I have a parking space and first of all they promised me one rate, and doubled it ,not even 60 days later. But the problem was. I own a business and this one day, we happened to have to work late to complete the job. I called corporate and explained the situation. Instead of helping me, they did worse than the opposite , and put in the system to block me from getting an emergency code for One day! So instead of helping me, they doubled down and made it more difficult for me, more difficult than if I would have never called them in the first place!! They said I could call in the morning and take it up with the locals at my storage.. um they are the nicest people and YOU are the ones not helping me NOW!! Don't give them the burden in the morning!!! So hey my guys are out 15 plus hours making money to pay for this storage and their reward is to not be able to access their cars to go home to their families. I understand and this is not an everyday occurrence. But they could help this one time and they chose not to! read more

I changed storage locations because of convenience/location. What a mistake!!! it was late in the day and the manager asked the value of my personal property and charged my credit card stating I would get a receipt and contracts as e-mails. I did not get the receipt, but did get a total of five documents which required electronic signatures. One of them asked for my initials to confirm $47 monthly insurance charges, which I never requested, much less authorized. I tried canceling the insurance but the software did not allow it. I called the manager and left a message for a call back. A day later I went to the office, as the manager never called me. When confronted, he lied about having spoken to me about the insurance and that he provided me a receipt (I've been in the insurance business for over 35 years and wouldn't have gotten it, as I know that my homeowners insurance provides coverage for most perils...Additionally, the previous location I had it for over a year and declined the insurance from day one also). The manager was adamant that there was nothing that could be done about the insurance charge for the first month and that he would speak to his boss about a partial refund. Received a notice today that Extra Space Storage charged me double what my monthly fee for a parking spot cost and what we had agreed on for price. When I called all I got was we sent you notice I. The mail. Which I never received anything. I check my mail daily. Double the cost for no new service or no nothing and charging 142 dollar for a parking spot is a rip off. Never will I ever work with them again. When I spoke to them all they would say is let me see what we can do. How about charging the price that was agreed upon by both parties and not just charge double and I get nothing for that extra cost. An administrative error increased my monthly unit price. Lisa, store manager took the time to look at my unit account information and noticed my account was set up incorrectly by a previous employee. She identified the discrepancy and made things right resulting in saving us money each month. Thank you for helping me Lisa you are awesome and kind! read more

Pro: Very helpful! It was easy to move my items in efficiently and also provided locks to secure the storage at a low fee. Con: There is a rodent problem, At least for the outdoor units. My items were stored for a year and a half and when I removed my items they were all covered in rat feces and urine and I even found a baby rat skeleton on one of my couches. read more

Service at the unit and access was no issue. You should know though that they will raise the price 3 months after you move in. They know it's difficult to move out at this point. I consider this predatory behavior. As long as you expect with a 30% price hike a few months after moving in, they are good. Know that this is considered acceptable to them. I think few people would anticipate this though. Happy to be out. read more

Just a warning to anyone using Extra Storage on Lakeview Pkwy. The one with the lime green in their signage. They have rats/mice and they destroyed irreplaceable items such as a deer and an antelope mount of my son in laws and their feces and urine was all over the sofa stored. Disgusting and ruined. Plus the neighboring unit had a dead snake and their stuff was covered in rodent feces. They offered no compensation because my daughter didn't get insurance. The facility I am at treats for rats and mice. I see the boxes everywhere and after being there for over 10 years, I have never seen a mouse or rat. They couldn't have been treating properly. Yes, my daughter should have gotten insurance but they should offer them something because they shouldn't have rats!!! That's only good customer service. So if you have stuff there. Get it out and save yourself a big headache. Their staff was not helpful AT ALL!! read more

Well lit, extremely clean. Sheila was very helpful. Immediately offered a tour. Extensive gate access hours: 6am - 10pm. I was impressed that they give you a sticker to put on your storage unit lock, so it's obvious during their daily walk-through if your lock has been tampered with. Be sure to bring your homeowner's declaration of insurance, to avoid having to pay for their insurance. I didn't have mine with me, so had to pay $10 extra the first month until I got my paperwork. Also, look on their website for the "web specials": they were great about honoring the web rate when I signed the contract in person. Overall, I'm impressed! read more

Buyer Beware: the "internet rate" is not the rate you will pay after the first few months. You'll receive a brief letter in the mail stating they're raising your rates SIGNIFICANTLY. Ours went up fully 50%. Call the store and ask why the website doesn't indicate that this is a promotional rate and the lie/excuse is "the internet rate is not the final rate". They don't tell you that until AFTER they jack your rates. We're moving out and will never grace their doors again. read more

Pros: I did a lot of research on area storage facilities and this one was my choice because of the security, size of units and price. The place is clean, well lit. Cons: I filled out copious amounts of paperwork to reserve a unit and indicated in that paperwork when I would need the unit. I started getting calls immediately asking when I was coming in to look at the unit (really they just wanted to know when I was coming in to pay). Then when I did come in I introduced myself the lady at the counter did not introduce herself or welcomed me in any way. read more
