Unfortunately I have to write this review. On business trip and trying something different in Fort Wayne. So steam cajun place it is. Place located next to Goodwill in an empty shopping area with plenty of parking space. Inside, they have big dining area. Almost like used to be a asian buffet or bar dining restaurant. I asked the waiter before ordering. If the Lobster bisque soup using real lobster or not. He said yes. When it came out, all I can taste was "lobster/fish stick" - surimi. The soup also tastes burn and found the clumped powder at the bottom. The fish and shrimp are completely tasteless. Saw other people reviewed. Not even salty, seasoning or taste anything at all. Bland. Same with fries. Only taste the cajun seasoning on top. I was hungry but lost my appetite from all the food. Most people order the steamed mixed cajun in a bag. They might have taste with all the mixed seasoning. Hopefully they can improve next time. read more

Came here craving some fried seafood and wasn't disappointed. Coming from Vegas, I'm no stranger to good food spots. I was hoping I'd find a good place to get fries and seafood, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality at Wild Crab. The restaurant was moderately empty on a Sunday, with some light pop song remixes playing in the background. It was a large area that felt very clean and well-taken care of. Despite there only being one server, we were attended to fairly quickly and we were always checked on periodically to make sure everything was okay! My boyfriend and I ordered a shrimp/calamari basket, lobster bisque, and a fish po' boy. Everything was hot and fresh, and the cajun fries especially had a nice crunch and flavor. I think the po' boy could have used more sauce, and I consider it the weakest of what we got flavor-wise. Surprisingly, the bisque was really, really good! I'm not usually a fan of it, but this is probably one of the few places that make it in a way I love - it was creamy, savory, and a good amount. We'll come back when we have another seafood craving! read more

First time here. The apps were good. Sent those awful chicken tenders back. Still the new ones were awful !! Hey, get some different tenders!!! The small shrimp on my dinner were good. The fries were good. Husbands Lobster tail was okay and King Crab he said he would not get it again, just okay. Hell for what the prices are I would expect the food to be top notch. The waiter was very good. The Manager was awesome !! She tried her very best to fix my disaster of a meal. She is an asset to your restaurant !! I would hire her in a heart beat at any eatery. May return but I would really have to think about it ?? I may come because of the manager being so great !! read more

This was my first trip to the Wild Crab. They took over the old Scotty's Brewhouse facility. You won't find to many differences in the decor. Still a large spacious facility with TV's and a bar. The place is clean and comfortable. On this occasion the restaurant were rather empty. Our waitress was professional and friendly. She wasn't over bearing as she didn't have many other responsibilities. We ordered a combo boil with shrimp, crab legs, crawfish, scallops and sausage. We ordered the mild spicy blended House flavors. The mild level has just enough spice for the group that doesn't all have the same preferences. The seasoning was a nice blend of Cajun and milder spices. The hush puppies appetizer was good. There was enough balls for three people. The balls are a bit small. However they were moist and had a sweet corn taste. They were not overly greasy to taste. The restaurant provides all the tools you need for dinner. The bib is good and the wet wipes were definitely appreciated. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The shrimp was tender. The crab legs were sweet to taste. The crawfish was okay as there isn't much meat there but it does suck up the boil spices nicely. The added sausage was excellent and tender. The scallops were okay as you don't get many in half a pound and the boil spice waters down the natural sweet taste. The corn on the cob came out very soggy. This is a fun place to visit with a group. Give it a try. read more

Such a surprise! Would have never checked this place out in a million years unless someone told me to go because it's in a random strip mall but it is a treat! Perfect place for kiddos because Sponge Bob is on the big screen and there are fish hanging everywhere. We were seated right away at 5:30pm on a Friday with no wait and plenty of room to spare. My toddler had specifically asked for "crab and lobster" for his birthday so this seemed like just the right place. Food came out quickly and was delish! I ordered the mild cajun scallops and there were SO MANY scallops! Definitely could not eat them all. Should have ordered more potato and corn, though. Service was friendly and awesome. I'm definitely going to want to go back the next time we're in Fort Wayne. read more

At the suggestion of a coworker, a friend and I decided to try out Wild Crab. We got there around 5PM, and it wasn't super busy. The food was decent, but the service made the entire experience awful. Despite it not being super busy, service was slow and the waiter ended up getting an attitude with us. My friend added hard boiled egg to her combo - it wasn't added. We notified the waiter, and he said he'd make sure to remove it from the bill. During dinner, our waters weren't refilled at all. Our waiter passed by our table several times during the meal - and never stopped to refill water or ask how we were doing. He finally stopped by and asked how our food was after we had already finished eating. We said it was good, but we would like boxes and to order dessert. He said he'd come back. He didn't come back for 15 minutes. He took so long that we asked another waitress if she'd be able to bring us our bill - she did and that's when we saw the egg was never removed. We told her, and she said she'd get it taken care of. She never came back - which I get. We weren't her table. By the time our actual waiter came back, he asked us if we still wanted dessert - we said no and just wanted the bills. He seemed annoyed by this, and said "Ok" with an attitude. He went and got the bills and the egg still wasn't removed. We told him and he once again gave us an attitude as he left to go get it corrected. We finally got the bills, and after TWO HOURS, we could finally leave. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt - I thought maybe it opened a few months ago. If you don't mind waiting a painfully long time to eat, I guess this place is worth a shot if you want to try a seafood boil. Personally, however, my friend and I have already decided to go elsewhere in the future. read more

The food was delicious! The service was excellent! And we will definitely be coming back time & time again!

It looks abandoned and it smells like rotten fish, not fresh fish. :( I think they are trying, I don't want to knock them down, but it's ft Wayne.... read more

Mixed experience with this "Cajun" eatery. Good service, very welcoming manager. Fair beer offerings, but nothing special. Most disappointing offering was the oyster po' boy, which was more breading than oysters, nothing like a real N'Orleans version. read more

First time at the new Wild Crab in SW Fort Wayne... All in all, pretty good (I unfortunately forgot to take pictures). The restaurant has cool decor, very clean, and good service... The servers and management were very friendly. As for the food, it was good... Probably a Dave Portnoy 7.2 out of 10. I got the clam chowder, which was great and the shrimp po-boy with sweet potato fries... I asked to substitute the fries for a salad, but they said that they don't do substitutions (wish they would because a lot of the menu is fried). Overall, it's a bit pricey... $27 for lunch, but seafood in Midwest is expected to be pricey. read more

Food was good. The service was average; not the most friendly but got the food out in a timely manner. Did have to ask for refills on drinks a few times before she finally did it. But overall a decent experience. read more

Wild Crab Fort Wayne - Shrimp Boil - Seafood Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

Our first time visiting Wild Crab Fort Wayne, was a great experience. From first entering the doors the staff greeted us with smiles on their faces. And the restaurant was clean with a cool atmosphere. We ate here for lunch and had the seafood boil. With snow crab legs, crawfish, shrimp and corn and potatoes. The taste of everything was fresh and not overcooked. If any one is in the mood for some seafood, don't overlook the Wild Crab restaurant. Looking forward to coming back for some great food! read more

New seafood restaurant in Fort Wayne. Absolutely loved it! Friendly staff. Very clean. Cool decor with fish and sharks and a crab of course. Giant tv I mean giant. Great size bar. The food was amazing. So there a lots of options but not so many you can't decide. I got a seafood boil of crab leg half lb and shrimp half lb with butter sauce, added 2 boiled eggs, corn on cob, and red potatoes, butter sauce, mild seasoning. Y'all gonna love it!! Price was fair, not over priced but it's seafood so don't expect PB&J prices. I really liked the bill format. Just check the box for tip amount and sign. No math to go with all that seafood. Done. I'll be back very soon! Let's support this and keep it going strong. read more

Wild Crab Fort Wayne - Not the best photo. But if only you could taste the food. Seafood Boil with crab legs and shrimp and boiled egg. - Seafood Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

We had one waiter who had to man the party room by himself. Our party had around 30 ppl ( including 5 children) and he ran his tail off. He should've had more help! We did have a young lady who brought around refills at one point. Instead of adjusting the bills of the patrons who had problems with their orders ( there were several) the tip was removed. We do not feel like this was appropriate AT ALL. He worked his tail off with almost no help and instead of maybe comping an item or two his tip was taken away? Terrible... the food was also very expensive for small portions. read more

Bland food, I had the shrimp and fish basket with cagin fries. There was no flavor at all in any way shape or form !! The hush puppies were under cooked on the inside, but over done on the outside !! I even tried to eat this stuff at home and couldn't !! read more

This place is a lot like the storming crab. What I liked that is better than the storming crab is that you can add on things to your seafood boil meal. You can add on fries, extra shrimp and sausage, boiled eggs...lots of additions. Market price for the crab, lobster, and snow crab legs was very high but you can get a 1/2 lbs of them for mostly under $20 which was nice to round out a Cajun boil. My wife had a shrimp basket and liked it. The draft beer wasn't available on this trip but bottled was available. Only bottled beer that was not a standard lager was Shock Top. Not much has changed from the original Scotty's brew house. Still has the TVs with sports, huge bar, and same floor layout. read more

If you've never dined at a similar facility the expertise is very novel. Order the seafood you want, the sauce and spice level. They'll add corn on the cob and potatoes. It'll come served in a large plastic bag you open and dish out. You'll want the bib and gloves -trust me. I would skip the drinks - very weak even when saying something to manager. And nearly everything is market price so be sure to ask or you'll be very surprised when the bill comes. Food tastes very good and our server was great. read more

Reviewer is a former 20 year New Orleans resident. Wild Crab is a special place. Their Oyster Po-Boy sandwich is pretty darned good, a 95% match with the real thing in the Cresent City. The owner and staff go the extra mile for a great New Orleans dining experience, whether for a couple or a family gathering. read more

The wife and I were headed to a place we eat at from time to time and like many places today. Staffing issues and they stopped serving lunch. So, across the street what do we see? The Wild Crab I am a seafood guy so I was in. I had the catfish/crab basket. The wife had a flounder basket. Not only were the prices reasonable the portions enough to bring some home. The food was excellent. The catfish was melt in your mouth delicious as was the flounder. So, the price and the food isn't where excellent stopped. The service as the staff were all warm, inviting, and make you feel glad you stopped in. Not enough of that these days! Excellent job Wild Crab! We will see you many times I'm sure. read more

Had a hankering for some key lime pie. Ordered two orders of the key lime pie for delivery. Sadly, I was disappointed. There were three main issues that led to this rating. First and foremost, the pie was way too sweet for my taste. Not any particular fault of the establishment, taste is a subjective experience. It was just way, way, way too sweet for any key lime pie recipe that I've ever tasted. The crucial balance of tartness to sweetness was overpowered by the excessive amount of sugar. Secondly, the crust was missing something, definitely not the worst crust I've had, just a bit too crumbly for my taste, perhaps too much butter. And lastly the portion size was too small for the price. Considering the richness of the pie, it might have not been the worst outcome, but nonetheless disappointing. Basically the entire experience was mediocre, not terrible, not great. I would not recommend the key lime pie. read more

The best see food I ever eat ! Clean place. Good service. Surprise it was not as busy.

An absolute hidden gem. Usually, my husband and I come here for lunch. This time we decided to invite out of town friends for dinner. The good thing is that the Wild Crab has the same menu for dinner and lunch, so we knew the food would be great! Also, the superb service we had at our lunches was provided this past Friday evening. From the time we were seated at our reserved table until the time we left - we enjoyed three hours of dining and getting to know the parents of our daughter, who were visiting from Mississippi. We were all impressed with the fine service and delicious food. Needless too say the evening went by very quickly. Thank you Wild Crab for a great evening. We look forward to our next meal!! read more

This restaurant is a classic case of an identity crisis. It did have the feel of a seafood restaurant...kind of. The bar area felt like it really wanted to be a sports bar, but didn't know how. The greeters gave out a dive-bar vibe, along with cheap and cheesy Halloween decorations. We REALLY wanted to like it. Too bad. read more

Very good! Probably best popcorn shrimp I've had. Good boils but don't underestimate the baskets as they're wonderful.
