What a cool venue! We rented a private room for a group of 20. Food was great. Service was a little slow but when they were present they were very helpful. H the food was very good. Loved the nachos - lighter and crispier than a typical preparation. The ahi tostados were also amazing. The pasta and meatballs were decent, but only two small meatballs? The drinks are presented beautifully! The overall vibe is totally fun. Definitely coming back.

My husband goes to Mox Boarding House every week with his friends and while we were out, we were nearby and it was the perfect excuse to stop by and check it out! We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty busy, we didn't have to wait for a table and they had plenty of helpful staff, but clearly a popular spot and perfect option for the family, date or with friends. They have an EXTENSIVE collection of games, definitely one of the more well rounded game stores I have been to and it's very well organized. Not only do they sell games, but they have a great game library for you to take advantage of while visiting. The staff is super helpful and able to suggest a few games that fit what you are looking for, and also offer help if you do need a bit of assistance learning the game. Bonus, if you love the game you played you can buy a brand new addition for 15% off. We were sat in their main dining area and got a round of drinks and appetizer to enjoy while we played our game.

Came to Mox last Sunday for a lil "rainy" game day with friends. Great place to get snacks, drinks, and play games! It can get packed but they put us in a lil booth around the corner where we could chill away from the cacophony. They have a full bar and full menu with gluten free options! They have a room full of board games, MTG, DND supplies for sale. The service is great and they are also super involved in gaming world so they were fun to talk to about our MTG game. The tables are nice and long to accommodate game play and snacks. They also host MTG draft nights and competitive nights and you can order MTG cards to be delivered there- will need to try! We did get talked to about not being allowed to bring our own water bottles in. And then it was kinda hard flagging people down for more water at our table, but other than that we had a great time and will be coming back! And I'll take more pics next time to capture the vibes.

Food and drinks were mediocre at best. The only "cool" part about the whole place are the games. You can play for hours etc. Everyone in my party was also not impressed by the food and it seems over priced for what you get. I doubt that I would be back.

Pro-tip: It's free to play the games from there check out counter and you can even bring your own. If you end up buying any of the games that you play while you are there, you get 15% off the game. Highlights: Such a great place to hang out and play board games. I think the service is really exceptional, they always come by to refill your water even if you've finished with your meal and are still continuing to play games. They never make you feel like you need to leave. The ambience is great, they have a separate section for trivia nights. Lots of games to try from. The food is pretty good as well. Lowlights: I thought the food was a tad expensive, but I think it's because you can stay as long as you want and play board games. I would have liked more pretzel bread for the sausage and pretzel board.

Mox Boarding Has has become my favorite board game place in Arizona! The staff is so friendly and super knowledgeable. Everyone is so helpful and just really fun to talk to. The food - some of the food is a bit on the pricier end, but our group loved all the food we got. The Hot Honey Chicken is a fried chicken sandwich and the chicken is juicy and soft. The potato dippers are a mix between a potato wedge and potato chip and it's really good. The Tavern Mac and Cheese was so creamy and flavorful. The Il Paradiso melts in your mouth! The Apple Cobbler Bread Pudding was not too sweet and just delicious and easy to share. They have board games you can check out for free. The library might be a bit smaller than some of the other board games places, but it's free to play as of right now! They also do a lot of events and have card games, roleplaying games miniatures and more! It's a fun place to hang out and check out new games.

Fun game of Red Flag It was recommended by an experienced employee. Good choice.

Stumbled on this place accidentally! It got great reviews but I wasn't sure if the food would be good because it was a "game"type restaurant. I thought it was for kids, but it's actually more for adults. We weren't sure what to expect. Very friendly people there to help. They have a full bar, menu and large selection of games to play at your table. If you like board and/or card games, this place is for you! The service was a little slow, perhaps understaffed? The food was really good!! Much better than I expected it to be! My husband loved the burger and I got the Eggplant sandwich......sooooo good and huge. Salads were fresh and tasty. The Mac and cheese is delicious. The only thing I would warn against is the fried Mac and cheese appetizer ! Just get the side dish, it's much better. The fried Mac and cheese was so salty!! We ended up meeting our friends there and they played a couple of games with us. It was a fun night. We will be back!

Awesome place for game nights with family and friends! You can borrow games they have available or you can bring your own. Any games that you borrow and end up wanting to buy it will be 15% off There are tons of seating around the restaurant and the retail area. They have private rooms too which cost $20 per hour to rent out. Evan was so great at explaining a game we chose to play. He was so patient and came back a few times to check up on us to see if we had any questions! Thank you Evan! The food was good too. We got the green chili chorizo burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and the apple cobbler bread pudding. We spent a good amount of time there and they constantly came into refill our waters. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place for a board game night.

Amazing place to spend time and play board games with friends. there's large tables for bigger groups as well as booths. Food is great as well. The good: You can play games for hours! The store front provides game rentals for no cost! There's a discount if you end up buying it when you leave Lots of space! They refill water throughout our 4 hours there. Waiters and servers are very nice and encouraging. Gamemaster, Evan was so patient and explain the game we wanted to play throughly and came back around multiple times to help explain the game! Food and desert was pretty good, though it wasn't really my focus. The bad: not any major negatives as I really enjoyed my time here.

Had a good experience here. Was able to get a private room & the boardgames we got were in decent shape. Waitress offered to pre-split an order I intended on sharing which was nice! The food itself was also good.

Meuy B.

The set up, drinks, food and service was 10/10! They have smaller rooms to rent if you want a private gameplay.

There is a parking lot and indoor/outdoor seating. I love the decor and ambiance of this place, especially the lighting in the dining room. They have a separate area with a small shop and cafe with desserts and some grab and go items. I will be back to try a coffee! My friend and I came here for the pre-set restaurant week menu. I made a reservation the night before, but it wasn't too busy while we were there on a Tuesday at 530pm. Our server Allison was great and very attentive. For appetizers we tried the whipped goat cheese spread and wagyu meatballs. I thought the goat cheese spread was delicious! For entrees we choose the pasta pomodoro and the farmers market pizza which were both very tasty. The pizza had so much flavor l, especially the crust, and the texture of the pasta was perfect!! For dessert we tried the affogato and apricot cheesecake. Oh My Gosh that cheesecake was the BEST dessert I've had in a while!!!! You have to try it and I can't recommend it enough!!!! When I arrived and spoke with spouse he had already been waiting 20+ minutes. When I checked in with hostess to see if there had been any changes I was promptly schooled that "he was told "XYZ" and there's one table ahead of us still... I disregarded that vibe, figured because it was "busy" or because it was "Saturday evening" and everywhere is busy... I felt the senior hostess was curt when I inquired about the status of our wait, so I tried to brush it off. Just inefficient all the way around. From seating and neglecting to ask about seating preference (could there have been a shorter wait?), initial greeting by server, or was it a bus boy?, beverage order and wait for food. Couldn't even get a full glass of water poured or full carafe brought to the table while we waited for service. It was all very disappointing and I feel completely led astray by the ratings and reviews. I truly can not believe we waited 1 1/2 hrs just to be seated so we could eat pizza. Oh, but wait! It's pizza on 130 year old sourdough yeast?! Whatever. The pizza was alright, but the entire experience certainly didn't improve the taste of the pizza. Tourist trap? Maybe. Trendy? Because it's located in downtown Chandler? And then there's the parking scenario. If you're staying at the San Marcos or the other hotel downtown, walking here will be quicker than trying to find a parking spot. Carpool would be my other suggestion because parking really is a premium. And I want to add, the hostess never came to let us know a table was ready. We were only offered a table when my son went in to check the status. Only then did he get asked if we would be open to outdoor seating. Maybe Brunch has something more to offer. IDK. But I'm certainly not inclined to recommend or dine here again.

Nestled in historic downtown Chandler, in the narrow sliver of Boston Street, the speak-easy themed cocktail bar and restaurant is located inside the former home of the Chandler Arizonan, the city's original hometown newspaper since 1912. With exposed brick walls and rich wood finishes, the historic site provides an upscale, contemporary urban and industrial-chic setting. After easily finding parking in walking distance from the entrance, we arrived shortly before midnight of the 7th. They were closing soon, but we had enough time to order a round of craftly-made cocktails and beers to down quickly. It helps when your friend knows the bartender. Enter smiley face emoji here. THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN is credited for the first place that I ever tried a CLOVER CLUB, a pink, frothy cocktail with fruity, citrusy, velvety qualities. I was instantly tickled pink, literally, by the nostalgic feel of the elegant concoction, topped with artfully designed egg white foam and served in a vintage-style champagne glass. What a beauty of a drink with a touch of class and sophistication! Almost made me want to throw on a flapper dress and dance the Charleston...until I realized the need to balance from the powerful punch in the serious drink. Fancy, stiff cocktails served at THE BRICKYARD DOWNTWON fo shizz. No complaints about that here! It's been a while since I visited Arizona. Maybe it's time to return. She loves Alice in Wonderland. She was mistaken and thought it said Java not Kava. She thought Java Kava was a coffee lol So to my surprise when I get there, Kava is a dirt water that is very, very strong and pungent and not my cup of tea lol But besides that, this place is so hip and cool. The bartender was very, very informative and he let us know that they will give you your first dose of Kava for free to try it. I could not choke all of it down. My friend was a trooper goddess, and she choked the whole thing. I was so impressed by her I am very sensitive to things. I am a big baby sometimes so I did not drink the rest of mine because immediately I had a gag reflex going on lol So I did not drink the initial dose, but I ordered the Horchata beverage that had cover in it. And they have different doses, strengths and different styles of, so this is just what I ordered. It was the last light, on the menu he suggested for us. So even though I did not enjoy the Kava, it is not my jam. I would try it again lol I know that sounds crazy even after the strange tingling in my throat went away after everything I've said because I saw other people coming in and they had huge juicy type of Kava drinks and I was thinking well you know, maybe I'll come back and try the juicy, drink next time instead of focusing on this particular experience And the reason I say that is because the bartender was so great and informative and it is a fantastic vibe in there and it was busy enough for a weird Wednesday afternoon. So they have trivia karaoke all kinds of stuff throughout the week and I could see this being a really fun place. So if you like Kava, you should really come here. It is very fun. But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. All the flavors were well balanced and well thought out. They also had a girl singing tonight and she was amazing!!! Thanks for a nice relaxing night. This time was checking…read moreout a speakeasy located in the heart of downtown Gilbert on a Friday evening at 9 p.m. I parked for free on the street before making my way to The White Rabbit. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. Not a bad speakeasy by any means, I have super high standards when it comes to these watering holes. Just not in my top five when it comes to speakeasies in Phoenix and surrounding areas.
