I B nuts over this clever and creative little gift shop. It was the first store we visited on our…read moreday trip to WashMO. The variety of nuts, dried fruits and candies was vast. They were packaged in a variety of sizes, from snack to sharing. In addition to all sorts of edible goodies for people, they had a selection of dog treats as well. They also had an area devoted to Missouri made products, many of them made right there in Washington. Being addicted to jalapeños, I could not resist purchasing a couple jars of jelly. In addition to the nuts, they specialize in gift baskets. The ones on display were very impressive. In addition to the food items, they have cute gifts items, like coasters, napkins and witty signs to complete the gift. The owner was extremely friendly and gave us pointers on where else to shop, drink and eat as we explored her historical town. Will I return? - Next time I'm in WashMO. I found myself in need of roughly 10 gift baskets for some clients, and the owner Barb was more than accomodating. I asked if I could include wine and cheese with the baskets (which they didn't sell) and not only was it not a problem, but she picked the items up for me and let me pay her for them when I picked up the baskets! Now that's good customer service. =) This would be a great place to wrap up your holiday gift-giving needs when you get to the people that are impossible to buy for, or to supply a party you're having with some "grab a handful" type food.

My boyfriend and I came by on Saturday to kill some time between a wedding ceremony and the…read morereception. We love historic bars/restaurants and this fit the bill. The inside was beautifully done. This is a great option for some slightly more upscale food in a semi-casual atmosphere. We sat at the bar for probably close to 10 minutes before receiving any service, we were dangerously close to leaving when the bartender "came back from break". He did apologize, and did a decent job waiting on us after that--albeit a little slow. There was another worker (Nicole?) clearly carrying the team, who was waiting on all of the bar area tables and perhaps others in the restaurant as well--she was delightful when she ran our food out for the bartender. I was excited to see their extensive beer selection. I opted for a boulevard wheat (one of my absolute favorites!). We ordered a couple of appetizers to hold us over until the wedding dinner we were about to attend. The flatbread of the week was a white sauce base with sausage, prosciutto, and bacon. When it first came out, it looked underwhelming, but it was amazing! The crust on the bottom was beautifully browned, and the combination of flavors was perfect. We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was just average I'd say--very heavy on the cream cheese, not a ton of gooey cheese. All-in-all I would likely try it again.
