Whenever my mom does grocery shopping at 168 Market I am eating at Stockpot. I love their Fresh Spring Rolls...it is delicious! Whenever I dine inside Stockpot I am greeted with a smile. What is funny is that they remember me the last time I dine inside. It is quiet inside Stockpot. I rarely seen the restaurant being packed during lunch. Plenty of tables to dine inside. Plenty of parking spaces at this restaurant. Keep up the great service Stockpot!
I have been a regular here since they opened, they have great pho, great bun Bo hue, and bahn mi. Very decently priced and great amounts of serving. The staff is amazing. It is in a slight ghetto side of Vallejo, but it's Vallejo. The inside is very spacious, but my only complaint is it smells in here, like a bathroom, and not talking about the food. I always come back though because the food is amazing!
Pretty good place to get Vietnamese/southeast Asian food. You walk in and start ordering at the kiosk, then the server gives you a number and then take a seat. Overall service was pretty fast. Ambiance is clean with watercolors of Vietnam. We had the combination number 1 and the pad Thai combination. Both really tasty. Only downside was the bathroom smelled a little off, kind of like something old had passed away in there. Can't really put my finger on it but it didn't have a clean smell.
My go to place for Pho. I order every time I'm not feeling well or just in the mood for Pho. Always quick to deliver thru delivery apps. Food is delicious. Favs are the chicken pho & the build your own rice plate with tumeric chicken & garlic fried rice! I feel like this place is slept on in the community for pho.
The staff was warm & friendly & greeted us right away. We ordered the Mongolian beef clay pot & lemongrass beef bun bowl with strawberry lemonade. Both were delicious with generous size portions & reasonably priced as well. The Mongolian beef was so good and I loved how hot it stayed in the clay pot. The space doesn't look like much from the outside but inside it's very open with lots of natural light. My one complaint about the ambiance is there is an air freshener behind the counter which mixes with the smell of food so it's kind of weird. Other than that this place was great. Definitely would be back to try more dishes.
Aside from the great comfort food, I love how simple it is to create a custom plate. The dishes are hearty with plenty of veggies, noodles, and meat. Have been here twice after being at Kaiser. The restaurant is warm and inviting. The staff is always friendly and the food is quickly prepared. I would like to see their parking lot lighted better.
*** Vegetarian Review *** You can ask for vegetarian dipping sauce and no pate (pork liver spread). Service - 5/5 stars. You order at the counter and Marie was super friendly and mentioned they have a vegetarian dipping sauce. Food - 4/5 stars. I tried three dishes. All good to very good. One of which I will be ordering on the regular. Parking - 5/5. Dedicated parking lot. Location - About 5 minutes away from Marine World so it's very easy to escape for a much better meal. Would I Eat Here Again? Yes. And since they have a vegetarian dipping sauce, I will be able to try other items. Comparison - Huong Lan in Sacramento is still the king of bahn mi because they have fake meats. However, this place is very similar to Duc Huong in Sacramento so that's pretty darn good. B4 Tofu Bahn Mi ($7.95, Grade A) - The Vietnamese baguette was warm and soft. The fixins were fresh and flavorful. Careful if you can't handle hot because those sliced jalapeños packed a bunch. The tofu had a nice marinade and they were generous in their potions. Good "meat" to bread ratios from your first bite to your last. Highly recommended. Build Your Own Rice Bowl (10.95, Grade B+) - I enjoyed the garlic fried rice for an additional 75-cents, but it was a tad too garlic-heavy. The tofu was surprisingly flavored differently than the bahn mi which shows some chef skills. Marie says it has lemon grass and I asked if they could remove it, but that wasn't possible. However, I couldn't taste or smell any lemongrass in the dish at all. Comes with a Vietnamese slaw. Although I enjoyed it, I wouldn't order this again. Appetizer / Fried Veggie Tofu Egg rolls ($7.95, Grade A) - comes in a serving of 3 eggrolls cut in half and fried golden brown. Make sure to request the veggie dipping sauce. I have to believe these are homemade because I've yet to come across a vegetarian frozen egg roll that had a thick piece of tofu inside. Carrots, onions, taro root, glass noodles, mushrooms, and egg also contribute to my suspicion these are made in house. I would order again. Bottom line. I will definitely come back. This is definitely the best bahn mi in Vallejo and the service was fast and friendly.
I've gone here a few times for Bon needs and they're great incredible fast and really fresh. I also go here for Vietnamese iced coffee. It's close by Kaiser. They're fast and the coffee is so good and I'm really picky. Every time I've gone everyone that works there so nice highly recommend.
I love Southeast Asian food, more specifically Vietnamese food which reminds me of home in SoCal. We went here before a wine tasting in Napa and this filled us right up so we were ready to go. I ordered their claypot rice with an order of pork egg rolls on the side. The egg rolls were tasty, but smaller than I had hoped and didn't come with any veggies on the side like most restaurants. The rice claypot was the highlight of my meal and my friends commented it seemed like one of their best options. They also had a variety of other foods like banh mis, pho, noodle plates, and other offerings. They do some fusion here like sisig in the sandwiches, so maybe I'll try those out next time around. Service was quick and fast. We ordered at a counter and they brought it out to the table. The atmosphere was really casual and great for simple meals with family & friends or groups if they're not too busy.
I came to Stockpot for the first time with my family on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty and spacious. Definitely a lot more clean/well kept than other Asian restaurants I've been to. The staff was pretty friendly too. I ordered the bun Bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and the bbq pork bahn mi. It was my first time trying bun Bo hue and I was not disappointed. The flavor is pretty similar to pho, but a little less flavorful, more spicy, and more oily. The bbq pork bahn mi was also delicious, but pretty standard compared to other bahn mid I've tried. Honestly, I would give the food 4 stars, but due to their generous portions and kind staff, I believe stockpot deserves 5 stars! I will be back.
Their garlic noodles taste like garlic bread. So that's a yum! I liked their crispy pork belly and the lemongrass tofu. My roommate had their bahn mi. We shared the spring rolls. Appreciated the freshness of the veggies. The spring rolls tasted fresh and had shrimp but was missing the pork that I'm used to. However the portion size was large. The bahn mi sandwich was decent. The bread isn't that fresh crispy and chewy baguette that symbolizes a good bahn mi. Overall we enjoyed the food. But it's not a place I would say "you have to eat there." We would go again and definitely like to support local businesses. Next time will try their pho.
I've been wanting to check the place out. I wanted the longganisa meal but they ran out. When we did, I was underwhelmed on the taste of both meals . Lechon kawali texture was on point but the taste was bland. The sauce should've been vinegar with chili (red sili) . The sauce on the side didn't go with the lechon. The rice and the lechon proportion was ok, it was too much rice. I did like like the veggies with that same sauce. For the bangus, it smelled and tasted too fishy. It also tasted bland . Again, this could've been good with vinegar, not sure what the somewhat clear sauce on the side was. The egg was alright and rice was alright . The veggies is pretty much the main star of both meals. Maybe I'll try going back again when I'm craving for banh mi and the logganisa meal are available .... Overall , I gave it 3 starts.

Great restaurant for take-out during COVID. I ordered a banh mi sandwich and a Vietnamese coffee yesterday for dinner. I was very pleased w/the flavors and the service. The bread was just right, the grilled beef was super flavorful with fresh and crisp veggies. The Vietnamese coffee has a STRONG and robust flavor but toned it down with a good amount of condensed milk and ice. I'm a huge fan of local businesses and it makes me happy to see friendly owners that care about their customers. While I was waiting, one of the workers handed me a glass of Thai Tea and asked me for my opinion re: the taste (like if it was too sweet or not sweet enough) I think that shows the dedication to please their customers with good quality items. Found this place while looking for a restaurant that serves Banh Mi sandwiches. We were kinda scared to go in because the parking lot was empty. Almost backed out because the smell inside was still reminiscent of the old Uncle Sam's joint that was here before. We decided to order because the placed looked refreshed and bright. Ordered the beef, pork and sisig. Nice crunchy and soft bun, generous portion of meat. It was good, not great. We also had an iced Vietnamese coffee that was not tasty. I had to ask for more condensed milk and it still wasn't right. Staff was nice so that's a plus. Over all we were underwhelmed. Maybe we'll be back to try other things on the menu if the places looks busy enough. read more

Sandwich is decently sized and tasted good but it took 24 minutes from the time I ordered over the phone for me to get it in hand when I went to pick it up. They told me it would be about 15 minutes. As I am on my lunch break from work, time is of the essence. My first time trying them. I'd go again but I'd hope it would be closer to 10-15 minutes for my banh mi. Restaurant is big inside but uncomfortably cold like there is no heater. read more

This is of my favorite places to go to ever since I found out about it! The inside is serene, the ambience is peaceful, and the staff are very nice. I'm a sucker for their banh mi and typically get the one with lemongrass beef. Their vermicelli bowls are delicious and if you get egg rolls as the topping they're always AMAZINGLY crispy that I could go on and on about it. And of course, their soups are great, especially on a cold day. You can't go wrong with their pho (I usually get the seafood one) and I like their tom yum soup as well. Had more GREAT experiences and AMAZING food at Stockpot! On one visit I ordered the B1: Grilled pork bahn mi sandwich (served with cucumber, pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeño, cilantro, mayonnaise, pate (liver spread), & soy sauce on Vietnamese baguette. My sandwich was really good and had lots of flavor. On a separate visit I ordered the S6: Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue) (*I asked for skinny noodles, with spicy beef broth, tendon, brisket, Vietnamese ham, flank, & rare steak) (served with a side of fresh sprouts, jalapeño, basil, and lime. Garnished with cilantro, yellow onions, & green onions). My soup was full of yummy flavors and just the right amount of grease from the meats. I also ordered Fresh shrimp spring rolls which are always good. The only thing I don't like that much (and always forget when I order) is that there is something sweet in the spring roll idk what it is, but they are still tasty. I tried a Hibiscus Tea Lemonade, it was a little tasteless/watered down for me (I also came in at the end of the day so that may be why). I ended up ordering my go-to Thai Iced Tea also which is perfectly strong and sweet! read more

Oh my goodness. I experienced probably the best Banh Mi I have ever had! Let me talk about the seasoning in the tofu, it was delicious, there were magical hints of ginger with the creaminess of the sauce. The tofu was a great texture and cooked perfectly! The heaping ratios of toppings was on point as well! Love the crunchy and spicy hits on my taste buds, a lot of Banh Mis go wrong with not enough toppings or meat, but Stock Pot has nailed it. I also love the choice of bread they use, it's slightly crunchy on top and nice and soft inside, without being too big or chewy. Definitely a must try! read more

Staff is friendly and no complaints whatsoever about service. But it's all about the food right and here it has all been DELISH and at great prices. So, patronize this place. This place was decently good and had really nice staff! Although, I will say that the food was lacking a little bit. The pad thai was really fishy which I didn't quite enjoy. Although, their drinks are super refreshing! I recommend the hibiscus tea lemonade. The garlic noodles with the pork loin was also super yummy as well. The clay pot rice was nice and hot, and while I enjoyed it, I wish there was a little more flavor. I did end up adding some chili oil and soy sauce in there and it was perfect! Today was my first time going to this restaurant. My boyfriend usually go to the same food spots, but decided to try something different. I'm very glad that we did. This place is such a delightful hidden gem, and I would recommend everyone try this place out. Pro's: 1. Lots of parking (doesn't share the lot with anyone else). 2. The inside is surprisingly clean and seemed to be newly renovated. 3. Lots of tables. 4. The menu was posted everywhere, so even if you were in the back of the line, you'd still be able to look at it. 5. The owner and all of the workers were extremely friendly and even suggested different drinks to try. 6. I liked how you had to order first, so that when you sat down and waited, it didn't take too long for your food to come because they started making your order right away. 7. As you can see in the pictures that I've taken, the presentation was superb. I feel like they could definitely kill it in LA/SF. 8. The longanisa was my favorite (I think they make it themselves because I never had that kind of flavored longanisa before). Delicious 9. The pork belly was a 3.5/5 for me, decent but I've had better. Con's: 1. I feel like the location and the appearance of the outside of the restaurant is very deceiving. However, once you walk in, it looks completely different. I've always been wanting to stop by and try this new restaurant where the old Uncle Sam's used to be right off the corner of Broadway and Sereno Drive. Parking is easy because they have a lot. My dad was craving a Vietnamese sandwich because he wanted something sour, salty, and sweet as he said it. My mom wanted soup so this was the perfect place to get the best of both worlds. I called in my order and they said it would take about 15 minutes. I ordered a Beef Banh mi- called lemongrass beef and a shrimp pho for my mom. Indoor dining is open and it looked like they had some orders waiting. The staff were really nice and friendly and they take Apple Pay. Now for the food, I wasn't home when my mom at e the pho but she and my dad finished it, so that means that it was good enough for them. They said it "was just like all of the other places." So that's a pretty good review. As for the Banh mi, I ate half of it, I wish it was already cut down the middle to just make it easier and more proportioned to eat if you don't finish it. I felt like the vegetables weren't as fresh as some other places, even though they're pickled it was a little on the softer side. The bread wasn't too hard, so I'm happy it didn't cut the roof of my mouth. But one thing that I think I enjoy about Banh mi's are the subtle patte they have that makes it feel more buttery and I don't think they added it here. I definitely think this place is worth a try and especially to support local business but the price of a Banh mi is double that the normal you get from Vietnamese places although, this place is open longer in the evenings. They also have some fusion flavors as opposed to the traditional ones, so I would get that if I was looking for a night time craving. Their lemonades looked good too! I heard that people like their combo fried rice, turmeric chicken, crispy pork belly, pad Thai & satay skewers. So I would definitely give these a try sometime! read more

The inside of this place was transformed beautifully. The old carpet has been replaced with shiny clean tiles. The windows bring in the light. The previous establishment was so dark and dingy. Customer service was A plus - both over the phone and in person. Now for the food: Tofu ho fun - sweet and tasty. Tamarind wings - super crispy, tangy, sweet and sour. Imperial eggroll - good, even came with vegetarian 'fish' sauce dip. Spicy beef noodle soup - amazing flavors, packed with meat, spicy level was just right. Coconut pandan drink - halo halo style, not too sweet, refreshing Close to home so definitely going back. Can't wait to try their filipino breakfast bowls. read more

Farewell, Uncle Sam.. .. and welcome, Stockpot! As much as I loved going to Uncle Sam for longanisa and garlic fried rice, the interior decor always left much to be desired. It was usually dark which felt unwelcoming to new visitors (even though the regulars knew better), so Stockpot decided to breathe new life into this old space, and it shows! The staff here are very friendly, from ordering over the phone to picking up the food, they helped make it a very easy process. In terms of food, I thought the stir-fried beef ho fun was delicious; it had soft noodles, tender sliced beef, and broccoli/carrots with a good crunch that had soaked up all of the soy-based sauce they sautéed everything in. I also appreciate that they have a "Build Your Own Bowl" option to open up options for someone who might want shrimp or tofu, or someone who might just want to try something a little different each time. The fresh salted plum limeade was interesting -- it was salty, tart, and just a little bit sweet. It didn't give the refreshing "aah" that I was looking for. I almost wished there were lychee or mint flavors to help balance things out a little bit more. All in all, the friendly staff and great food make this a restaurant I could recommend and would love to come back to. Next time, I think I'll try the Cambodian noodle soup! read more

As I sit here savoring each spoonful of this delicious pho,I have tears of joy(or maybe it's the pepper I just ate) to have finally found Bun Bo Hue that's done the right way not far from my home. Taste is spot on, spice level could be hotter but then most people would complain. Ample meats that taste of good quality. Only thing missing is the pigs blood, but I suppose it's better to read the room and keep out of the soup things that most people will think is gross. Truly hope this restaurant succeeds!! And I'm looking forward to the day we can sit down and enjoy it more as it comes fresh out of the kitchen! Sorry I forgot to take a picture until I was half done. read more

I called and picked up my order after 10 minutes and the food was ready. The Cambodian beef skewers are well-seasoned and almost as delish as (but with less meat) Cambodia Street Food in Oakland which are the best. The sautéed combination ho fun (noodles) had generous amount of vegetables and enough meat but the noodles were very few. The lack of noodles made the dish a little too wet for my taste. A little more ho fun would have been fun and perfect, I only ordered two items and both were delicious and satisfactory but a little pricey for the serving size. I will come back to try more dishes especially the $7 sandwich. I am very curious how it will compare to the best báhn mi sandwiches in San Jose which sell for only $5. read more

Stockpot has become one of my favorite places to eat, here in Vallejo. There's not many places to choose from so I'm really glad that they've opened up and has such a variety in their menu. I usually just order a banh mi but recently I've decided to order the "make your own rice bowl" and they did not disappoint. I ordered jasmine rice, with crispy pork belly and a fried egg plus my usual bbq pork banh mi. Everything taste so good and again I was very pleased. The pork belly was crispy, I love their simple Vietnamese slaw and I enjoyed their sweet soy sauce, it complimented the dish pretty well. I'm definitely becoming a regular. read more

Issss goooood. I got the chicken pho. Noodles are different but still tasty. They're not stringy, they're more like fat fettuccini. The stew was hot and perfect for this weather. I was impressed because they serve this set-up to eat in the car for 0.25 more. I saw other people eating in their cars in the parking lot, so, I took it as a good sign. read more
