It's a good grocery store. Wish they had more for the locals and the prices weren't so high but over all a decent place to shop.

I had driven through Hermann plenty of times but never stopped until April 29, 2026. Now I'm wondering why I waited so long. Right away, this place stands out--vending machines outside stocked with their own brats (available anytime) and a dog-friendly patio. Already a win. Inside, we were greeted by owner Mike Sloan, who took the time to walk us through everything. That level of hospitality sets the tone. The staff was fantastic, and while waiting for our food (which came out quickly), we checked out their in-house products and free samples--impressive doesn't even begin to cover it. Food highlights: Reuben on rye (daily special): incredible "Best of Show Bratwurst": must-order German potato salad: better than what I've had in Baden-Baden Smoked gouda pasta salad + traditional potato salad: both excellent After talking with Mike, it's clear why everything is so good--this is passion-driven craftsmanship. He even competes in Germany and regularly wins top honors. Bottom line: Don't skip this place. Hermann Wurst Haus is the real deal.

It had a great snap and their incredible kraut really made the meal. I also picked up some beef sticks, and a German ring bologna because you only live once. This is great stop in a charming little river town. Highly recommend getting lunch then walking around.

Went during lunch time on a Friday and took advantage of their lunch specials. Their pizza dough was airy and crispy, their mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce were very flavorful. Had a salad with their homemade lemon poppyseed dressing that was really good. If I lived here, this would be a place I would go back to often.

I have mixed feelings about this place because it started out very frustrating, with parking, a small waiting area, and a cranky host. It ended on a good note, however. I'll start off by saying that parking was really frustrating, because we had to drive around the block several times before we were able to find something that opened up. I realize that many businesses share this street, and want to point out that this is not the fault of 4th Street Pizza. Inside, it was very crowded with many people waiting. The area is so small that it wasn't easy to open the door. Once we got in, it took about 10 minutes for someone to take our name for the waiting list. She was very cranky, but later I would come to understand why. We were told of a 45-minute wait and that we could wait outside if we liked, where they would call our name when ready. We waited on a bench and saw a lot of people come and go who got there after us. Thankfully, my fiancé asked them about it, and they seated us right away. I think they forgot about us. Once we were seated, the service was very slow to start. Our appetizer got there in a decent amount of time, but the pizza took forever, and our drinks sat empty. Once the pizza arrived, it was huge and tasted great! Are drinks continuing to sit empty? Normally, my rating would be low for a situation like this, but then I realized that our server was working all the tables in there and had only one bus person for help! I can see why the server was cranky. I would have been too if I were the only server at a busy restaurant during rush hour. This entire restaurant had only one restroom that looked like it had not been cleaned since the Bicentennial. Again, it is probably a staffing issue. We would definitely go again to experience the pizza.

Fast forward to last month or so and we tasted a birthday cake that a couple from our church got for their daughter. It was amazing. The pharmacy here is horrible with getting medications ready. I have never had a good experience…read morewith their pharmacy. I personally do not use it but my mother did before her death in 2011 and my father has used it recently and they have not gotten any better. Hospice sent script to them yesterday afternoon for my father. I went to get it, wasn't ready said be about half hour so I left and went back an hour later still not ready, excuse this time was no amount to dispense listed and to late to contact provider, would have been great to have known that the first time rather than come back 30 minutes. Explained again that this was medication for my father who just started hospice and we need the medication for pain and that hospice has staffing 24 hours. Contacted hospice and they got it straight. This isn't a one time issue with this pharmacy it's an every time my parents used it. We moved my mothers from there before she passed away and I've instructed hospice to move my father's scripts from there. Incompetence is the word best to describe this pharmacy, staff apparently do not communicate with each other and standard response for customers must be "not ready give us 30 minutes."
