The store is a pretty good size for a Dollar General. Most of the checkout lines are self serve, but that's just the times in which we live. Everything was clean and orderly, and there were no boxes on the floor in the aisles, which was nice. I hope it stays that way, because for some reason Dollar General's tend to keep some of their merchandise in boxes on the floor.

Normally, my rating would be low for a situation like this, but then I realized that our server was working all the tables in there and had only one bus person for help! We had Hy-Vee make our wedding cake...our wedding. The cake…read morenot only tasted horrible and dry, it was the wrong color. We got married on 2024 but never reached out to them. Fast forward to last month or so and we tasted a birthday cake that a couple from our church got for their daughter. It was amazing. I felt duped and don't know if it's because there are different bakers and decorators now, but I really do hope it's better.

The pharmacy here is horrible with getting medications ready. I have never had a good experience…read morewith their pharmacy. I personally do not use it but my mother did before her death in 2011 and my father has used it recently and they have not gotten any better. Hospice sent script to them yesterday afternoon for my father. I went to get it, wasn't ready said be about half hour so I left and went back an hour later still not ready, excuse this time was no amount to dispense listed and to late to contact provider, would have been great to have known that the first time rather than come back 30 minutes. Explained again that this was medication for my father who just started hospice and we need the medication for pain and that hospice has staffing 24 hours. Contacted hospice and they got it straight. This isn't a one time issue with this pharmacy it's an every time my parents used it. We moved my mothers from there before she passed away and I've instructed hospice to move my father's scripts from there. Incompetence is the word best to describe this pharmacy, staff apparently do not communicate with each other and standard response for customers must be "not ready give us 30 minutes."

This location did have a nail and pedicure spot and a Claire's storefront along with the common First Community and a nice Subway. Police were out taking pictures and mingling with customers.
