Not impressed. Had crawfish and shrimp, both overcooked. If you know Cajun food, this is not even close.

We came in for lunch. I ordered the softshell crabs and 1/2 a dozen raw oysters. My friends both had combo plates containing lobster tails and crab legs. For drinks we had 2 waters and an unsweet tea. Our bill with tip was $113. Pros: Our server was very attentive. The raw oysters I had were very good. The flavor of the Cajun sauce was good with just enough kick for me. The seafood bread had good flavor, but was a little greasy Cons: I was going to try the whole lobster until I found that out it was frozen NOT live. The lobster tails and the crab legs that came with the combo plates were overcooked. The tails were tiny (partly from overcooking) about the size of my thumb. The crab meat was dry. We all thought there was far too much oil in the Cajun sauce. The breading on my softshell crabs was too thick and without much taste. I ended up peeling about half of it off which helped a little. The way things are priced is complicated. A menu that requires a 5 minute explanation of how it works needs to be simplified. Overall, the three of us agreed it was not worth the money. read more

Today (Tues, Dec 7) is our wedding anniversary and I thought that since we can't go out to celebrate until Friday, maybe we could spend lunchtime together each having something we really like . I knew I was the only one of us who likes Storming Crab, I offered to pick up something else for her. She agreed on a Penn Station sandwich, but then changed it to some fried shrimp from Storming Crab. I ordered a combo plate with fried catfish and fried scallops. We also ordered red potatoes and corn on the cob.Having had the catfish and corn both before, I knew I liked the garlic butter that the corn, potatoes and shrimp were literally swimming in. I even ordered 2 sides of garlic butter for the corn to be sure I had enough (there was no info on the online menu that indicated how much butter is given for a "side" order turns out it's about 4 oz per order-more than enough). I took it all home and found that the one pound of shrimp was part of a "boil"-not what I wanted but the menu online doesn't have much detail about the various dishes so I didn't know the questions to ask. I will say, they didn't scrimp on the amount of shrimp on the order, The menu didn't indicate that the "red potatoes" were boiled, not baked or fried. My bad again. The catfish I ordered had nire salt in the breading and the breading on the fried scallops was hard and had to be peeled off in order to get to the scallops. The boiled shrimp that I inherited was good size and plentiful, but didn't have much flavor. Lumch for 2 ended up costing $47.49, which I would have been happy to pay had it been good. This place was such a JOKE. Seriously if you're looking for good customer service and good food-this is NOT it. My husband & I came in on a Wednesday evening and sat at our table for 25mins before I finally approached the hostess that sat us and asked if a server was even aware that we were seated and waiting?! After finally putting our order in we waited another 30mins before our food came out. Our waitress was so completely cold, unresponsive & just seemed to lack basic customer service skills-or social skills? My husband ordered king crab that was just basic and boring, very unimpressive. I ordered the fried cod basket that was chewy! Just AWFUL. After we were done eating we sat & sat & sat WAITING on our check-once again I had to flag someone down to get help getting our check. It's lit in the restaurant. You order it Togo or thru delivery; you can bet you butt everytime they will forget food and your seafood will be straight rubber. If you're not going to sit down and eat at restaurant- it's a complete waste of money. $35 for rubber scallops and forgotten additionally paid for corn and potatoes. One quarter of a cob and one small potatoe are the only edible items in the bag. Only trying again to do is in the store. Take out is not the way to go. There's a little bit of a learning curve with the process and the menu, so ask lots of questions! The combos are one pound of each item...be prepared or you'll be taking home leftovers for sure! This place was awesome not only did the food with Cajun sauce was really well seasoned but their seafood bread when eaten a few min after it comes out of the oven is fire! Amazing, when we order we did the clams, king crab legs (so much meat!!!) something leba crabs legs, potatoes and shrimp/boiled eggs I don't like clams but i def did eat these haha the sauce was so good and the aromatic smell omg yes! Def recommend worth the price tag we Uber eats so after tip and fees it was like $148 but we also ate like 4 times from that bag. My only personal disappointment was the headless shrimp comes with shell and I am not a fan of having to work trough taking the shells out of my shrimp. We came to this spot around 5:30p on a Thursday when it wasn't too busy but were surprised with how poor the service was. Even though we were seated quickly (just three of us), it took our server around 15 minutes to even come to our table and take our drink orders. We ordered apps and a combo #4 boil, and while we did expect a wait, surrounding tables ended up getting their food before us and our waitress was nowhere in sight--except for the one brief drive by when she tossed some cheese bread on our table saying "it's hot" and scurried away. After about a 45 minute wait on the food, we got our combo boil before we got any of the apps we ordered! The server said something along the lines of "that's just how the kitchen cooked it" and walked away. And when we did finally receive everything we ordered, the food quality was a mixed bag. The raw oysters+accompanying sauces and the clam chowder soup were great, but the lobster and crawfish meat in our combo tasted mushy and stringy, like it was overcooked. May have just been an off-night that would've gone better with a different server, but our experience didn't convince us to give it a second go. Nice to see these flavors hit Fort Wayne, but wish the execution was a touch better. read more

We went to storming crab today. Not impressed. First, Having people write all over your restaurant is not a good look. We thought the menu was confusing. Waitress told us to ignore parts of the menu which added to the confusion. There needs to be more options for ordering the seafood other than just the boil combos. We didn't order any boils since we couldn't get the combo we wanted. The crab cakes were mostly filler instead of crab. The grilled oysters were small and lacked flavor as well as over cooked. For the cost of food I think it should be better. Plan to try one more time maybe and hope for a better experience. read more

Where to start. While there was a little wait . That was expected I was told 30-40 minutes .I was sat in 10. While waiting got tomeet a owner and a district manager. Very nice gentleman that trickled down to the staff. The staff was fun and friendly while being very helpful. The bread sample was to die for. We went there for my wife's birthday. The experience was very enjoyable. The food was excellent and served piping hot. The menu is a bit confusing for a first time patron and we ended up paying more because of the way we ordered. Next time we will eat there we will order a combo platter and share it as it is more than enough for two people. We ordered separate platters which resulted in our taking home quite a bit of food. Delicious! The food was great! The staff was awesome! The server was very good at explaining the different options and how the pricing worked. When we got our food, we realized that mine was supposed to have crawfish and lobster tail, but they gave me lobster tail and shrimp. The server quickly apologized and came back with a bag of crawfish to add to my dish. It's kind of pricey, but if you do the dinner meals, they come with 3 pounds of meat, so very easy to feed a family of 4. That will probably be what we do next time. We went for lunch this time. My boyfriend and I came there on a Thursday afternoon for the first time. It was slow, but we were greeted promptly. Our waitress was amazing. She related to us and took her time explaining everything. We ended up ordering half pounds of king crab leg, black muscles, crawfish, shrimp. We ordered it with the Cajun seasoning and medium heat. I'm not a huge super spicy food fan, but the medium was a delicious amount of heat. The manager even came over and helped explain to us how to shell the crawfish. It was DELICIOUS. I can't stop raving about it to anyone that asks! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Not recomended at all. While the concept is good, the food not so much. Service is exellent but again, verything comes down to the food served. Ordered soft shell crabs and I got a lump of fried dough with a crab somewhere inside. My son ordered gumbo and it was a disaster as well, very runny and not even close to a gumbo.
