The Locals' Favorite. When I first moved to Bend about 80% of my 'coffee meetings' were suggested for here, and I can see why. Great vibe. Friendly local owners. Great patio and indoor seating. I stop in here at least once a week for a coffee drink and am never disappointed! The staff are friendly and efficient. Their espresso drinks are well made and never too sweet when flavored, which I love. They are open pretty late (8 or 9, I think?), awesome when I need some serious fuel for a late night project. There is a drive-thru, but I prefer to go inside and smell the beans-I do believe they roast on-site. And for some reason, the couple times I have used the drive-thru, service has been unusually slow-perhaps just coincidence! Strictly Organic has a wide variety of food options, which sets them apart from the traditional coffee shop offerings of just pastries and sweets, and the food is good; if not a little funky. I recently ordered a breakfast burrito to go, and later discovered once I opened the box, that it was not, in fact,a burrito-but a giant soggy taco instead! How to eat this beast without a fork was my challenge (a heads-up really would have been appreciated!), but I gladly persevered and enjoyed a delicious and hearty mixture of potatoes, eggs, veggies and bacon, and only ended up wearing a little of it! The coffee is good, the baked goods are great, and the options for vegan/veggie/meat eaters is nice. It's a good wholesome spot for a quick hot bagel sandwich or wrap or salad. Their compostable silverware and cups are awesome and appreciated! My -1 star is the surly staff. Not all of them mind you but some need to boost their customer service efforts. The tall woman with curly blonde hair was so sweet!! However, the barista who took my order literally sighed at me when I asked for "just a little foam" on my cappuccino. It didn't seem like a stressful request... The noise level from the steamers and pots and pans is definitely there, so it's not the place to have a quiet conversation. However, they keep the music low enough to not increase everyone's volume, which is awesome. It's also so nice they don't shout your name when your order is up. I love this place.. They have great coffee whether it's just drip or espresso or a flavored latte or mocha. Their selection of food is great and all the pastries I've had here have been delicious. But the reason I gave 3/5 is because of the drive thru on bond. I usually go to the old mill location but I discovered that they had a drive through at the bond street location! I was really excited to find this out because drive thru's are quick and sometimes I don't feel like finding parking or getting out of my car.. so I decided to try the drive through and when I got there there were 2 cars ahead of me.. the first car had been there for a min so I thought it would go by quick. Nope! It took a good 8+ mins for the first car to get their two drinks.. I thought maybe there was more drinks that I didn't see or something. Maybe it was a big order but then the second car got to the window and I have no idea what was going on but that took at least ten minutes.. I ended up backing out of then drive thru because I had to get to work! I spent 20 minutes in the drive thru for 2 cars.. when I backed out I had to wait at the light on the corner and when I drove by the car ahead of me was still at the window and when I looked inside the store no one was inside the coffee shop.. I have no idea why it was taking so long.. I've worked coffee drive thrus before and there is no reason for the drive thrus to take this long for 2 cars.. I saw they had a parking spot reserved for "drive thru waiting area" I'm guessing for when they get big orders so if I just happened to be behind two cars with large orders they should have told them to wait in the parking spot.. Needless to say, I was disappointed. And agitated. I waited 20 minutes for nothing and didn't get to have coffee that day. I know there are bigger problems in the world but in those 20+ mins I could have drove down the street, parked my car, went into another shop and got coffee. I'm still gonna come back cuz I still love this place and the coffee but I would not recommend going through the drive thru, unless you really have some time to kill.. read more

I don't mind sitting in line when a company is busy but my time is to valuable to do it so some one can shoot the bull. So you think organic...GROSS... yeah me too. Until I ate here. Its like heaven. I just had lunch here with my mom and a couple friends of ours and I was so surprised at how YUMMY it truly was. I had a Mediterranean warp with a feta spread.mmmmmmm I want another one just thinking about it. Plus it was way cheap. i think it averaged about 7 dollars a person. I enjoy the cappuccinos, they're always well made and they use biodegradable cups & utensils. I live across the street and as an avid coffee hater you would presume that I would give this place a negative rating, but nay that is not the case. Every morning I stop by for an iced tea before work. This tea is fabulous. Plus whenever I'm feeling hungry they have amazing breakfast options and a decent lunch menu. My favorite breakfast of all time is actually from here. Turkey bacon burrito, whole wheat, green, if you know what I mean. Other fine options include the quiche of the day and the banana bread. My dog also is given a cookie every morning which is a very nice touch. The best coffee shop I've ever been too, plus they offer Vegan, and Gluten Free options everyday along with fair trade coffee. Lady at front counter was clueless asked for blended coffee like person I saw leaving...she looked at me like I was crazy for asking then said yes I guess we make those. I just love a smooth espresso drink that's still easy on the tummy. Love that they have oat and soy milk for the latte's. They are great about making my little girls soy hot chocolate's which is great because my oldest is milk challenged. Great wait staff that's very accommodating with my questions regarding the food menu. The sourdough with turkey bacon, eggs and cheese - pass me another. Neat place, packed to the gills on a relatively early Sunday morning. Unlike most coffee places, this place has a lot of hot food, including what appeared to be the insanely popular breakfast burritos. Not normally a fan of such, I tried one anyway, and it was almost great--needed more cheese to bind the eggs and potatoes in it--I'm sure you could ask for more. Coffee was fabulous, and beans taken home are brewing perfectly, pot after pot. I think I need to see if they do mail order. Bright, airy interior and big exterior patio are inviting. This place is my tried and true Bend breakfast place. Their food is high quality and their coffee is top notch. I always either get the oatmeal or the breakfast burrito, both are delicious. I've been frequenting S.O. for years, but my attendance ebbs and flows as with a lot of local spots. The breakfast burritos here are super-delicious, along with their BLT sandwich. The staff has always been very warm and inviting to me. One thing that really bums me out about Strictly Organic is their coffee/tea to-go cups... I don't know if it's just me, but they always leak like crazy. Now, looking at the bright side of this topic, this should just even more of a reason to remember my own to-go cup, but it truly is a nuisance if I want to grab something quick to-go (as my drink will end up all over my car or my clothes). The ambience doesn't do it for it, personally, but the food and drinks definitely make up for that, in my opinion. I have never been that stoked on any of their espresso drinks, but their drip coffee varieties all seem to be really good. read more

Strictly organic to me means nothing of the sort. Gluten-free cookies and muffins taste like I'm eating cardboard. The sandwiches are something that are McDonalds rejects -- and I bite my tongue even as I use that analogy. Unfortunately my business is just a couple doors away and their coffee (regular... well coffee) is coffee and doesn't taste all that bad and is not a wallet-killer at $2. If they can up the customer service a little and the quality of their food a lot, they will be a place that I would actually recommend people eating while I am fixing their computer. read more

A friend of mine has a girl that works here and when he came to visit Bend he returned, at my request, with some beans for me. This is one of the few coffee shops that I managed to miss on my 8 day trip there and what a disappointment that is! Though I only tried one lb worth, I looked forward to that aromatic cup every morning and wished CA was as obsessed with coffee as Oregon is.
