Excellent variety of Asian dishes in menu. I have been reading many reviews for this spot and was excited to try out their Filipino food. My dad ordered the lemongrass beef sirloin and garlic rice. He mentioned that the garlic rice wasn't exactly garlicky. I ordered their longanisa with garlic rice and Thai tea. I was so hungry and disappointed about the results of the meal. The garlic rice tasted like plain white rice. The meat wasn't exactly up to par with the signature Filipino-styled longanisa that I am familiar with. I was expecting a flavor to grace my palette. However no Pinoy flavors were in my dish. The Thai Tea also tasted terrible. I could only take one and a half sip of the drink. It was disappointing to eat unauthentic Filipino cuisine. This newly opened restaurant has great potential to attract more customers. I have yet to try their Vietnamese food and critique the other items. As of now, I would rate this a three star-restaurant for my first visit: 1st Star: Excellent customer service. The woman who worked at the cash register was very pleasant to talk to. She was very knowledgeable with the menu and friendly. 2nd Star: Clean and organized indoor dining environment. Beautiful decor and dining furniture. 3rd Star: Affordable menu options. Found this place while looking for a restaurant that serves Banh Mi sandwiches. We were kinda scared to go in because the parking lot was empty. Almost backed out because the smell inside was still reminiscent of the old Uncle Sam's joint that was here before. We decided to order because the placed looked refreshed and bright. Ordered the beef, pork and sisig. Nice crunchy and soft bun, generous portion of meat. It was good, not great. We also had an iced Vietnamese coffee that was not tasty. I had to ask for more condensed milk and it still wasn't right. Staff was nice so that's a plus. Over all we were underwhelmed. Sandwich is decently sized and tasted good but it took 24 minutes from the time I ordered over the phone for me to get it in hand when I went to pick it up. They told me it would be about 15 minutes. As I am on my lunch break from work, time is of the essence. My first time trying them. I'd go again but I'd hope it would be closer to 10-15 minutes for my banh mi. Home with a bad cold, I ordered for delivery the chicken pho and crispy pork belly. Food arrived piping hot, and very well packed. The pho was soothing, and the pork belly, some of which I added to the pho, was both crispy and unctuous and came with a bright, slightly sweet sauce. Overall, I'm quite happy. Minus 1/2 star because it didn't include the full set of condiments -- no mint, cilantro, hoisin, or sriracha -- but the sprouts, sliced chili peppers, and basil were good. The basil sprig even had a pretty spear of flowers. Overall, I'm satisfied and look forward to more meals from Stockpot. (I also feed a good deal better!) read more

Hubby and I tried this place out and it was just ok. They have a big parking lot and have really done a great remodeling inside and updating the outside. The inside is very nice looking and they have sticker guides on the floor to help with social distancing and require a mask upon entering. The employees are masked and gloved up and they are very helpful a be pleasant to talk to. This is what we ordered: A3 fresh shrimp roll, Build own vermicelli noodle bowl with Grilled Turmeric Chicken, Garlic noodles with sirloin beef, crispy pork belly, pad thai and beef skewers. We waited for our food and it came out nicely packed. We got home and everything we ordered was there and it was generous portions at affordable prices. Hubby and I both agreed that everything was just ok but we have had better at other places for Thai food and/or Korean food. This is of my favorite places to go to ever since I found out about it! The inside is serene, the ambience is peaceful, and the staff are very nice. I'm a sucker for their banh mi and typically get the one with lemongrass beef. Their vermicelli bowls are delicious and if you get egg rolls as the topping they're always AMAZINGLY crispy that I could go on and on about it. And of course, their soups are great, especially on a cold day. You can't go wrong with their pho (I usually get the seafood one) and I like their tom yum soup as well. On one visit I ordered the B1: Grilled pork bahn mi sandwich (served with cucumber, pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeño, cilantro, mayonnaise, pate (liver spread), & soy sauce on Vietnamese baguette. My sandwich was really good and had lots of flavor. On a separate visit I ordered the S6: Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue) (*I asked for skinny noodles, with spicy beef broth, tendon, brisket, Vietnamese ham, flank, & rare steak) (served with a side of fresh sprouts, jalapeño, basil, and lime. Garnished with cilantro, yellow onions, & green onions). My soup was full of yummy flavors and just the right amount of grease from the meats. I also ordered Fresh shrimp spring rolls which are always good. The only thing I don't like that much (and always forget when I order) is that there is something sweet in the spring roll idk what it is, but they are still tasty. I tried a Hibiscus Tea Lemonade, it was a little tasteless/watered down for me (I also came in at the end of the day so that may be why). Seriously one of the best tofu Banh Mi's I've had in AWHILE. I recently had one without mayo and no sauce, and it was dry as hell. But this one has some type of spread, which you can remove, and mayo. It's soooo good. And finally the tofu is marinated!! I've also had some with just fried tofu and no extra sauce. This place knows what they're doin. I ordered through DoorDash, so I can't speak on the ambiance, but the service has to be A1 because I can appreciate that they stapled the bag for my food and drink! Oh my goodness. I experienced probably the best Banh Mi I have ever had! Let me talk about the seasoning in the tofu, it was delicious, there were magical hints of ginger with the creaminess of the sauce. The tofu was a great texture and cooked perfectly! The heaping ratios of toppings was on point as well! Love the crunchy and spicy hits on my taste buds, a lot of Banh Mis go wrong with not enough toppings or meat, but Stock Pot has nailed it. This place was decently good and had really nice staff! Although, I will say that the food was lacking a little bit. The pad thai was really fishy which I didn't quite enjoy. Although, their drinks are super refreshing! I recommend the hibiscus tea lemonade. The garlic noodles with the pork loin was also super yummy as well. I tried Stockpot for the first time from a recommendation of a friend in town. It's a big empty place, but clean. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are good. We had a pork banh-mi and spring roll. The Banh-mi had a warm little baguette and was very tasty. The Spring roll was fresh and good, but the roll was bigger than I am used to. That's a good thing. Sauces were good too. The only issue was the place looks run down from the outside and the pickles veggies in the sandwich were not really pickled. Otherwise the sandwich was delicious. Don't pass this up on the looks outside. Great cheap lunch eats. We got out for under $20 for the two of us. I'll be back! read more

Today was my first time going to this restaurant. My boyfriend usually go to the same food spots, but decided to try something different. I'm very glad that we did. This place is such a delightful hidden gem, and I would recommend everyone try this place out. Pro's: 1. Lots of parking (doesn't share the lot with anyone else). 2. The inside is surprisingly clean and seemed to be newly renovated. 3. Lots of tables. 4. The menu was posted everywhere, so even if you were in the back of the line, you'd still be able to look at it. 5. The owner and all of the workers were extremely friendly and even suggested different drinks to try. 6. I liked how you had to order first, so that when you sat down and waited, it didn't take too long for your food to come because they started making your order right away. 7. As you can see in the pictures that I've taken, the presentation was superb. I feel like they could definitely kill it in LA/SF. 8. The longanisa was my favorite (I think they make it themselves because I never had that kind of flavored longanisa before). Delicious 9. The pork belly was a 3.5/5 for me, decent but I've had better. Con's: 1. I feel like the location and the appearance of the outside of the restaurant is very deceiving. However, once you walk in, it looks completely different. I've always been wanting to stop by and try this new restaurant where the old Uncle Sam's used to be right off the corner of Broadway and Sereno Drive. Parking is easy because they have a lot. My dad was craving a Vietnamese sandwich because he wanted something sour, salty, and sweet as he said it. My mom wanted soup so this was the perfect place to get the best of both worlds. I called in my order and they said it would take about 15 minutes. I ordered a Beef Banh mi- called lemongrass beef and a shrimp pho for my mom. Indoor dining is open and it looked like they had some orders waiting. The staff were really nice and friendly and they take Apple Pay. Now for the food, I wasn't home when my mom at e the pho but she and my dad finished it, so that means that it was good enough for them. They said it "was just like all of the other places." So that's a pretty good review. As for the Banh mi, I ate half of it, I wish it was already cut down the middle to just make it easier and more proportioned to eat if you don't finish it. I felt like the vegetables weren't as fresh as some other places, even though they're pickled it was a little on the softer side. The bread wasn't too hard, so I'm happy it didn't cut the roof of my mouth. But one thing that I think I enjoy about Banh mi's are the subtle patte they have that makes it feel more buttery and I don't think they added it here. I definitely think this place is worth a try and especially to support local business but the price of a Banh mi is double that the normal you get from Vietnamese places although, this place is open longer in the evenings. They also have some fusion flavors as opposed to the traditional ones, so I would get that if I was looking for a night time craving. Their lemonades looked good too! I heard that people like their combo fried rice, turmeric chicken, crispy pork belly, pad Thai & satay skewers. So I would definitely give these a try sometime! read more

The staff is quiet and polite. I ordered the garlic noodles with a fried fish and an egg. I had a strawberry lemonade. The food was delicious. I ate it with a heart full of gratitude. The salad dressing was excellent. The fish was salty and crispy. It tasted really good with the crisp salad with little delicious spicy elements. The restaurant was clean and bright. It was quiet when I was there at 11 am. They had some energetic pop type music playing. It didn't bother me. It kind of reminded me of youthful happiness. I chose to eat heat because of the easy walk from Kaiser Vallejo. Such a pleasant surprise. I would definitely eat hear again and recommend it to anyone who likes southeast Asian food. A fairly new gem in town with so many delicious options! My husband and I picked up takeout on a weekday and we really enjoyed our meals! we shared their crispy pata (pork belly) and it was soo good! The inside of this place was transformed beautifully. The old carpet has been replaced with shiny clean tiles. The windows bring in the light. The previous establishment was so dark and dingy. Customer service was A plus - both over the phone and in person. Now for the food: Tofu ho fun - sweet and tasty. Tamarind wings - super crispy, tangy, sweet and sour. Imperial eggroll - good, even came with vegetarian 'fish' sauce dip. Spicy beef noodle soup - amazing flavors, packed with meat, spicy level was just right. I like to go to a place where after I eat my meal I'm not hungry. I was still hungry after. I ordered bbq beef and it was so dry. I had to smother the sauce to moisten it. It didn't help much. A great spot for Vietnamese food. The outside of the building and surrounding area is not much to look at, but the inside has been nicely updated. Tried Stockpot recently due to the positive Yelp reviews. Picked up a couple of banh mi sandwiches and a combo pho. Both the sandwiches were delicious. The roll they use seems a little denser than some other spots, but it was fine. I had the lemongrass beef which was different than most places and quite good. I split the pho with my son and while the pho size was not the most generous (I don't think have different sizes as a number of pho places do), it was enough for two servings in combination with the sandwiches for a filling dinner. Only critique is the soup is a touch salty and you could taste it towards the end of the (half) bowl. I think it would have been hard to have a full serving due to this. So maybe go 10% lighter on the salt and it would have been perfect for my palate. Overall four stars. read more

Farewell, Uncle Sam.. .. and welcome, Stockpot! As much as I loved going to Uncle Sam for longanisa and garlic fried rice, the interior decor always left much to be desired. It was usually dark which felt unwelcoming to new visitors (even though the regulars knew better), so Stockpot decided to breathe new life into this old space, and it shows! The staff here are very friendly, from ordering over the phone to picking up the food, they helped make it a very easy process. In terms of food, I thought the stir-fried beef ho fun was delicious; it had soft noodles, tender sliced beef, and broccoli/carrots with a good crunch that had soaked up all of the soy-based sauce they sautéed everything in. I also appreciate that they have a "Build Your Own Bowl" option to open up options for someone who might want shrimp or tofu, or someone who might just want to try something a little different each time. The fresh salted plum limeade was interesting -- it was salty, tart, and just a little bit sweet. It didn't give the refreshing "aah" that I was looking for. I almost wished there were lychee or mint flavors to help balance things out a little bit more. All in all, the friendly staff and great food make this a restaurant I could recommend and would love to come back to. Next time, I think I'll try the Cambodian noodle soup! read more

As I sit here savoring each spoonful of this delicious pho,I have tears of joy(or maybe it's the pepper I just ate) to have finally found Bun Bo Hue that's done the right way not far from my home. Taste is spot on, spice level could be hotter but then most people would complain. Ample meats that taste of good quality. Only thing missing is the pigs blood, but I suppose it's better to read the room and keep out of the soup things that most people will think is gross. Truly hope this restaurant succeeds!!
