So rude. They sell cheap items at a ridiculous price. Very rude owner and screws people over. Saw a lady who knew the owner. She got a medium coffee for 6 dollars and I got a small for 7 dollars, which is outrageous. Never going back, so rude. As a culinary student I am appalled. Not to mention they'll let some people use their bathrooms and others not... I saw someone go to their bathroom and then when I saw those same people leave and I asked them to use the restroom, they said no. We LOVE Espresso Laine! We come to Hermann yearly and we stop in here several times over the weekend. Always has the cutest items in the shop. The scones are to die for, the best scones you'll ever have! Pumpkin is my favorite but if you want to grab this get there really early! The vanilla bean and lemon blueberry are also amazing! And to add- my mom stopped into grab our group scones for bfast Saturday morning and asked the owner if they had any pumpkin because they are my favorite. They were sold out that day but the owner had some ready for the next day and went and grabbed one for my mom to have for me! How friggin awesome is that. My husband and I attempted to come here after our vacation home host told us about this coffee shop and raved about the owner here, telling us she would make us feel welcome. This was further from the experience I expected. To be honest, this shop was more shop than and ideal coffee shop, but more like a pick-up knick-knacks and a cup of coffee and go. When we walked in, the bathroom area was blocked by a worker who was gathering holiday decor or something. Anyhow, I asked about the bathroom because I desperately needed to go, and planned on staying and buying some coffee, but the girl told me that I had to ask for a key. No biggie since I've been to coffee shops that require a bathroom key. So, as I went to the counter the proprietor was busy chatting away with customers and when she stopped chatting, noticing I had something that I needed to ask, she said, "Can I help you?" and I asked, "Can I please have the bathroom key?" and she said, "You will get it after you've made a purchase." I was put off, particularly as she continued her idle and pointless church talk with these people. We left and found a real coffee shop elsewhere. read more

What a cute coffee shop and just overall shop in Hermann! They had some really fun themed drink specials which I of course had to try. Yum! Beware, GPS may try to take you past the location. The girls working could be a little nicer when asking where their menu for food is (it was a tiny sign on the left of the counter) but told my husband the line was in the back before he could even get a word out. Adorable coffee shop in Historic Downtown Hermann. Cutest gifts, good variety of beverages, delicious assortment of scones & other baked goodies. I believe there are other menu items but I didn't get past the carrot cake! We have the Vietnamese Iced Coffee espresso. I loved the chocolate espresso bean that was laid on the top of my lid. The beverage was delicious. The carrot cake was moist & tasty. We had a nice with the owner. How lovely is she!!! She's such a doll & so friendly. This is such a cute coffee shop! We loved browsing the items for sale, which are all interesting and high quality items. The sitting area was nice and large and the kids loved the games available at the tables. Most importantly, the drinks and food were delicious! Funky Monkey was a favorite. We came for breakfast nearly every day of our stay. The kolache and quiche are so good, and we loved the scones. It was so nice having milk alternatives and gluten free options, as well. We ran into the owner near closing and she was very sweet and her dog is adorable. Highly recommend stopping by this place if you are in town. read more

I do think this is the better coffee shop in town. Positives: the gift shopping is WONDERFUL! So many adorable coffee cups and other trinkets/gifts for sale. The espresso has a good flavor. Warm drinks are served hot. Negatives: unless you personally know someone working there, I'm not sure that your coffee is going to be all that special (except the price will definitely be). I ordered their Hot Caramel Delight and not sure there's much caramel... I couldn't really taste it so I sprinkled on cocoa and cinnamon to give it some kind of flavor besides coffee. Also, I expected whipped cream like the menu says but there wasn't any and the line was so long I decided not to ask. The previous day I had gotten a medium S'mores latte and I couldn't really taste the syrup either. I don't memorize how many pumps should be in a medium or large for the flavor to be recognizable, but I'm going to have to figure that out and be very specific when I order. I think I'll just stick to a plain latte and call it a day. The kolache was good, even cold it was good. read more

We came here for the third day in a row today! It's the most wonderful place with staff who will simply make your day from the moment they greet you. Almost like Reese Witherspoon's twin, Campbell is a darling ray of sunshine. I keep ordering a hot latte with 2% and sugar-free caramel and chocolate that defies its skinny status. They also have adorable and/or hilarious gift items throughout this charming vintage spot (it's also spotless btw). We travel through about every 3 years. Have never had a bad experience at Espresson Laine in Hermann MO. Got there today around 3pm not busy and it always smells like a million bucks. We'd had not so good food at lunch time it was SO SAD and we were starving for something especially sweet. BEST ITALIAN CREME CAKE ever!!! We chanced upon this cute coffee shops when an unexpected caffeine craving hit us in Hermann. We were about an hour before closing time and sat down to a nice evening snack and caffeine. The young woman at the front desk was very lovely and helped us make tea and coffee selections. Our beverages were excellent. However, most of all, I remember the delicious and moist slice of carrot cake we had. It was very indulgent and rich. The cafe has tables and couches , in a area which doubles as a small gift store. They have patio seating as well , but it was too hot to sit outside that day. The upstairs has a bed and breakfast. I would love to go back if I am in the area! read more

Stopped in during a wine visit in Hermann with an old Marine buddy. Very friendly, comfortable environment. Lots of tables and room very spacious. Ordered a latte and coffee cake while setting up a checkers game. Lots of bakery items to choose from. Also stock wide variety of gift items and children's toys. Purchased a couple glass mugs and pastry items to eat on the way back to hotel via Amtrak. Latte & coffee cake were excellent. Highly recommend. We stopped in a few times during our trip to Hermann, MO. I intended to try both coffee shops in town but loved this place so much we kept coming back. The shop is absolutely adorable! She has gathered a fun collection of coffee and tea accessories and products products, along with gifts like scented candles, totes, just to name a few. The atmosphere inside is cozy and it reminded me of gift shops I would see throughout New England. My husband and I sat down and played a few games of chess while we enjoyed our coffees one morning (until he was tired of losing to me). The owner and the staff were all very friendly. You felt genuinely welcomed when you walked in the doors. It was a nice touch! The displays of pastries were beautiful. I didn't try one but should have. I love a good scone and the various flavors were very tempting! We had espresso drinks and smoothies during our visits. All were very good. I didn't like the required minimum payment for a card though. If one person is getting a coffee or a treat, just pay with cash. It will not be enough for the minimum payment. I rarely carry cash so it was an inconvenience for me. I will definitely be back when I visit Hermann, MO! read more

We popped in for a quick coffee and bite to eat and we're not disappointed. My husband had a black and tan coffee and he really enjoyed it. Since he is not a frilly coffee drinker he struggles to find truly good coffee so he was so pleased to find this. I had a tiramisu coffee and found that I really liked it. We each had a scone and I will say they were fabulous and we plan on going back for more on our next trip.
