How fun is this place?! I love Mesa more and more each time I visit. This week my niece was in town and I was looking for somewhere fun I could take her. One of the great things about Level 1 is that kids are allowed on as long as they are supervised by an adult and it's before 7pm. It is a bar so the night scene is very different. There are a few arcades close to me, but there are so many more game options here and with the second level there is much to choose from. Service was great, they have an atm so you don't have to go elsewhere if you don't have cash, most games are between a quarter or a dollar. Of coming to drink there is a full bar on both levels. We had a great time. My favorite by far is the Metallica pinball or of course your old school Nintendo options like Burger Time, Excite Bike and more.

2 story arcade bar. We sat the level 1 bar for a while and didn't get any service but the bartender was quick to visit w her friends instead of helping us. We ventured upstairs where most of the games were. Service was quick at the upstairs bar even though I had to ask for the rainbow candy that was supposed to be in my drink. Games are 1 token except for the pinball machines, which were 4 tokens. There are other arcade bars that I would venture to and recommend due to lack of service.

You know it's going to be a legendary night when your main competition at darts is a rogue fan blowing your aim off because, apparently, even the air wants you to lose. So, there we were, bar hopping around DT Mesa like pros, when someone casually mentioned, "Hey, there's an arcade upstairs at this underground speakeasy." Challenge accepted. Now, let me tell you, playing darts after a few drinks is a whole different sport. Did we break some dart tips? Absolutely. Did my buddy somehow manage to launch darts behind the machine like some kind of ninja? Without a doubt. And yes, we definitely tried blaming the fan for our poor aim because who else can you blame when your darts have a mind of their own? It was hilarious. Meanwhile, Mike D., aka The Darts King and also Mr. Friendliest 2018 (go add him), is still sitting on his throne. Honestly, I'm getting tired of his reign. I need to snatch that crown! This spot is legit, though. They have a handful of games, a well-stocked bar, and cozy tables where you can chill. That night, there was even a nearly-wedded couple with their whole crew hanging out. Super chill vibes. Yeah, I'm coming back.

Pretty cool spot for a drink and to play some arcade games. Bartenders were friendly and so was the person who was checking ID's at the door. We hung out upstairs and the back patio. Drinks are fairly priced.

Came here to play darts and celebrate my partner's birthday. Not our first time and def not our last. Darts, shots, and some bar food. Was pleasantly surprised by the chicken quesadilla we shared (LARGE). The bartender was super sweet and overheard us talking about my boyfriend's birthday and offered him a free birthday shot which was thoughtful! Darts are great there as they have 4 individual dart boards and plenty of room for everyone to shoot. Sick pinball machines upstairs. It was about 2pm and not super busy since the night crowd wasn't quite in yet. Parking out back was still tight though. Vibes are nerdy and immaculate

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Friday night. The 1st level was not very busy, so we decided to grab some drinks and food. We sat at the bar, and had to wait some time before being acknowledged, despite the fact that there were 2 to 3 bartenders at the bar. The food was great, we got the pretzel, which was surprisingly very soft and warm. The wings and the fried pb and j were also tasty. The fried pickles were over fried, so it just ended up drying them out. The place itself is very cool, lots of games to play. The service is what really put a dent in the experience. I love the flight deck I got, but it was hard to get a bartender to take our order. On top of that, they don't seem to have alot of knowledge on the beers they serve. I asked for a mix of IPAs for my flight, and the bartender seemed confused. My husband was trying to close out, and it took at least 20 to 30 minutes to even get anyone to pay attention. This place is great, but the service really needs improvement.

Cocktails tasted great my friend said and as a non cocktail drinker myself I tried the toasty one and it tasted like hot chocolate kinda liked it they have a decent size amount of pinballs but a handful don't work or a lot have stick buttons and the screens don't indicate when you've inserted coins so you kinda go threw a trust the system know there coins even if the screen doesn't change , and the top floor of the place smelled like piss. Ok spot I still think yucca tap rooms pinball area is better

Super cute bar areas throughout! Service is friendly and quick. They have darts, arcade, bar seating and patio! Even a hidden gem downstairs! . Cute lighting for photos too. Pricing for drinks is good too.

My favorite local bar! Been coming since they opened up! Always a nice chill time, my fav drink is their scorpion colada! I am yet to try their food, but sure it's delicious, just like their drinks! Lots of arcade games! Music can be a bit better I think! Otherwise my fav place!

Me and my friends were treated horribly here! We checked out this place on a Saturday night for the first time and the service was not great. We got there by 6:30pm/7pm and it wasn't packed. We waited over 10 minutes just to get one drink. She was serving people that got there after us first. When the bartender finally acknowledged us, she was rude and had an attitude. After, we went to check out upstairs, she followed us and went to tell the other bartender at the upstairs bar about us when I'm not sure why. She even went as far as to tell the guy outside for the speakeasy to not let us in either. The rest of our time there, she continued to be rude and continued to not serve us. We kept trying to get her attention so we can order more drinks and give the place business but she ended up kicking us out for no reason! We were never rude to her, never gave her attitude, never yelled at her or anything. She was the one wearing a referee costume and had short black hair and was about maybe 5'5? The place was really cool and we were excited to check it out but her bad attitude and very bad service ruined our experience!!!

I'm pretty positive this is my new favorite place. Wish it opened up an hour earlier on weekdays but oh well. Games are great, pin ball is great. Outdoor area is great. Beer selection is more than great. Staff is nice. Food is yummy. Love being able to come here after work for a drink and some games. They have a mystery bag you Can get for 5.50 and it's gotta mystery beer and 4 tokens in it every time!

Great selection of pinball and arcade games!

Loved visiting this Arcade and Bar! We were treated so nicely by all the staff, including the door host - pictured with my review! He was so friendly and made sure we knew all the details and helped us to have a great visit. Tons of games, plenty of good food, and two stories of fun! 10/10 would recommend. We are planning our next trip to Level One for the Bloody Mary brunch - heard great things about it!

The place was less than half full when we walked in. The hostess was friendly, and we were seated at the bar. That's where the experience started going downhill. Several bartenders were working, yet not one acknowledged us not a greeting, not eye contact for an uncomfortably long time. I get it if you're busy, but common courtesy like "we'll be right with you" takes two seconds. Basic hospitality shouldn't be optional in a service job, especially at a place trying to position itself as "upscale." When we were finally able to place our drink order, we waited even longer. It got to the point where we were about to cancel altogether. The only reason our drinks even got made is because a customer of one of the bartenders sat down next to us and suddenly, all of our drinks were made at the same time. So if you know the staff, apparently you won't be waiting. My Old Fashioned was mediocre at best. Unbalanced and not worth the time or price. After last call, the bartenders vanished to close out tables, leaving us stranded and still waiting to pay. We had no intention of camping out for over an hour for a single round. I eventually had to get up and track someone down just to close out the tab. This place has potential, but the service was indifferent at best, borderline neglectful at worst. If you're going to charge premium prices and sell a curated experience, you actually have to deliver one.

If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. Not a bad speakeasy by any means, I have super high standards when it comes to these watering holes. Just not in my top five when it comes to speakeasies in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

I had been waiting what felt like an eternity to try out this disco-themed speakeasy! Disco balls,…read morelots of moving lights, swanky vibes, groovy music, and attentive and intelligent servers! Love it! I started out with a cocktail - the Mega Viral! Once you try it, you will understand the name. One of the more innovative cocktails I have ever had... and I ended up having two! So delicious and an experience in itself!! We enjoyed some light bites as well - the Edamame Hummus and Shishito Peppers. Both were fantastic! I love that their menu points out which items are gluten-free... and our server even warned me that the plantain chips in the Edamame Hummus could have cross-contamination... so I very much appreciate that heads up! I opted to order them anyway and I am so glad I did - so good! And I experienced no gluten issues. Awesome! I'm already looking forward to a return trip! I love the giant disco balls and the aesthetic of this place. We started with the appletini and lemongrass highball (non-alcoholic). My friend and I ended up switching drinks because we liked each other's more than our own. For the second round, we ordered the brandy spritz and primrose martini. We weren't fans of the brandy spritz, although my friend grew into it. The primrose martini was quite good, I liked it better than the appletini. For snackies, we ordered the glizzy gaunlet, which was basically a tower of carbs. It came with 5 mini dogs with milk bread, and potato wedges. There were 3 sauces, my favorite in order were the: truffle dijonnaise, kosho aioli, and korean ketchup. We enjoyed this more than the food at Filthy Animal. Although it was pricey ($22) for just carbs and hardly any protein. The milk bread was delicious and the mini dogs were pretty good too. The potato wedges were cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would I return? Probably not. The food was better than the drinks but it wasn't outstanding.
