Storage Sense site in Colorado Springs, CO on hwy 85/87. They gave me a great rate to start for a 10'x40' shipping container then 6 mos later a 40.00 increase and no email notice of it. Then somehow they took the money from my debit card without notifying me. I found out by checking my bank account at the first of the month just to see what had been debited. I never had engaged auto pay when paying my bill online but there it was, debited on my statement. I called right away and as usual the office/site manager wasn't available. I left a message. He called back 2 days later and swore they had sent a notice of an increase. They did not. He checked the atuo pay and it was on. I said no, I never use it and so he turned it off. Well I said if you can turn it off so easy, can you turn it on just as easily? Oh no he says. He made no attempt to apologize when I said I couldn't afford the rent now and would probably be moving. Storge Sense bought my existing storage facility. I had no notification that the facility was acquired by storage sense. I received no bill from the company. I had to find the company online and figure out how to pay them. The second month I never received a bill. I had to call the company to get them to email me a bill. I went to my storage facility here the last company had a full time employee there. they fired the employee and they have no one at the facility. This company is absolutely bad. I have made several calls and comments about the security gate not being operational. It's been broken for weeks! I rented this unit because of the security, and I do not feel safe working in my unit with the knowledge that anyone can walk up and catch me off guard when I am at the back of the unit. Then, at the same time that this gate issue became an ongoing problem, Storage Sense has the audacity to raise my monthly rent over $100 . I am not getting what I was paying for, and am beyond angry that now I am supposed to endure, somehow, another $100 per month added to my small business budget. read more

The site is standard for the storage places in the area- it is secure (entire with a key code but someone can follow you in) and it is well maintained. The lady who has helped me has always been friendly and knowledgeable. Two nice extras- I was given free locks when I rented and you can also borrow their small truck for moving. BUT a huge downside, rent goes UP every three months. I somehow missed this in the small print and as a result, I'm moving out. I'm able to get a better deal at another place with stable rent. Just a head's up, be ready for regular rent increases if you lease here. read more

You will absolutely love this place for a while. The on site folks are wonderful, helpful, friendly and kind. HOWEVER.....Once you get in, stay a while, or in my case, several years, you will find that your reasonable rate will increase and increase and increase and increase....sometimes twice a year. I asked the owners if they would consider a discount for LONG TERM customers, ones that had been put on auto-pay, never been a problem and had been using their facility for the long term. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I checked around and in Plano, Storage Masters was over-priced and some other storage facilities offered the "Long-term" discount. After over ten years we got tired of the rate increases and asked one more time to match their competition. Their answer was.....well, we moved out October 31st. read more

Great staff she was very helpful and welcoming. I forgot her name but she was awsome. She was very knowledgeable not only of what she is doing but the area I was telling her we had one day of been here in Texas via California she was very helpful and I want to thank her. Also it started snowing that was awsome to. The one thing I didn't like was the fact that didn't have a special for first-time renter's. That would of help a lot. - Dec 6, 2011 Beware.... Rented a unit for a mere 3 months. Went to go pick up our items this weekend, and low and behold a rat had died in our unit. Now - even though we were told by the clerk that they have NEVER had a burglary, or an infestation - they declined any responsibility. I was referred over to thier operations manager - Bryan Wofford - who basically told me that they are not liable for this what so ever. My upholstery in my unit is now ruined - and if they are not responsible for keeping rats, insects etc. out - WHO IS?? What did I pay this ridiculous rental fee for?? I would steer well clear of this business if I were you. It is going to cost me THOUSANDS to replace the ruined upholstery. read more

Kelsey and Reba are both extremely friendly & professional. Kelsey showed me different size units in climate control that were available. She helped me with the reservation & explained everything to me. Reba actually helped me complete the paper work and signed me up for the unit. She went out of her way to walk me to the unit & to make sure I could open the door into the climate controlled area. While moving in, I met SEVERAL long term, happy renters which is comforting. I stayed another rental facility for 15 years but was looking for something smaller & closer to my home. Even though I've only been here a short time, I'm confident I found the right facility for me & intent to remain for years to come. I definitely recommend this facility. read more

Let me update this review - I contacted the better business bureau and this is the response given to my by their corporate office - "Our store manager is extremely well versed in the art of customer service and we have many positive comments from other customers about their dealings with him." HOW COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. Brian, I am really surprised by your message. Not only have I called about this issue twice, the second time I called I mentioned how awful my experiences are with Rogers and the person I spoke with couldn't even offer an apology. She just moved right along with trying to take my payment. So not only have I tried communicating this with your corporate office twice, I filed a better business bureau complaint and I, once again, was not even offered an apology. Rather, I was given this lackluster response "Our store manager is extremely well versed in the art of customer service and we have many positive comments from other customers about their dealings with him." How UTTERLY PATHETIC. How come you cannot empathize with your customers? You cannot even fathom that my comments are legitimate because he's "nice" to other people? So now that I've communicated this twice verbally with your company, and filed a formal complaint, I still cannot receive acknowledgment that perhaps there is something truly wrong here? I am not simply making this stuff up. Roger is explosive and hostile and will incessantly call me and my entire family if my payment is more than 5 minutes late. Last time I visited the facility, I arrived after a family member who was authorized to access my unit. There was a lock on the unit and I called Roger to remove since my payment was current. There should have never been a lock on the unit to begin with. He went out there and was joined by another woman working at the facility. He was intimidating and unprofessional when talking to my family member and he refused to remove the lock because he thought my address was not current but it actually was - I had mentioned to him many times that I never moved and I don't know why he thought my address would have changed. Why was this ground for refusing to remove my lock? Why was he trying to intimidate my family member and yell at her and harass her into giving him more information? Why does he constantly call me and my family members when I have never failed to communicate with him about my payments? Why has he shouted and screamed at me both in person and over the phone several times? This is completely unacceptable. Your responses to me have been completely unacceptable as well. Why should I try to contact you when I have never once been offered an apology or given the opportunity to talk with you in depth about my experiences? read more

I've had positive experience twice with Storage Masters. I'm renting 2 units a their facility, and the rates they gave me was better then any i've ever seen. I was offered a discount at both times at the front desk, and the total rate per month was even lower than for what i was going for. It's always a great feeling to safe money at the spot. The front desk ladies are very lovely, polite and very helpful. The storage units are clean and look brand new to me. The access to the storage unit is pretty easy, and they also provide you with the lock. I am very happy with this company. They even sent me a thank you card by mail. The property is well kept and seems to be very secure. When we viewed the unit it was extremely clean. I appreciate the manager as he was quick and accomodating (we had our three kids with us). This was not the least expensive but was closest to our home and with the free moving truck (first 20 miles free), that was a great perk! read more

I just moved into Storage Masters, and I can say I'm a fan! I've never had to get a storage unit before, so I really didn't know what to expect, but WOW! I've rented three units in the past here and had a good experience. Friendly staff and free lock with rental agreement. Used two units for several months while in between homes and keep one for business storage. Love that everyone has a unique code to get in and to get out, so there's an audit of who's been through the gates. Only had one time during extremely cold weather when gates didn't function. Climate controlled units worked well, no issues with maintaining 20 degree difference from outside. read more

We rented from storage masters for 8 months at almost $150 a month. Roger the manager at the property was a pleasure to work with. We moved out and it took us a couple of days to call and cancel because of getting settled in. When we called to cancel, we were notified that we were one day past the prorate date and we would be billed for the entire month. 6 days in a unit and we were billed for the month! We were given Brian Woffords number to call and he was arrogant in the manner in which he spoke to me. (Unfortunately they don't give the manager that is in Texas in he ability to handle customer issues) Brian said that NO other company would give us a prorated amount and since it said it in the contract, we have to pay it. It is December and the holiday season and absolutely NO customer service or goodwill. Even fortune 200 companies will amend contracts over something this minuscule to keep the customer coming back. He had no problem losing out on future customers to make a months worth of profit. It is not a shock that in 30 years they only have 5 locations. I would advise no one use this company as long as Brian Wofford is still the operations manager their outlook on customer service will be dismal and ultimately effect you and your money. read more
