Eggs and bacon part of my French toast combo

Went to Sugar Rush cafe with some friends that flew into town on a whim. They have been in Walnut for quite awhile but I had never been to this restaurant before. I got the cinnamon raisin French toast loaf with the candied bananas - I could eat a giant bowl of the warm bananas if given the option (haha). I don't usually use syrup on my French toast so I used the bananas as my syrup and they paired beautifully with the raisin French toast. The eggs were cooked as requested and big slices of bacon were provided. My husband got a burger to go and we tasted his fries (I don't normally eat fried food but those fries were GOOD). We have been back since and hope they reopen soon (after the NY!)

It's still one of our favorite breakfast or brunch places in Walnut. If you want fresh and delicious meals, then you are in the right place. We took our friends from out of state to have a big breakfast there, and they were impressed by the taste, presentation, and portion. They also liked their coffee and tea. The food was so good and we especially liked their hashbrowns, waffles, and sandwiches. The place is cozy and they have a huge menu and we liked the food we've tried so far.

Coming here now sucks because the food is very mid. We used to enjoy their special waffles but they got rid of it a long time ago. Now its overpriced Dennys quality food

Nice little cafe serving good breakfast. Was recommended this place by an old instructor and surely did not disappoint. Staff were all very friendly and helpful paired along the cozy ambiance of a cafe. Opted for their cinnamon raison french toast combo, steak & eggs, Iced Angelino. Everything was quite tasty. The only dislike was their "caramelized bananas" and iced angelino. The caramlized bananaes were essentially just sliced bananas and strawberries in a sweet syrup. The, coffee, on other hand, tasted like an ordinary coffee. But, nonetheless, everything else was quite satisfying.

Sugar Rush Cafe is a neighborhood gem that locals frequent. It is a small family owned business so you get delicious cooked meals without the overly inflated price. The owner is very nice and friendly. The restaurant is small with approximately 10 tables but it is very comfortable place for breakfast with friends and family. My favorite is their 2 Eggs Breakfast with choice of protein, which comes with their hash brown and a side of toast. Highly recommended!

Brunch for our last day in California. This place was a very close to our hotel and had good reviews. We arrive first thing I noticed where limited parking that was the only complaint of the visit. It was very comfy cozy inside the yellow wise made it very welcoming the server Came in that our drink order right away. We ordered raisin French toast and the chicken spinach melt area. I paired my sandwich with a caramel latte, which was worth every penny. I paid for it. Our food came out surprising real quick. We were very high. I would definitely visit again. Sidenote I would be cautious on parties larger than four or five because the place is small and shine.

    Sugar rush,

It's been a while since my first review, but I have visited several times since then. Sugar Rush Café was one of our local weekday lunch spots, but we've only been in the office 1 day a week for a long time, so my experiences have been fewer and further between. My most recent visit was the same experience that I've had in the past. The food is very good, you get large portions, and they serve breakfast all day. The service is fast, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's great. The staff rushes to get orders taken and prepared, but they're not overly friendly. The ladies in the kitchen take pride in the food they make, and it shows, but sometimes things are done so quickly that a request like "no onions" is missed. Also, the prices are a little more expensive than other similar places.

Looking for a local cafe and found Sugar Rush cafe close by the house. They have been established for 16 years and I didn't even know. First impression is always and usually right. My first thought as I came in the door was it's going to be okay. It's actually more than okay. This is mom and pop little cafe. Serving breakfast and lunch. Their hours of operation is short from 7am-2pm. It's a small cafe , just about 7-8 table inside only . No patio. It's kind of hidden between industrial offices and buildings. First thing I noticed, is that they are a bit dated but they kept the place clean and organized. Looks like the owners take pride in their operation and cafe. That is so important to have great food but a clean environment to enjoy too. And they got both. I enjoyed my breakfast and the latte. I spoke to the owner himself and he's super friendly. A very hard working guy. I'll definitely will go back again for my quick breakfast and latte.

This place is awesome! It can be missed if you drive too fast down Valley Blvd, so pay attention. Co-worker and I were craving diner food but the good kind of diner food. We came across this spot and gave it a try for lunch. Don't underestimate a smaller size establishment as you can be missing out on some really good service and food. We both got the grilled chicken spinach panini sandwich. I added the sweet potato fries and an Emerald Hot green tea. Sooooo gooood. The tea was tasty- cute tea pot with an infuser for the legit herbals. I added some honey and I was feeling my Friday! The sandwich had such good flavor with the spinach and grilled cheese added. Honestly, a very good Chicken sandwich. The service was attentive, good music, clean and fast- within my lunch hour so we were happy! We vowed to return for waffles and pancakes and service again. Such a friendly environment.

Found the waffle suit my taste !! Best so far around this area. They give good portion for the steak and eggs . But the sauce was too sour for me.and I wish my iced latte could be bolder . Definitely worth the penny I paid ,happy customer.

Don't over complicate it. The Sugar Rush Cafe is a super chill spot on Valley BLVD. Great place to meet with a friend before afternoon lectures. Be careful though! This place closes super early at 2:30. Food was solid, nothing that changed my life but tasted good nevertheless. The Milk tea I ordered came in a huge container though, probably the best milk tea to price ratio I've had in a minute. The interior and exterior are nothing to rave home about but the place is still inviting nevertheless. Our waitress was super cool also! Check this spot out with a friend.

There were plenty of parking as it's in a shared plaza. For the store, it's a moderate size but it was definitely busy at the time we went. For ordering, you'll need to order at the counter before sitting down. After browsing the menu, we decided on the pink vodka pasta and the rich miso pasta (Taiwanese sausage added). American Express is accepted as a payment option. The staff gave us a number to place on the table we sat at but we were free to grab any seat we liked. For seating, there were a few tables for parties of two and limited tables for bigger groups. Keep in mind if you need water or extra napkins, they'll have those near the bar seating. Both the Pink Vodka Pasta and Rich Miso Pasta exceeded our expectations! The miso pasta leans on the creamy side but pairs very well with the pink vodka pasta. The miso pasta didn't come with any protein by default, so we were glad that we added the Taiwanese sausage. Fun fact is that the meatball from the Pink Vodka Pasta is vegan! The portion size was super generous from both dishes and was beyond just two people. I wasn't expecting to discover pasta dishes that I'd consider as one of my favorites from this visit! I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.

I usually hit their San Marino spot, but this location still delivered the goods. The shop's a bit small inside, but service was nice. Grabbed my ride-or-die Koan-Im Oolong Latte and paired it with a donut from my favorite donut shop like I was assembling the perfect duo for a late night snack. The tea was lightly sweetened perfectly to my liking, smooth, and clearly crafted by someone who respects tea leaves more than I respect my sleep schedule. The cloud top was basically dalgona candy foam and felt like a bonus dessert after finishing the drink. Even with a lot of people waiing, service moved fast, in & out in about 7 mins. Quality tea, speedy service, and enough creamy foam happiness to make a milestone review feel deserved!! Highly recommend!!! Now for some poetry that's inspired my 1000th review: Warm glazed memories sift through my reverie. A pink box opened in the summer of 24. Days were bleak and hollow like a bakery shelf at closing. I saw the saddest eyes, soft as powdered sugar falling. Sweet like a dalgona cloud top koan-im oolong latte, but carrying a quiet ache no frosting could hide. That summer you saved me, like the first bite of something new when you thought you'd forgotten what butterflies felt like. The season changed and you suddenly disappeared.... just an empty pink box on the counter. Only crumbs remain now, where your strawberry-glazed humor used to melt into every moment like sugar on warm dough. My heart split like a jelly donut. Still, I'm grateful as the world is as it should be. I pass by the donut shop on 66 and smile. People think it's just about donuts. But once.... a long time ago, one saved my life. I was in denial this past year and have ordered from them a few more times, always thinking that each bad order was just a one-off, but always regretting paying for - yet again - a watery, flavorless $7 drink. Alas, I think it's safe to say that this may be my last time ordering from them. When I first tried ToroTea, I was convinced this was the best milktea shop in Southern California. It really was. However, this past year, I've noticed that the quality has been on a decline. For example, I was obsessed with their popcorn milk tea. Now, (according to the last two times I've ordered it) the drink hardly tastes like tea (or milk for that matter). I fell in love with ToroTea for their tea-forward drinks, but now, I can hardly taste the tea. Sipping their drinks tastes like drinking watered down milk with a whisper of tea. I was also obsessed with the Koan-Im milk tea, but that one tastes like water down milk with a slight cardboard (not even strong) flavor (hardly taste the tea). I feel bad because the service and ambiance are great- although, you can really tell people have moved on because there are hardly any lines or anyone chilling in the shop anymore. Thanks for the memories and delicious drinks years prior; best of luck on the other locations.

I'd say the baristas kind of keep to themselves though and aren't overly enthusiastic. But overall, still welcoming & nice! The atmosphere is simple with wood seating areas. I like it. However sitting for a long duration can be a little uncomfortable since there's not much back support, but luckily they have a basket with padded pillows to sit on. Recently they added tables along the corner nook area which is great! Aside from that they have little tray-like table tops to set your drinks on or laptops/books/etc; while working. There's also plenty of outlets which is a plus. Not to mention they always seem to have a good playlist goin' :) Oh! & they have outside seating as well underneath shaded umbrellas. My only complaint is it gets really hot in there during the hotter months. Especially since they're facing south and catch all the direct light early on in the day. Don't get me wrong, I love the natural lighting! It's just more prone to getting hotter & I'm not sure if they have A/C. At least it had an espresso shot for the caffeine fix and did not taste like the artificial banana. Nothing special there and stand out. For the interior, they had a few seating they primarily accommodated a few groups of four and two. I was able to grab a bench seat that had an outlet. However, there wasn't enough space for my laptop and the items I ordered. WiFi was available but it had a 90 minute limit. The store had a moderate noise level and stayed busy throughout the time that I was there. The service on the order was quick and they do bring it out to you. The store also has their own house espresso which was a medium dark roast. American Express is accepted as a payment option here. Overall, it was a decent work spot. If I come back, I'd prefer to try another drink and hope other pastries are available. Would recommend the biscoff cheesecake for those that want something sweet and the house coffee beans for those that like medium roasts.
