3.5/5 for me Came here on an early Saturday afternoon with a party bus to the wineries in Augusta. They have a small inside area with a bar where you can sample some wines and make your purchase. There is a HUGE outdoor area with a covered section of tables and other tables that overlook the grapes. The view is amazing! They also had live music outside which added to the vibe. I got a wine flight and honestly didn't really enjoy the ones I picked which is why this is a 3.5/5 for me. The location, the view, the knowledgeable and friendly staff all make this a worthy spot to visit. We visited on a Sunday in November. This winery really shines in terms of their beautiful, serene grounds, with rolling hills, trees and vineyards. There are lots of seating options outside. On the day we visited, there was live music in their large heated tent. In terms of wine, their offerings include dry, sweet and sparkling wines plus gluten-free sangrias and ciders. Servers were very knowledgeable and helpful getting us some selections that they thought we would enjoy (including samples to help us make a choice). There are curated flights of 4 for $10 or you can create your own customizable flight for $12. The wine was okay (the Chambourcin was my favorite). We really enjoyed their canned sangrias and brought some home. Their cider is excellent as well. You can bring your own picnic, which we appreciate since we have food allergies. There were lots of snacks for purchase, plus hot food. Dogs are not allowed (except service dogs). Plenty of parking right outside their main building. read more

Its hard to believe this is in St. Louis area and not "Wine country". The view is so beautiful - lots of shaded areas and a big tent that you can sit facing out towards the vineyard while staying in the shade. The service is incredibly friendly and the tastings are reasonable to be able to determine what you want to buy a bottle of - I believe the Reserve (~38 for the bottle) was the one I went with and it was delightful. Lots of snacks available for purchase inside and some meals available for purchase that are not bagged/grocery snacks. They make fresh homemade cookies, too. (Sadly, not gluten free so I can't tell you if they are good but they were huge and looked delicious.) We had such a lovely day and only ~35 mins outside of St. Louis it was so unassuming and it seems like there is no way this beautiful vineyard on a hill could possibly be in Missouri. read more

Loved my visit here! The $10 tasting allows you to choose 4 wines from a large list - including their reserve wines. My friend & I chose our wines and posted up in the tent area overlooking the vineyard. The Middlr Barrel Aged Vigner and Vol IX Port Wine were the highlights for me. This was the first stop of my winery hopping adventure. I must say Rick and Ms.Rhonda are an asset to your company. Way to go with putting them on the front line. They were very welcoming, friendly, genuine, knowledgeable of your company and inviting. Other staff were friendly as well but they stood out. They explained the history behind the business, helped us understand what we were tasting during my friend and I wine tasting . Gave great recommendations on food and wine. We decided on the City Park Pizza. OMG it was freaking delicious and finger licking good. Plenty of seating around the vineyard, very relaxing, and comfortable atmosphere. Picturesque views. Music was soothing . Prices very reasonable. Had never stopped here in previous trips to MO wine country. We enjoyed a flight paired with the baguette and olive oil. It was great! We each picked a wine flight to match our taste preferences. We found them quite approachable. The zucchini flatbread description doesn't do it justice. It's fantastic. The staff was friendly. First off, you're welcome to bring your own picnic--there's no pressure from the staff to purchase food on-site, which is a nice touch. Parking is a breeze with a large lot available, and the wine flight did not disappoint. With Noboleis midway through the day. What we love about Noboleis is their stunning property, wine flights and food options! I personally love their thin crust pizza. They will also let you bring your own food and picnic outside or under their tent as well. We usually see a semi-private party like a Bridal Shower or something happening under their tent. A BEAUTIFUL winery! Fields abode and green lawns galore. This winery just made sense. You park and you walk into the only building you could walk into and you're given a menu to choose 4 wines to taste. You bring the flight out and sit either under the shaded trees, inside the live music tent, or away from the hustle and bustle and towards the fields. Highly recommend opting for the last. This beautiful winery also has food available but allows you to bring your own. Amazing. Appreciated on a student budget. This was the fist stop on our winery crawl so it wasn't too busy, the sangria was tasty, music was great and the views were lovely. The tasting room is small but that definitely makes for a more personal experience and they have lots of tables around the grassy areas surrounding the tent. Live music was set up in the tent and the views from that space and really anywhere on the hill were amazing. It wasn't too hot when we were there but it's nice to have a covered space with fans to retreat to if it was warm. In addition to the tasting and bottles they also offer cans of sangria (that were delicious) so you don't have to commit to a whole bottle but could have more than one glass. You can bring your own food in so it's a nice place to picnic as well. The mulberry tree is gorgeous but strictly off limits and we had a good chuckle about what drunken shenanigans must have occurred to make them rope it it off with signs to stay off, lol. The employees here are engaging, friendly and truly know their wine. As a novice wine drinker, I found them super helpful and informative. It was the perfect mix of a family run winery while being big and fun. The wine there was delicious and super affordable. My fiancé and I prefer dry wine, which is not common in STL, but Noboleis has a fantastic selection. They have 4 events a year for their wine club members and let them vote on the kind of events you want them to hold. This process really makes you feel appreciated and part of the family. A great winery stop on the Augusta Wine Trail. Lots of pretty views here of the vineyard and valley. The women serving were so friendly and welcoming! There are many seating options including inside, outside, and in a heated tent. The tasting itself is less involved, more brewery style - wines placed on a paddle and you can take it wherever to drink it. I liked the wines, my favorite was the Moscato (I love sweet wine). The special wine, maple bourbon, was awesome and an amazing deal when included with the $8 tasting and the bottle is $79. read more

I brought my family to Noboleis for an enchanting afternoon when I redeemed my 2013 MO Winery Passport at Noboleis a couple of weeks ago. We scheduled a tasting and tour for 8, but then found out some family were coming into town and hoped to get together with us. Just a couple of days before the reservation, Noboleis added another tasting to our reservation and three more people (non-wine drinkers) to the tour. I appreciate how accommodating they were in doing so. We took up most of the counter, which made for a memorable and intimate family tasting. Some were dry fans, some were sweet and some were uncertain, but the tasting room attendant did not try to get us all to taste the same thing or get at all confused. She even had some of us try a couple of extra wines, including a port, when we officially had completed all of our tastings but still wanted to try a few more. After the 15-minute tour, during which the friendly guide informed us on the wine production process, nearly everyone in our party purchased some wine and food. Noboleis started a tab for me, so I just ran in and told them what I wanted and didn't have to waste time paying 3 or 4 times in an afternoon. You know the wines and winery are good when individuals in your party decide to purchase both bottles and glasses with the name of the winery. It means they want to remember the day... and we had just started! As Noboleis allows outside food, we had quite the spread of fruit, cheese/meat/crackers, chips, candy, and other snacks. It was more like a small party, except no frenzied cleaning of a house in advance, and not much cleaning up at closing time. We just selected a corner under a large tent and took over a couple of tables. We conversed, took photos, explored the vineyard and made memories on one of the most beautiful days I can remember at the winery with, hands-down, the most beautiful setting on the entire wine trail. The view at Noboleis beats all others because you're right in the middle of it all. I loved that though Noboleis' hours are until 5, staff understands that guests are reluctant to depart paradise and drop a hint by bussing tables and emptying trash cans rather than by directly asking us to leave. The only constructive criticism I can offer Noboleis is that the restroom situation leaves something to be desired. Noboleis gets pretty busy by mid-afternoon, and one restroom for females doesn't quite cut it. I'd love to see them invest in additional facilities. However, this is the case with many wineries in the area, so I can't hold it against them. One more thing: I love that Noboleis allows minors. Yes, there are pros and cons to allowing minors, but when the minor you want to bring is your 19-year-old cousin who is visiting the state for the weekend, it's great that some wineries will welcome her, her parents, and her grandmother! Noboleis made MO seem pretty cool. Plus there's so much space for little kids to run around in sight of their family without being a nuisance. There were several kids there, and all seem engaged by their surroundings. Thank you, Noboleis, for providing the perfect setting and beverages for our family get-together. In business three years now, Noboleis has a wonderfully diverse selection of whites, reds, and rosés spanning dry to quite sweet. FACILITIES: A small-ish but brightly lit tasting room that (apparently) fills up during summer and busy months. I'm told that during that time they also pour outside as they have live music and a tented seating area. Indoor seating is limited and tasting at the counter is standing only. Gravel parking at the tasting building. SERVICE: Big caveat here--we tasted in the dead of winter on a weekday. For a while, it was just our server, the vintner and his apprentice, my girlfriend, and me. This made for an awesome opportunity to leisurely try their wines while chatting with the engaging staff. WINES: Can't say much as wine is truly about individual taste. However, I can say I found a few wines I liked, walked away with one bottle, and wouldn't mind buying more in the future (apparently they sell around St. Louis/St. Louis County). Four stars as I have yet to see how the experience is when the place is in full swing. read more

The workers (perhaps owners) we're not entertaining or talkative. It almost made the wine tasting awkward because they sat there and waited for you to finish your wine, as though they were just ready to get you through and make the next pour. Their prices are higher than Montel, although they do let you bring in your own food, which is a positive. They're dry whites were pleasant, although I found myself relatively disappointed with the red variety. And of the tasting room presentation and size is less than desirable. This was our favorite winery and we had belonged to the wine club at one time, although over an hour trip for us. At our last visit we went in knowing what we wanted to buy but wanted to taste before purchasing. We know different years can change the taste. An STL today coupon brought me and my parents here to try out the new winery. Our tasting started out well, but was transitioned from one guy, presumably the owner? to a woman who was very abrupt and non friendly, then to a younger girl who seemed very new at the process and new at describing their wines. So, let's just say that our first 10 minutes or so was very off putting. After making our purchases, we went outside to witness a very characterless scene. The requisite 50+ y/o solo guitar guy playing requisite reworkings of James Taylor and other adult baby food music was there, along with a small amount of listeners, who seemed rather bored. There just wasn't a lot going on. Not that every winery in Augusta has to be as raucous as the next, but Noboleis seemed to be unable to let loose and have a good time. It felt like that time period when a couple moves into a new house in a new subdivision that looks like all the rest on the inside and they try to keep things as plain and neutral as possible so they don't mess anything up. Maybe eventually, NV&W will get over this fear and develop a welcoming, lived in feeling that will draw more and different types of crowds. read more

I loved my recent trip to Nobeleis Vineyards. I had never heard of them, but decided to check them out after a seasoned vet of the Augusta wine circuit told me how great they were. What a great little place. The staff was very knowledgeable about the wines and told me a lot about what they're working on for the future. They've only been open for one year, so their wines are young. I actually found a white wine that I enjoyed in their Vidal Blanc. The sparkling was also nice. They had a good looking lunch menu, but I didn't try any of the food. The view is fantastic. They have a nice patio and of course, live music, but you can drag a few chairs away from the main pavilion and enjoy the scenery. Wines run around $6 a glass. They do free tastings. Although we live near Augusta it had been years since we've visited a winery there. I did some research to try to find a nice one that allowed you to bring your own food and had beautiful views, and ended up at Noboleis. We were not disappointed!
