I tried paying online like I always do, but I was licked out of my account. I called before the due date and was told they'll call me back, they were showing a storage! No call back and no access to online payment. Now I have a late fee. When I arrived at the storage to pay, I was told my rent increased. I complained. The idiot employee told that maybe I should get someone to open a new account in their name so I can pay rent at $55 rather than $95. I asked told him why not offer an existing paying customer a better rate? He said well we're only going to triple the cost of your rent; you can always find a new storage. So I told him, your right, I'll be back to pay my rent, and move my belongings. When I came back, the Ass-whole billed my card for the whole month, instead of the days used and my late fee. Okay, let me start off by saying I give people the benefit of the doubt. So if I'm giving a 1 star…read morereview, it's to make sure no one else gets put in the same position in the future. First and foremost, Life Storage never had consistent rates to provide for me when I called about renting out a storage unit. The first representative I spoke to a few weeks ago gave me a quote, and then I was provided a different number for the same size unit a week later. I get pricing changing every couple of days for maybe a few bucks, understandable. But the lack of consistency between the two phone calls was a red flag. The first rep on the phone told me I could rent out month to month with no contractual obligation. The second told me I HAD to rent out with a minimum amount of months at a time paid upfront. Completely contradicting themselves. Due to the lack of efficiency, I let them know I just wanted to come in in person to see the unit and get the story straight as I believe I was speaking to folks in a main general line vs this specific location on Milton. It doesn't end there. I arrived on a Saturday morning (during biz hours) to chat with someone at the office, only to be met with a "back in 30 min" sign. I figured, okay, everyone needs a break so I ran some errands and came back. Upon returning (40 min later) the sign was still up so I decided to just give this specific location a call. Someone named Amanda answered and I let Amanda know I was "just making sure y'all were back from lunch" and she rudely responded, "I wasn't at lunch I was checking something out on property and will be leaving for lunch at 1:00." Truly I didn't care why she was "out," it just seemed super unprofessional. When my husband and I arrived in the office, the front desk associate, who I'm assuming was Amanda on the phone since I just hung up with her a minute before while calling from their parking lot, asked how she could help. I explained that I had a reference # and spoke with 2 different associates over the phone regarding a 7.5 x 10 unit space for rent and was quoted $237 a month by the first associate, and $236 a month by the second after calling a week later. You would think a customer trying to give them business would've been treated with a bit more respect. Amanda (I believe) asked for my name, I provided it for her and offered to give her the reference # I was supplied with when given the original quote. When she looked up my name she told me within 10 seconds that she had nothing on file for me. Ridiculous. I told her here's the reference number I was provided with and she said "those don't mean anything in our system." This is the worst part, she quoted me $285 dollars to rent out the 7.5 x 10. I asked if price changes were common with their company and she said yes, when I asked "y'all change the pricing to $50 more a month when I just spoke with the second rep 2 days ago?" her literal response was "yes I can!" Very rarely do I just turn around and walk away from someone without saying a word. That day I did. I was treated disrespectfully and with a rushed attitude, it left me in such a bad mood. I know people have bad days, but why do you make the customers have one too? I hope management sees this and makes a change with their system fast. I don't give 1 star reviews often, so please consider this as something I took to heart.
