Biggest tourist trap in Hermann, but I like tourist traps. It can also be referred to as a confectionary or a candy store. Filled with delicious chocolates, candies, and home made pie. I tried a slice of the apple butter pumpkin pie and my wife had the German chocolate pie and they were both absolutely delicious. They do have a couple of tables so you'll have a place to sit and enjoy. It's a cool place and worth the stop especially if you like pie and let's face it, everyone loves a good pie. read more

This is the cutest little candy shop. The owner greeted us as soon as we walked in and was just all around pleasant. The front of the shop has a few tables in case you want to eat your treats right there on the spot. The back of the shop is full of candy and interesting little knickknacks. TL:DR - Unofficial town center. Can provide any information you may need on anything in town. Small candy shop operation with large selection of local ice-creams and pies. Get the pecan pie cheesecake! You won't be disappointed. On my visit to Hermann, EVERYONE talked about Sugar Momma's. It may as well have been the unofficial center of town. Coming in on a Sunday, it was one of the very few places open on Monday. Not only that, but they also have a copy of every single menu in town and can tell you what's open and what's good. Everyone inside was super friendly (much like the town in general) and it was very cutely decorated. Regarding the shop itself, it has a ton of different candies, homemade rice crispy treats, a huge selection of small pre-packaged ice-cream flavors, and pies made with local ingredients (including some local wines). I personally got one slice of the pecan pie cheese cake, which is exactly as it sounds, it's a cheesecake base with a thin layer of pecan pie filling and a pecan layer on top. This is the most amazing dessert I've ever had in my life. The pecan pie portion somehow compliments the creamy cheesecake well. I had to come back the next day to buy some for my family back home. Will def be back next time I'm in town for an entire pie all to myself. read more

I love this place!!! They have tons of candy and really good ice cream, including Adam Puchta's Jazz Berry Ice Cream! In addition to sweet treats, they have quite a few fun items around the store. Last time I was here, I got my super religious sister a funny coin purse with Pope Francis on it. This time I got my new baby an adorable onesie (see pic). Ill start by saying this review is based completely on the experience and nothing to do with the products (as we didnt get anything). We arrived 5 mins before time to open. Sign said open, so we tried the door, it was locked. Stood there for a good 30 secs trying the door and looking inside. We have a seat on the bench. The lady then comes and turns the sign to closed (opens in 5 mins). Then steps outside, never acknowledges us or says hi or smile ... she puts out a sign, walks back in and flips the sign over saying they were open. . . we decided to go to the place across the street... read more

We stopped in her last Friday and loved this little sweet shop. Whoever was working during the ice storm was so nice! They sell "old time" candy, caramels, truffles, custard, pies, taffy, and breakfast pies etc. They also sell cute little gifts (a little pricey IMO). We stocked up before the storm and got: -key lime cheesecake pie- my friend said it was pretty good -PB pie- this was alright -Ted Drews custard- I've never had Ted Drews and thought it was so-so -Caramels- awesome -Blackberry Candy - Next time I'm there I need to see if they have old fashioned lemon drops -Breakfast pie- apple and bacon- amazing and would've been better if I'd warmed it up! The workers are so sweet and so helpful! They described all of the locally made ice cream and pies to me as well as all of their candy. They have a huge variety of candy and a decent variety of pies and ice cream. The only reason I'm giving them four stars is because I didn't try their pie, which I'm sure is amazing! read more

Stopped in here after a recommendation to before we left Hermann and I'm already counting the days until we can get back. Staff is super friendly, talking to us the entire time. There is a wide variety of sweets to choose from, as well as cutesy little shop items. We chose the individual banana cream pie as our treat. She made sure to box it up as we weren't sure when we were going to eat it as we had to drive the rest of the day. It was delicious and gobbled up the moment we stuck the fork in it. I really wish we had gotten another one but that just means another trip to Hermann is in the works! read more

We happened to be in Hermann and wanted a pie to bring to a party. The strawberry rhubarb was so yummy! The filling was homemade and delicious. The crust was a bit thick, but good.
