We were impressed with Flavia's knowledge and professionalism when she came to review the project for the estimate. She asked questions to understand our needs and wants. She patiently listened and answers our questions. During the installation, Flavia came out a few times to ensure everything was going well. She also helped find just the right transition pieces to work with the existing flooring outside the baths. The installation was a two day process. It went very smoothly and was handled in a way that caused the least amount of disruption for us. Our installer was skilled and did a great job not only with the tile, but with new baseboard and a new toilet installation in one of the baths. He was great to work with. Flavia came out one last time after the installation to ensure everything was good and that we were happy with the result. Pro Floors' cost estimate was in the middle of the three estimates we received. But, our choice was based more on our experience during the initial visit than anything else. We were not disappointed. Our floor was torn up in a hallway/master bath & master bedroom due to a flood. We were looking for someone to pull up floor from the spare bedroom and use the pieces to patch the remaining parts that were damaged due to a flood. He arrived and talked through our options with us and got back to us in a reasonable time to schedule & get to work. We had a quote from another floor guy but we really liked Josh & his quote was great so we were in. The work itself took about a day a half and the patchwork was seamless. He was able to reuse many of the floor pieces to fix the main areas and we are now off to get the remaining bedroom carpeted. We woulda went with him for this as well but that was outside of his scope. Nevertheless the job was done below budget and quickly might I add. He also fixed a linen cabinet that had been removed due to the water damage. He was meticulous and thorough in cutting and replacing the baseboards as well. We cannot recommend him highly enough. They provided our personal information to the installer we found. The Floor Store salesman is either petty or is ignorant of law.

But, I hired Maksym Kiporuk who goes by either Max or Kip of Kip home improvement. Max is C-15 licensed for flooring and floor covering, bonded and insured (CSLB 1114647). I found him originally on Thumbtack and came highly recommended from customers who he completed jobs for. He was new to Yelp. His pricing was very fair for the high quality of work his crew of 2 do . Max manages the quality and finish and communicates with you throughout the install process. My daughter selected Republic Brazilian Tigerwood which is an AC3 grade water resistant laminate flooring from Pro flooring in Sacramento. Kip did pass his contractor discount pricing on materials to us which was lower than the cash price a consumer would normally get otherwise. My daughter had a new construction Beazer home. He did the demo of carpet, laminate, removed baseboards and found using a Tramax style moisture meter (V1-D1). Normal reading of 12-15 in different areas, he was expecting 7 or below which is normal. So he treated the whole area with Silka MB which is a moisture barrier which turns the concrete a blue color and dries overnight. Moisture cannot come up once that is applied. It was a 4 day job. So 1 day for demo, grind. Leveling and sealer. Followed by Silka MB moisture barrier on second day. Then put down a Quietstep silver moisture barrier and laminate install over the next 2 days. The floor is floating so expect a little gap on the sides which gets covered by baseboards. His cuts and transitions from his team were good. His team cleaned up each day. Took a leaf blower and cleaned garage and driveway. They did a nice clean install. No damage to any walls or doors. They did reseat the closet doors and kindly received an Amazon package when we were kind enough to put inside a room. They caulked the gaps around the baseboards and cleaned up after themselves. Kip came the last day and made a few corrections to the caulking, cleaned, took payment and left. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kip to anyone looking for a flooring licensed contractor. His work is 5* and his team takes pride in their work. His pricing is also very fair and he passes his contractor discount on materials to you which is lower than the consumer cash price. Overall you will receive a quality install at a fair competitive price and peace of mind as he is licensed, bonded, and insured and an overall nice friendly guy as is his team.
