I was at the famous John's on Bleeker street in NY less than 2 months ago and I can tell you 4th Street Pizza is right there with them. I have no idea what is going on with this place. It says on the door they open at 4 pm, but are only doing carry out and to call the number posted. When you call the number it says press one to place a carry out order, and then it says we can't take your order at this time....what? This happened several months ago when I wanted to call in a pizza and drive 25 min to pick it up.....they wouldn't answer their phone. It was 7:00 pm on a Friday night. I think I will write this place off even though they did have good pizza the last time I was able to get some. Extremely disappointed. read more

I had 4th st pizza during a visit. A lot of business were closed so we chose to order take out. The pizza itself was pretty good. There was a lot of pizza. It was warm and tasty. I believe it's St. Louis style, which I have never had before. My one complaint is with the service we had. We walked in to put a to go order in, knowing it would take time. The guy who took our order was almost annoyed with us with whatever questions we had. I did not feel welcome at all. When I'm in Hermann next I will probably avoid this restaurant because no one likes or needs to feel talked down too. It was disappointing and sad because the pizza itself was pretty good. read more

Stopped by this place to order a pizza to go & was pleasantly surprised by how great the pizza turned out. We ordered a 14inch pizza which was totally more than enough for the two of us. We got 1/2 pineapple 1/2 no cheese with sausage & mushrooms. It was delicious and only took 15 minutes to make! The prices were reasonably priced as well. The only thing I was bummed about was the pizza box was too small so our pizza got folded & on the drive home the cheese on one slice completely slid off. Delicious, fresh pizza! We got a 14in pizza, half cheese half pepperoni. It was definitely more than enough for two, we had a ton of leftovers! We also got the cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer which was great as well! The prices were reasonable and there was a good selection of wine and beer. Italian food is no doubt my favorite, so when I moved to Hermann I had to try it out! First, I started ordering pizza and was blown away by the flavors & gooeyness that most St. Louis pizza places lack. There is such a care of ingredients and for the way that it's cooked. It's just brilliant. Next, I brought family and they tried pastas, salads, appetizers etc. and we were all blown away! I especially loved dining with my boyfriend's family who have been locals for most of their lives, as well as business owners on first street who were quick to tell me of the history of the buildings, what used to be there & memories. The absolute worst service ever! If you can tolerate being cursed at and being treated like trash, this place is for you. I don't care how good the food is, spend your money elsewhere. First let me say that there were 3 couples and we all ordered the 16 inch pizza which we thought was a medium but ended up being huge. The food was great! We shared a thin crust pizza and linguine with meatballs. The service was horrible. Probably the worst service I've ever had. Waiter was rude. The man did the thing where they don't write down anything while you're ordering and of course forgot to put in the cheese bread we ordered (I'm shocked). Never once refilled our drinks. Never made eye contact after dropping the food off. Table was dirty. Never delivered the check. We had to go to the counter to pay. I'm still not exactly sure if this is how you're supposed to do it. We approached the counter and asked to place a to go order...and were told they were only serving dine in customers tonight. Please note that the entire restaurant contains only twelve 4 top tables. Three tables were open and all tables we could see had already been served. What exactly was the kitchen staff doing? This is a perfect example of small town small minds running what could be successful business into the ground because of pure laziness. Do not support this business. 4th St Pizza is centrally located within Hermann and the dining area had some pretty comfy booths. We ordered garlic cheese bread, bread with goat cheese, and the Meaty Deluxe, which came with pepperoni, ham, hamburger, and sausage. My dad is pretty picky with pizza, yet he still really enjoyed this pizza (which says something). I spent most of my time eating the bread with goat cheese. They gave me a ton of bread and goat cheese for only $5, which was fantastic. In terms of drinks, they have some booze you can choose from, flavored sodas in bottles, as well as some Pepsi products. In addition to good food and drink, the service was incredible. They were very attentive and considerate. As an example, I accidentally opened the wrong soda. When our server heard about it, she took the soda back and brought me a whole different one (free of charge). The food also came out relatively quickly. Overall, great place to grab pizza. read more

We thought it was pretty darn good. The pizza is fresh made to order, nice topping coverage, tasty crust. What prompted me to do 5 stars was the lovely fresh cut salad with excellent house made dressing. I always get excited when a place offers a nice salad, cut from real lettuce, (romaine and green leaf) with nice fresh additions and a great dressing. YAY! The service was just fine and we left full and happy. And by the way, pizzas are cooked in deck ovens so they actually bake! I was visiting a friend near Hermann Mo. He moved out there a few years ago from New York. He said you have to try this plzza. It's as good as New York pizza. Living in and around New York my entire life i was quite skeptical. Wow, was i surprised. It tasted as good as any pizza I've ever eaten.
