Then asked for a couple of cups, so the kids could drink the milk. The person behind the counter, "I have to charge you for that." What? You're selling a product at your establishment, but won't provide a cup for use. What, I'm suppose to let my children drink from a glass jug. I paid for the cups, but come on now. We just moved to the area, and we eat here at minimum once a week! The coffee and food are both AMAZING. 100/10 recommend the covered wagon (breakfast burrito) and any muffin for food! Wish I could give ZERO stars. We had three people in my group and none of us liked what we ordered. The food was Bland with no flavor. The croissant was extremely hard! How do you mess up a croissant?!? Breakfast burrito had a lot of ingredients but no flavor! You get a side of salsa and when you add it to the burrito then it makes it "sort of" edible. We were greeted with a genuine smile and hello. We had time to kill before boarding the train home and figured we'd try the coffee and food. With the looks of a coffeehouse that also serves food, I was not expecting outstanding food but boy was I wrong. The food was in my opinion better than some diners I've been to. I ordered The Covered Wagon. The sausage gravy was heavy with a black pepper flavor, which is how I like it, and the burrito was very good and VERY filling. Also got the cinnamon roll, only critique on that would be I would have appreciated it to be warmed up a little. It has a strong coffeehouse feel with small tables and some cushioned chairs and tables to sit at. I recommend giving it a try when in town! read more

Spent 2 days in Herman and visited this little gem twice. Great variety of coffee drinks. The boozy one was delish! For breakfast had bagel and lox which was wonderful. They don't skimp on the cream cheese or the lox. Also had the biscuits and gravy and oh my! Will definitely be going back. Oh and they had a little live music guy that was fantastic. I was in Hermann for a wedding not too long ago and discovered this place and went twice. I walk down from a bed-and-breakfast that I was staying at a little bit on a hill. It was a husband and wife owned deal I believe and I really appreciated their attention to quality coffee. I had breakfast sandwiches both days I was there and really enjoyed the the croissant and sausage sandwich. They have a wonderful bare brick atmosphere the whole shop was tastefully done. You can sit at the bar or you can sit on a window and watch the world go by. The restroom was clean and the service was great. I had some individually brewed coffee that I enjoyed on one of my times there it was good fun and the young barista really knew their coffee. Both times I saw the husband who is one of the owners and talk to him about the shop and was really interested about their commitment to Herman and having a quality experience for people and I really hope their business makes it, they should because the attention to detail and the quality of the product is great. read more

As one of the few breakfast places in town, this quaint little coffee shop is quite the busy bee. The staff is very friendly, and the coffee delicious. My friend and I both enjoyed it so much we plan to return tomorrow. We enjoyed a breakfast burrito, which they put under the panini press, which makes for a great "to-go" item fyi! I also enjoyed one of their special lattes, a Cardamom Latte, and it was DELICIOUS! Apparently, they use a cardamom syrup that they make in house! This was such a unique drink, I hope they keep it around. Only slightly sweet, and froth on froth of milk made it the perfect pairing for a cold and rainy day! We were told to wait at the end of the counter for you "order name" to be called. We waited 30 mins. And after our last family member received their food, I asked about our order. I was told that someone must have picked up your food and that this happens regularly (I never heard our "order name" being called). I asked for my money back, my wife still wanted her sandwich. This coffeehouse was a welcome sanctuary on a cold rainy day. It was bustling, but the line moved quickly and drinks and food was prepared fast. The guy that took our order was so friendly! I ordered a London Fog (which is always my go-to). This is one of the best London Fog's I have ever had! I think it had a dash of Carmel in it that made all the difference. I will now start ordering it like that wherever I go! I also had a breakfast burrito, which was hot and tasty! My one wish is for some hot sauce, but they might have had some and I missed it! Greeted right away when we walked in. We took a couple of minutes to decide and ordered. I got the cappuccino and my wife got an iced chocolate milk cappuccino with hazelnut flavor added. Both are really good. We also go a cinnamon roll with icing and they warmed it up! Our order was ready in about a minute. They have a side room that is a little quieter and we sat by the windows. After a terrible experience involving a slimy turkey sandwich at the Hermann Wurst Haus (please see that negative review if you are so inclined), I stopped in to find something to fill my empty stomach. The woman at the counter was extremely friendly and took the time to explain how they made their delicious chicken salad sandwich. I gave it an 8/10 only because no chicken salad beats my grandma's recipe. I also spoke to some friendly locals; it was a delightful experience. I ignored other negative reviews about this location as they are most often someone whining because they didn't receive red carpet treatment. I shouldn't have. I noticed other reviews about previously prepared food and oven broken. I experienced the same. I believe the head to toe tattooed worker arrived just in time to open. First thing I noticed when I walked in was a handwritten small sign about the oven being repaired. I looked closely and could tell it was used often. Subtle word changes could still be seen. Food in the case looked ancient. We departed without eating, and would have even without reading the reviews I own several business so I take reviewing very seriously and try to look for reasons or causes. Probably spent more than most the people in there. The employees apparently don't like kids because we were asked to leave because their mind set is that kids should be seen and not heard. The breakfast burritos we got were small, definitely not "3 egg", hardly any cheese, and the potatoes looked like the frozen diced potatoes from a bag and absolutely no other spice or cooking method involved. I'm fairly certain they put those frozen bits in a microwave to unthaw before they wrapped it up. We tried Stomp'n Grounds for breakfast two times this past week and would definitely recommend it. I ordered the salmon and cream cheese bagel both times. It was absolutely perfect. My only complaint is they only have one size for coffee (i.e., small). As a new mom, I need a big cup! With that said, the people are friendly and the outdoor space is beautiful and dog friendly.
