Great service and food was delicious at 4th St. Pizza! As soon as we came in, we were greeted by the delicious smell of food and the courteous staff. Went during lunch time on a Friday and took advantage of their lunch specials. Their pizza dough was airy and crispy, their mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce were very flavorful. Had a salad with their homemade lemon poppyseed dressing that was really good. If I lived here, this would be a place I would go back to often. read more

They were packed! Clearly a local (and visitor) favorite. We added jalapeños and red onions to the BBQ chicken pizza - so good! The salad with house made blue cheese was phenomenal. And the bottled root beer tasted like a root beer barrel candy - so sweet! Service was fabulous! Honestly though, the physical place could really use a freshen up. The lighting and entryway especially. (Ripped cushions etc) The other con - our pizza took about 45 minutes to come out. But they were completely booked too, so that makes some sense. Enjoy! We visited Hannibal for the day and let the time get away from us a little until we decided to stop for dinner. I have mixed feelings about this place because it started out very frustrating, with parking, a small waiting area, and a cranky host. It ended on a good note, however. I'll start off by saying that parking was really frustrating, because we had to drive around the block several times before we were able to find something that opened up. I realize that many businesses share this street, and want to point out that this is not the fault of 4th Street Pizza. Inside, it was very crowded with many people waiting. The area is so small that it wasn't easy to open the door. Once we got in, it took about 10 minutes for someone to take our name for the waiting list. She was very cranky, but later I would come to understand why. We were told of a 45-minute wait and that we could wait outside if we liked, where they would call our name when ready. We waited on a bench and saw a lot of people come and go who got there after us. Thankfully, my fiancé asked them about it, and they seated us right away. I think they forgot about us. Once we were seated, the service was very slow to start. Our appetizer got there in a decent amount of time, but the pizza took forever, and our drinks sat empty. Once the pizza arrived, it was huge and tasted great! Are drinks continuing to sit empty? Normally, my rating would be low for a situation like this, but then I realized that our server was working all the tables in there and had only one bus person for help! I can see why the server was cranky. I would have been too if I were the only server at a busy restaurant during rush hour. This entire restaurant had only one restroom that looked like it had not been cleaned since the Bicentennial. Again, it is probably a staffing issue. We would definitely go again to experience the pizza. read more

First of all i have been here many times. This time was different. We walked in, not a full restaurant and nobody waiting, we stood there for several minutes not being acknowledged. Then the waitress says are you here for a carry out order, we said no jist to eat. They said sit anywhere which we sat in a booth, the last one that was open, it wasn't clean. We waited for the waitress she brought us our drinks. My son has a dairy allergy, this restaurant offers the vegan cheese, they were out of vegan cheese. Which surprises me because this was the first day of the week. You would figure they would be stocked. I ordered chicken fettuccine but it came with no chicken so i had to send it back. They took my fork with it so when they brought it back my fork didn't come with it, the waitress walked away and had to get her attention again to give me a fork so i could eat. The bread that came with it was cold, i have had chicken fettuccini before and this was not the case. Our waitress was not the regular waitress who i usually see, who is fabulous! My son's food was ok, he got spaghetti since they were out of the vegan cheese. Usually my visits to this restaurant are 5 stars, this experience i could only give 3, i left disappointed from previous stellar experiences in the past. read more

And they do not disappoint here either. Create your own Pizza, or order off the menu. Whatever you order, it will be unique, yummy and it will be ready in no time. Movie night Pizza is a treat, so order one this Friday and see a show and have some yumminess. This meal was about the best that we had on our vacation, and that's saying a LOT because we ate at so many wonderful restaurants. The pizza was incredible! We had the one with all the meats+black olives. The crust is just perfect. My husband couldn't stop eating it. I also had a salad with their homemade ranch. Let me tell you. That ranch makes all others pale in comparison. It's got extra dill which makes it SO yummy and fresh tasting. I could drink this by the gallon. The salad veges were fresh, and with that dressing, it was as great as the pizza to me. And then there was the hot goat cheese and honey appetizer. Wow! She's been rude to us before, (we tried to ignore it) but tonight I went in late 15 minutes before closing and asked if they were still serving and she was so rude that I was shocked. Some other customers that were leaving came up to me on the street, and told me they $0 tipped them because of what they witnessed in how rudely I was treated by simply asking if they were still serving. Easy to find, cozy decor and friendly service. They hand toss their crust but it was a little blah in flavor, just nothing special, no yeast or garlic flavor. However, that being said, they had quite a few choices on the menu including Vegan Cheese which is rare in this rural area and Gluten free options. We were that customer, the ones arriving shortly before closing when the kitchen is mostly cleaned and with the staff expecting any early exit. But it was a Sunday in December and literally they were the last chance for food. So we stayed. The service and food was excellent. A short jaunt off the Katy Trail, and right in the heart of Hermann lies this old school pizza joint. From the red-checked tablecloths to the historic building, throwback pizza was the first thing that came to mind... and that's a good thing. The kind of pizza place where you don't just get it carryout or delivered, but meet up with friends to hang out AND crush some pizza. It was a sleepy late Sunday afternoon; too late for lunch, too early for dinner, but that didn't stop us from swinging in and ordering every gram of carbs they had on the menu. We started the cheesy garlic bread which was fantastic; cheesy, flavorful and rich. Next up we split the specialty veggie pizza which we was entirely too large for two hungry cyclists. Oh and they have a homemade ranch dressing that was magic with their crust. It's the kind of "runny ranch" that I grew up on, which proves it's not only homemade, but also less goopy than traditional bottled ranch dressing. We thought about trying to take our leftovers but decided against it since we were on bikes. Since moving back to Missouri I have been searching for a great east coast style pizza. 4th street is not only a great east coast style pizza for Missouri but would hold their own in any place iv lived, east coast, west coast, central, or overseas to include Italy. They make a truly great east coast style thin but not to thin, perfect chew on the crust, great sauce and mozzarella cheese. This is not Stl style thin cracker crust or provell cheese. I was at the famous John's on Bleeker street in NY less than 2 months ago and I can tell you 4th Street Pizza is right there with them. Phenomenal pizza! We were staying in Hermann for a 10 year anniversary trip. Arrived on a Wednesday afternoon, and not many places were open for dinner. Thankfully 4th St. Pizza was just a few doors down from where we were staying and they were open! Seriously the BEST pizza we've ever had. We're from STL, and are now desperately trying to find a pizza place in our area that is comparable to it. We were also able to order a bottle of wine to go with our pizza.
