Several years ago, while visiting in Kansas City, I ordered a Hibiscus Gin & Tonic at Jack Stack Barbecue. I feel in love with the drink and discovered Pinckney Bend. Sadly, however, I could not order any to ship home to California. A return visit to Missouri was planned and a road trip to The Hermann Wine Trail area was mapped out. Our first stop? Pinckney Bend in New Haven, of course! Planning to purchase a bottle of hibiscus gin and tonic mix, I left with three bottles of gin, two of the hibiscus tonic mix, one corn whiskey, a four-pack of premixed G&TS and Hibhounds in cans, a super-soft t-shirt and one travel-sized PB 8 oz flask, complete with 2 metal shot glasses! Oh yeah, they also sell drinks of the patio for a whopping $5! Support this local business and tell them Pat sent you! Cheers read more

Made a stop after hitting the wineries to attend their anniversary party and it was so much fun! The distillery, located in New Haven, is nestled between the railroad tracks and the river and both were more than adorable! There were special tastings inside and outside they had fire pits, bales of hay to sit on, fried food on sticks, live music and spiked warm/ cold drinks! They also had these fun fire games set up where you hit a target and a blast of fire lit up the sky - so cool! All of the drinks were amazing and they had a mug deal where if you bought the mug for $10 you could refill it for $3 - this was just for the party though. Everyone was super nice, even when my friend decided to make a hay angel after tripping in the drink line. It's also fun that Paddle Stop Brewery is across the street so we could choose from cocktails or beer. We kept saying that we felt like we stepped into Hallmark movie, with all the small town charm! This is an annual event and we can't wait to make the stop next year!! read more

We had an awesome experience doing a tasting at Pinckney Bend. The staff was super friendly, they took care of us really well, it was a great, laid back experience!! Keith lead our tasting and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The other staff was great to just converse with. The establishment was clean and well maintained. Definitely recommend visiting this distillery for a tasting, or just to pick up merch! read more

Brought our friends visiting from Louisiana. We had a great time with all the shops in the area and learning about the Gins and Whisky's of Pinckney Bend. I love that they use the corn of the cob from the harvest of Washington's Missouri Meerschaum corn cob pipe. My favorite drink is the gin and tonic made from the American Gin with syrup but now I have a favorite whiskey too! Apple Ambush! read more

My daughter and I visited last Sunday. Greg conducted our tasting. He is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, animated, and entertaining. The tasting is only $5. You get to pick from 3 flights: Traditional, Gin. and Whiskey. Each flight includes 5 different spirits. I did the Whiskey flight. My daughter tried the Traditional flight. Sharing is encouraged. My flight included Rested American Whiskey, Seasonal Heirloom Wiskey, Stout Cask Whiskey, Zin Cask Whiskey, and Port Cask Whiskey. My daughter's flight included America Vodka, Corn Whiskey, Rested American Whiskey, Apple Ambush, and American Gin. You get to keep the Pickney Bend glass. Spirits and souvenirs are for sale on the premises. read more

Went with my mom for a pre-dinner drink. Such a cute location and vibe. Make sure you try the hibiscus gin and get some cans to take home with you. The bar inside is cozy yet plenty of seating options outside too. A stone's throw away from other bars/main drag of New Haven. I wish they would open up a location in STL! read more

A very interesting experience tasting flight for $5. Folks are very friendly. We were expecting a tour more than just tasting. I can understand they are very busy. Guests keep coming in. No free hand to show us facilities. I will suggest visit them in a none busy day. The Americans whisky has won double gold. Some how I like the navy blue gin more. read more

Our group 8 stopped here on a Saturday. We were greeted as soon as we popped in the door and said they would be with us shortly as soon as the bar cleared out a little. It was a nice setup. Our server was knowledgeable about the products and gave a great history and little tidbits about their products. You can choose between 3 flights or you can build your own. They have a traditional flight, whiskey flight, and a Gin/Vodka flight. After each flight, they follow up with their signature drink. G&T, with Tonic Syrup they make in house. Really good flight, but the G&T, OMG. That was delicious. It definitely made me buy the Gin and Tonic Syrup. The other amazing thing is they carry the G&T in cans, so it is "to go" ready, yay! After the tasting, there is a small Merchandise area where you can buy products with their logo as well as bottles of their delicious liquors. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I had the most amazing time here. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff, and some of the best gin we have ever tasted. A must visit. read more

Our group of 6 adults and 4 children visited Pinckney Bend on a "huh, well there's this..." whim and it was a home run. JT was our bartender and he was awesome. Had lots of information and answered any and all questions. Made for a great 20 minute tasting session. Even made "virgin" gin and tonics for the kids. Staff in the adjoining gift shop were very helpful as well. It got a little crowded during our time there, but the tasting sessions cycle out pretty quickly, so if it seems crazy when you get there, be patient and the crowd moves through. Perfect stop on the way to or on the way home from a trip to Herrmann from St Louis. I'd even recommend for an afternoon getaway from St Louis on its own. Their liquors are available at most grocery and liquor stores in the STL area. read more

Fun place to go with a group or if you just want to taste and learn about whiskey, gin and other spirits. They do not serve food and the indoor area is limited to the tasting room and the gift shop. You can order drinks on the patio and it is right by the Missouri River for a walk or a picnic. New Haven is small but there are some other interesting shops to explore. People are nice and willing to talk distilling in detail. I'll go back! read more

We stopped here on our way out of Hermann and we are so glad we did! The people here are SO extremely friendly. I was not sure if they were dog friendly, so I dropped my husband off to do a tasting and waited in the car with my dog and baby. One of the people who works here saw me in my car and informed me that I could bring both of them in. They are the MOST dog friendly people I have ever met. They greeted us with open arms and had some dog treats as well. We ended up ordering 3 bottles (2 apple) because their product is as great as they are! We also got a military discount. I would highly recommend stopping here on your way into or out of Hermann. read more

Worth the trip to downtown New Haven to try their indulgences. They have a creative adult happy carryout box available with 3 varieties packs to choose from. read more

Covid caused our tasting to be takeout to some riverside tables. I love a good bourbon and I was thoroughly impressed from the first taste. These are very high quality. The gin and tonic is also through the roof as other reviews have noted. We focused on off the beaten path wineries during our latest visit to the area, but Pinckney Bend Distillery was the highlight and will be on every return visit to the Hermann area . Oh yeah, and I brought home over $200 of their product back to Kansas. read more

Super friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and inexpensive tastings what else could you ask for!? Oh good tasting alcohol... They have that too! For $5 you get a souvenir glass to keep along with one tasting flight (all gin, all whiskey, or their traditional flight which includes a little gin, their vodka and some whiskey). Each ends with their "perfect gin and tonic" which features their very own tonic syurp. It's delicious. We take people here when they visit us or friends in STL that haven't been before and people that don't like gin and tonic even like theirs. The only thing that we have seen change is one time we got a tour but that hasn't been offered since so I'm not sure if you pay extra for that now or if they are doing construction across the street. But either way the experience is great! read more

Pretty nice selection of whiskey and gin. Tastings are $5 each. There are four different drinks with each flight. The tasting ends with a delicious gin and tonic with their own special tonic syrup. That was my favorite part! There's not much around the area but it's worth a stop if you're driving through. read more

Definitely worth the stop if you are driving down 100. In our visit a vodka (nice and clean) a gin (juniper on the nose but not overpowering) a corn whiskey (45 proof and great for mixing) a "settled" 100 proof traditional whiskey and a in house made tonic. As I said a great place to stop in and taste ($5) and tour. Takes about 20-30 mins depending how much you like to chat. Everyone on staff (4 people) were very friendly. read more

What a great lil place tucked away in New Haven. Spent 5 wonderful years in New Haven with my wife ( a 4th plus generation NH family), during this time how much nicer it would have been had we had this This is a credit to the folks who own the distillery, a top class range of whisky, Gin and Vodka. Our guide Chad, did an excellent job, knowledgeable, funny and understood Australian!!! As a dedicated Scotch Whiskey guy, it was very nice to try other styles. None of the samples disappointed, neither did the Gin or Vodka. I know they have been winning many awards Nationally & Internationally, and so deservingly so. Make the trek to New Haven when in the area, you will be glad you did when sampling the "nectar of the gods".... read more

Fun experience, great people and even better drinks! You won't leave without tasting their signature gin and tonic. In fact you probably won't leave without purchasing a few bottles to make the delicious concoction at home. This place is in New Haven between Washington and Hermann. Definitely worth the stop and then swing by Astral glass for a thumbler glass to drink your gin and tonics in at home. read more

Worth the trip from Hermann for sure. They are doing to go tastings right now, which means you can sample your spirits at a picnic table in the park across the street, overlooking the river. The highlight is definitely the canned gin and tonic, and I say that as a person who usually doesn't care for gin. We loved it enough to pick up a four-pack to take with us! read more

Living in St. Louis, you've probably been on at least 3 brewery tours. Here in the heart if beer country, it's hard to find locally made liquor. Pinckney Bend, which is less than an hour away from most St. Louis neighborhoods, not only makes liquor--it makes award winning liquor. The experience and the product are well worth the drive. $5 gets you a flight sample (either traditional, including 2 kinds of gin, 2 kinds of whiskey, and vodka, or the whiskey flight, including 5 kinds of small batch whiskeys), a gin and tonic made with their in-house concocted tonic syrup, a tour of the still and production line, and a brief history of the stretch of the Missouri River that the distillery is named after. As other reviewers have noted, the staff loves what they do. You may ask all the questions you like, and you'll receive informed, thorough answers. Simply put, the tour is a delight. read more

This place is exactly what I'd have wanted with a visit to a small distillery. Me and some friends were the only ones there at the time, we were all given tastes of everything they had to offer, and the apprentice distiller was enthusiastic and informative. You keep the glass (an attractive one), and between when they give it to you and when they leave, all sorts of wonderful stuff goes in there. I respect how personable this was and that it felt like the guy was actually interested in chatting with us. About the booze: They do very interesting things. I've never been a white whiskey fan, I'm still not, but this one is a notch above others (still didn't buy a bottle). The gin was truly tasty, a gin that can be consumed on its own. Their best though, is their wood-aged whiskey. The barrel their aging it in tastes a little more like french toasted oak than american virgin oak that's in your typical bourbon. Makes the wood taste unique and delicious on each sip. If their spirits were a little more money than I expected, I believed it worth it to give money to a new distiller that deserves to stick around. I'd happily buy this whiskey in a store, should it make it to Chicago. read more

We had a great time this past Saturday. We had been to Augusta doing the wine tours and stopped by one and they told us to be sure to check out this place. We are so happy we went there. It was so much fun tasting all of their whiskey, vodka and gin. I'm still not a fan of gin, but everyone else in our party thought it was pretty good. The drink at the end was awesome as they let you replace the gin with vodka or whiskey. The tour is pretty awesome. It's a small operation but they have a great love for the gift of distilling. I never knew there was so much work that goes into creating a great tasting product. We bought a bottle of resting whiskey and a bottle of tonic water. Just a great experience that is only $5, you keep the glass and you get to learn a bit of history along the way. Make sure you stop and check this out. read more

Had a traditional flight. Tasted whiskey gin vodka. Both the gin and vodka were surprisingly smooth. There were at least 9 to 10 different whiskey styles. A very worthwhile stop if you're in the area. Our "bartender" was very informative. read more

Wow! What a great surprise and experience in New Haven! The Vodka, Gin and Bourbon are as good as any that I have ever had. Be sure to do the tastings that include all of these and I bet you'll be hooked as well. Their tonic syrup makes an outstanding mixed drink as well. I'm really proud to see the outstanding product they are putting out and would not be surprised to see Pinckney Bend put New Haven on the map across the US as a destination for spirits. read more

What is better than talking about premium small batch liquor with a cool/nerdy distiller? Not much, eh? Go to the distillery and drop the $5 for a tasting of the whiskey, you get a gin and tonic at the end so don't taste the vodka/gin unless you are a hardcore vodka/gin fan. Everything is tasty and chances are you will find something that you like. You can also take a quick (5 min) tour of the distillery. The tonic mix is very nice, I took a bottle with me for the next party I throw (I bought the gin at a liquor store near my house). Check this place out and look around at the rest of the town, it is a quiet town with a vintage/retro 50's era movie theatre. read more

Best tonic in the whole wide world. Thank you Natasha's on Grand (St. Louis )for the introduction. Their gin is purdy darn good too. =)

Great tasting and phenomenal whiskey. They have a cozy little tasting room. Honestly the best gin and tonic that I have ever had.

What a fantastic and unexpected find! Whisky and Gin that are amongst the best you'll ever taste and really good vodka too. This place is really starting to get noticed and visitors are streaming in. We were shoulder to shoulder in the tasting room while the fun and knowledgeable staff took us through our tasting flights, all of which are well worth the $5 and includes the glass. Stop by on the way to or from Hermann, or just make New Haven your destination. read more

This is the REAL Deal... Stopped while traveling from Southern Calif, and after tasting some local wines, I truly didn't expect much... well, this was by far the best booze I've tasted in a long time, the rested whiskey was just want I need back home sitting outside by the fireplace... this is TRUE sipping whiskey, and I hoping it takes off as I know I'll go though what I got very quick!
