I ignored other negative reviews about this location as they are most often someone whining because they didn't receive red carpet treatment. I shouldn't have. I noticed other reviews about previously prepared food and oven broken. I experienced the same. I believe the head to toe tattooed worker arrived just in time to open. First thing I noticed when I walked in was a handwritten small sign about the oven being repaired. I looked closely and could tell it was used often. Subtle word changes could still be seen. Food in the case looked ancient. We departed without eating, and would have even without reading the reviews I own several business so I take reviewing very seriously and try to look for reasons or causes. I don't feel this is the case here. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!! Went with our family and a another family to enjoy the fall day. We had coffee, hot chocolate and pastries. Probably spent more than most the people in there. The employees apparently don't like kids because we were asked to leave because their mind set is that kids should be seen and not heard. They had no problem taking our money for food and beverages, but didn't want our kids to be present. We won't be going back. read more

The coffee and service were good. The breakfast burritos we got were small, definitely not "3 egg", hardly any cheese, and the potatoes looked like the frozen diced potatoes from a bag and absolutely no other spice or cooking method involved. I'm fairly certain they put those frozen bits in a microwave to unthaw before they wrapped it up. I wish I hadn't tipped until I got the food. 1 latte, 1 hot tea, and 2 burritos my overly generous 15% plus tip cost me $32. Oh yeah...I also got a lemon blueberry muffin. We tried Stomp'n Grounds for breakfast two times this past week and would definitely recommend it. I ordered the salmon and cream cheese bagel both times. It was absolutely perfect. My only complaint is they only have one size for coffee (i.e., small). As a new mom, I need a big cup! With that said, the people are friendly and the outdoor space is beautiful and dog friendly. I also appreciated that they had a high chair for my baby. read more

This place is one of the best coffee houses to which I've ever been. Their pour-overs (method of brewing coffee slowly) are amazing. They've Ethiopian coffee and other coffees are available. The owners are wonderful people, but they truly know their coffee, as do the persons working here. The place is decorated beautifully as well. Very historic feel.... very old building. lattes, cappuccino, espresso, coffee, desserts, breakfast... lunch deli sandwiches. You'll see college students here, tourists, locals, and everyone is happy. The coffee is quite smooth and their pour over method is timed.. they watch and monitor what they are doing. This is gourmet stuff all the way. On fridays, they host small bands that are local.. it's never loud and the musicians are immensely talented (something you'd hear in Branson or normally pay to hear). I think this is among our favorite places on earth. If you want to have a cup of coffee and sit for a while, no one bothers you. Likewise, you can get coffee to,go.. either way, it's gourmet. As said, Ethiopian blends are available.. other coffees are available as well. This is a gourmet coffee place and it's reasonably priced as well. I like that they time their pour overs... they also have seasonal offerings like pumpkin spice etc. the owners obviously know their coffees and we wish them well. If this place were in St. Louis or Kansas City, there'd be lines of 30-40 people on weekends. I'd compare this place to Comet Coffee in St. Louis (And that's saying a lot considering comet has won national awards). read more

BEST latte I have ever had. My husband and I recently spent the weekend in Hermann and stopped at Stromp'n Grounds on our way out of town expecting an average experience. What a surprise!!! It was a trendy cafe, with great service and friendly smiles. I felt right at home. My husband ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich, which he said was delicious. I ordered a latte with a side of fruit. It was a little wait because they took their time to do it right. It was amazing!!! I highly recommend stopping by and we will be sure to as well the next time we visit. read more
