They also charge two fees amounting to 5%. Not sure what that's all about. Food (N/A): While they do have food, I just had drinks since I was there pretty late. I view Blue Martini as more of a drinks spot, but I can't comment on the food. They have a daily happy hour with discounts on select food items. Drinks (3.5/5): If the name isn't a dead giveaway, Blue Martini specializes in martinis. Beyond martinis, they have a large cocktail list. Plus everything else you'd find with a full bar. The drinks are a bit pricey (it is a see and be seen type of spot after all and you're likely to see old geezers pulling up in Lambos and Ferraris), but I liked the selection. I started off with the Blue Martini, their namesake. It's served with a blue glow stick. From there, I had the strawberry basil martini. Both were pretty good. Not speakeasy quality cocktails but better than your average bar for sure. While Blue Martini isn't really my scene, I can have a good time anywhere. If you're looking to turn up and dance, it's a good spot for that. And it's also elite for people watching.
