    Pear and vodka cocktail

Fernweh is in an old remodeled building in the historic downtown of Hermann. The atmosphere is a modern vibe mixed with the old architecture. Very welcoming! When we first arrived, we paid to do a bourbon and whiskey tasting. The lady was incredibly informative about how they make all of them. My husband was really surprised with how good their two year bourbon was. We sat at the bar and shared a brisket grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. Both were good. I also enjoyed a couple tasty handcrafted cocktails. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would return myself.

This place is so cute! A nice variety of drinks and food. Our meal and service were great! A must go if you're in Hermann.

We love the ambiance here. When you walk in there's a tasting area where you can try their drinks. But then there's also a restaurant to the right. We've done the tasting, which was really good and eaten here a few times. In the restaurant it's very cozy and there's a little fireplace on the wall. The decor is very cute. We had the brisket, which was delicious and the roasted cauliflower and broccoli which was very tasty. We also had the old fashioned drinks. Very yummy. We were served by the bartender, and she was great. Very friendly and welcoming. The hostess was very welcoming as well. Highly recommend.

We had a small group here to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday and we're pleasantly surprised at the food, drinks, and atmosphere. I ordered the grilled chicken sliders and the garden salad with chicken. Both were very good- chicken grilled just right and slider buns grilled on one side and soft on the other. Our server took good care of us and I didn't ever find us having to ask for anything. There was a small crowd that day, but the weather wasn't that good either being rainy and wet. I'll come back to try something else next time.

After leaving another local establishment and not quite done drinking it was nice to see that Fernweh was still open. As soon as we walked in I felt like we should have started here instead. Fernweh makes corn based spirits, vodka but most importantly, whiskeys! I'm a fan of Old Fashioneds so I was going to just get that but our bartender, Eli convinced me to try their twist, the Old Earl, which used an Earl Grey infused whiskey and house bitters. The cocktail was 9.50?! What? that's ridiculously cheap for a cocktail. Ok, so before I go all ga-ga I waited to give it a try. I didn't pick up the lavender notes but I could pick up the tea notes in the whiskey. A cocktail like this would easily be 12 dollars minimum so whatever minor issues are overshadowed by the price. I wanted to highlight Eli, despite the fact that we were the last ones in and it was clearly near closing time he didn't call last call either. He was cleaning up but said that we didn't need to rush or hurry on his account since he had to stick around to close out. I don't just appreciate the cocktail and spirit but the extra effort that Eli put in making us feel comfortable.

Garlic herb broccoli and cauliflower.... I think?

Frozen vegetables, combative staff and confused menu. Ordered the pretzels and the whipped feta apps and those were good. Then ordered the Cobb salad and chicken sliders, glazed carrots and the pictured cauliflower dish. The appetizers tricked us into staying, honestly because the dinner was disappointing. The avocado on the Cobb salad was frozen, not fresh. The broccoli and cauliflower was only cauliflower (green and white cauliflower literally no broccoli) and also, frozen. When asked to have the carrots lightly glazed with the brown sugar and honey glaze, we got push back from the wait staff. Also got push back when we asked for an additional serving of ranch dressing. The chicken sliders, listed as an entree, came without sides and the chicken on all four sliders probably weighed a total of 4oz. We spent $161 for four people to dine here and are extremely disappointed, wish we would have spent that money elsewhere. Also, the Old Fashioned and Cosmopolitan cocktail were unbalanced and extremely diluted. Watched Aqua Man bartender put his glorious hair up into a man bun at the bar... where he mixed our diluted drinks.

So far this is my favorite spot in Hermann to get a bite and maybe a cocktail. Food, service, and atmosphere are always excellent!

Sadly, however, I could not order any to ship home to California. A return visit to Missouri was planned and a road trip to The Hermann Wine Trail area was mapped out. Our first stop? Pinckney Bend in New Haven, of course! Planning to purchase a bottle of hibiscus gin and tonic mix, I left with three bottles of gin, two of the hibiscus tonic mix, one corn whiskey, a four-pack of premixed G&TS and Hibhounds in cans, a super-soft t-shirt and one travel-sized PB 8 oz flask, complete with 2 metal shot glasses! Oh yeah, they also sell drinks of the patio for a whopping $5! Support this local business and tell them Pat sent you! Cheers

There were special tastings inside and outside they had fire pits, bales of hay to sit on, fried food on sticks, live music and spiked warm/ cold drinks! They also had these fun fire games set up where you hit a target and a blast of fire lit up the sky - so cool! All of the drinks were amazing and they had a mug deal where if you bought the mug for $10 you could refill it for $3 - this was just for the party though. Everyone was super nice, even when my friend decided to make a hay angel after tripping in the drink line. It's also fun that Paddle Stop Brewery is across the street so we could choose from cocktails or beer. We kept saying that we felt like we stepped into Hallmark movie, with all the small town charm! This is an annual event and we can't wait to make the stop next year!!

I had seen the had some higher priced bottles (maybe someday) but i was sure I would find something i liked. I was also sure it would be one of there bourbons . . . . but I ended up leaving with 3 different corn whiskies. One made from red corn, one from blue corn, and a red, white, and blue corn whiskey (250th anniversary of the USA remember). I showed up around 4:00 PM and hadn't signed up for a tour but they were happy to give me a quick tour as well as walk me through every single whiskey. I had a sample flight and ended up taking hme one or two more than planned. Oh, and the guy actually makes wood hats too. You can try them on too.
