What is better on a break from the day to day then specialty chocolates! No picture of the carrot cake truffle as I ate it as soon as we walked out of the shop! Yummmmmm. A huge selection sold by the pound so you can select 1 of anything and taste as much as you want. It smells amazing inside of course!!!

I was absolutely overwhelmed by all the tasty looking options. But I have to say that's after eating the pieces I got, I was underwhelmed. Immediately in your right after entering is a shelf of about 15 different flavors of fudge with sample jars in front. They sell the fudge is small pieces which I think is super awesome because I never want an entire half or whole pound of fudge. So I began sampling and none of them really did it for me...as far as fudge goes, this was less sweet than I'm used to. I also wasn't too crazy about the carrot cake truffle or the couple pieces I had that contained caramel. The caramel stuck to my teeth quite a bit more than I would've liked. However, I will say the chocolate dipped Oreo and the espresso truffle were pretty darn good! As always, it just depends on what you like.

Stopped in with the Lady for some local sweets. First impression when walking through the door is wow. Glass cases wow you with sweets from every angle. I had to try some of the chocolate covered bacon, salted caramel, and the Lady goes for a cheesecake bon bon, a peanut cluster, and a red velvet cake bon bon. My bacon good but a little heavy on the smoke. Not the chocolate makers fault, I'd just recommend a less smokey bacon. The sea salt caramel square was simply the best thing I had all day. So good. The Lady liked the cheese cake bon bon, but not the red velvet. The peanut cluster was made with good chocolate, but was just too dense. Overall we enjoyed the sights and flavors. A must stop for anyone with a sweet tooth. The Good Wow factor walking through the door. Chocolate by the pound. Lots of variety. Some amazing Sea Salt Caramel The Bad Over smokey bacon. Red Velvet fail on the bon bon. The Ugly Nada this place is A-OK.

I like this place so much that I decided to save this to be my 600th review... I am sometimes prone to hyperbolize my recollection of an experience when I really, really like something. That is not the case with this statement: these folks make some of the best toffee I've ever had! Their pecan toffee is nothing short of amazing. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Flavor that transcends the toffee/chocolate/nuts experience and becomes something altogether more impressive than any component when eaten by itself. This is what other toffee wants to be when it grows up! It may sound a little strange that I am THIS much in love with their toffee but I will make a special trip just to get more at some point in the near future, Not sure when, but I will probably wake up early on a Saturday morning and demand the whole family pile into the car so we can go back for more toffee. Also, at $16 per pound for anything in the store, they are something of a bargain when it comes to handmade chocolate products.

The most important thing that you need to know about Ricky's chocolate box is... Everything is sold by the pound! $16 a pound. That means that you can have one of every kind of chocolate that he sells., and if you do, Ricky will give it to you at 20% off! I absolutely adored the English toffee. Buttery, chocolatey, perfection that melts in your mouth! Remember, the next time you're in Hermann buying wine, nothing goes better with Port than chocolate!

If you're looking for a winemaking family who is passionate about the details - down to the genetics and ancestors of their grapes - then look no further! We would have loved a tour, but they were booked for the day (go early to make sure you get a spot!), but the tasting was a great second option! For $15 you try six wines from their very large list. They'll teach you about each one too. If you like bourbons or whiskey, I'd highly recommend their Cream Sherry - it won 12th best American wine at the Decanter Wold Wine Competition (The world's largest and most influential wine competition) in recent years (just enjoy slowly - it's 19%!!). Also, they make their wines very affordable! From $11-$40, everything is in reach! (They do have a $75 reserve Norton on the list as of May 2026.) You can enjoy the restaurant on site, shop alllll the wine accessories, relax on their patio above the hills of vines, play a game of corn hole, and pose for a few photos. They've been continuously farming (taking a break from wine only during prohibition) for 179 years! You won't regret a visit if you enjoy wine!

Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

They have several signature cocktails. We tried one that was a caramel apple type of drink that was really good, especially since it is fall and chilly outside. The building is historic and used to be a bank and hardware store years ago. The interior exposed brick walls make this a real charming place to have a drink or grab a quick bite to eat. The menu is somewhat limited. They have a couple of Paninis, flatbreads and one or two choices on different sizes of pizzas. They also have some other sandwiches as well. I got the chipotle chicken Panini and she got a bacon cheddar chicken Panini. Both were good (we always share). The chipotle chicken was topped with tomatoes lettuce and onion and it was a really good sandwich. Both sandwiches only come with potato chips as a side. I wish there was a little more choice than a bag Premade chips. The sandwiches will set you back about $9 each, And the cocktail was 10 bucks. This is a fabulous addition to the downtown area and one more place to get a quick bite. Currently they're open most days of the week until 7 PM. they also have several choices for coffees in the morning.

The bartender was friendly and fast. I'll come back if I ever return to Hermann. It didn't look at all like a bank. Perhaps I was confused. Since the drinks are very rich, two is about all you can do, but they are with it.
