Main shower area

We interviewed many remodeling companies, however Oakwood Remodeling Group stood out. Denis is the owner of the company, and Alex his Brother takes care of all the work coordination. They are a truly family owned business. Denis knew what we wanted and helped us make some of our decisions. The most important thing I can say about the business is the superior customer service. Alex will reply almost immediately to any texts, or phone call, and keep you updated. The work crew, Alex, Ian, and Ivan did a great job, and very respectful. Tim does the tile work , and it is the best tile work I have ever seen. Thank you Oakwood Remodeling Group, and will definitely use you again for any future projects.

Tiling

I hired Good Home Builders after taking a couple of bids for the bathroom renovation project. It was to put in curbless shower to accommodate for a disability. Although I almost picked another team because they had a design team and promised less stress, I went with Good Home Builders with the full expectation that I would be more hands on with the design. We got off to a bumpy start as we had trouble sourcing the more slip resistant tiles. I'm still not sure why it was so difficult, but we ended up with different choices at Home Depot instead with a much later timeline. I bought all the fixtures and grab bars. So you do end up spending more than the contract amount. Budget accordingly. GHB purchased the tiles, grout, drain, dry wall, concrete, etc. that was necessary to create the curbless experience. The shower area and tiled floor turned out great. The pony wall and glass was the right call even though the bathroom is tiny. There were two extra requests (part of the contract) - to create an archway entry from the living room to the bedroom to avoid stairs. The second one was to pull out the medicine cabinet and make a bigger open niche so the bathroom counter wasn't so cluttered. The archway entry ended up a dud because it was a support wall. The team investigated the staircase and brainstormed ideas, but I wasn't convinced. We went with handrails that we are very happy with how they turned out. The open niche also didn't quite pan out. I didn't realize that there wasn't any tiling going on there so it's drywall and paint. I anticipated water (isn't it normal?) on the surface from products being used and going back. It's too late to rip it out so currently figuring out alternatives to waterproof it but that won't make it smaller. I'm sad about the miss on the design on that. I think the biggest drawback was anything related to painting. The wrong color was used due to perhaps a chain of miscommunication. I gave two cans saying that this is the closest I had, but it wasn't right. I thought the dialogue ended with the team to test it on the drywall that they were taking out for the archway, but actually one of the two cans was replicated and used. I think once the paint dried and it was obvious, it should have been corrected then and there by the QC manager and not me. Since they threw in the paint job for the bathroom, I didn't make a fuss, but I did have to go over several areas of the bathroom paint too. So I probably wouldn't use them for painting. I think things that can be improved is checking with each other about scheduling for the week. Also, there was some clean up. I was left to vacuum and clear the plastic wrap. I guess I didn't get everything since one of my family cut their toe on a shard. The team was good about cleaning inside the bathroom, but a quick shop vac around the area would be appreciated next time. Maybe then we would have found the carpet piece that was floating up from the staircase investigation faster. Overall, my goal was a curbless shower and the team delivered. Some of the details could have been better, but the shower is working great. We look forward to finishing up the painting and the niche. Denis did offer to finish the painting for us, but I couldn't keep juggling my schedule. Denis also did offer an alternative solution for the niche, but I'm working on another idea to save the design. GHB does strive for customer satisfaction. GHB also works with Apex, but my contact point was Denis from GHB. I also like to put in a shout out Sergio for the awesome handrails, Demetri for the great tiles, and the Misha for powering through the last day.

Very positive and professional crew !Good quality for affordable price!Helping with choose materials and provide best service!Highly recommend! They left only positive

The company showed up on time everyday and took great care in our home. They all showed Quality workmanship and attention to detail. They were with us every step of the way including permitting process. I have nothing but exceptional things to say about everyone with Good Home Builders. We will be doing some more home remodeling and will use them time and time again. I highly recommend this team of experts.

The crew at Good Home is the best! I reached out for a bathroom remodel in one of my rentals and Denis got back to me quickly. Their pricing was fair and we got Alex and his crew out there within a week. The work was exceptional and I am very impressed overall.

The short version is he is extremely reliable with excellent communication and workmanship. Lock in for the long version. We have lived in our home for 12 years and were looking for a reliable contractor to remodel our entire home. We plan to be in this home for a long time and really needed someone who would show the care and attention to our home. We interviewed several contractors and Joe with CB Homes matched our communication style and genuine care for the work performed. We planned to move out of our home due to the large scope of the project and needed someone we could trust and rely on without us being inside the house. Joe proved to be reliable and trustworthy. He showed up when he said he would and if he needed to adjust scheduling he communicated clearly and worked with us. He was excellent at managing the many different elements and phases of the project to keep us involved in the key decision making while keeping the project on schedule. Many people told us no way the project would be complete by our 3 month target but we were able to move back home exactly when we planned to. The quality of the work was exceptional and Joe provided us suggestions and recommendations while respecting our unique sense of style. I.E. We wanted two mounted TVs in the living room, unique ivy backsplash in the bathroom and removed 5 windows since we like low lighting in the house. We've been back in the house for 2 weeks now and love how it turned out. We are already thinking about future projects (backyard) and hope to work with Joe again.

They also installed a tiled kitchen wall using a complex tile pattern, and despite our walls and corners not being perfectly straight, they made everything look clean, precise, and beautifully aligned. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship really stood out. On top of the excellent work, they were always on time, worked efficiently, and finished the project quickly without cutting corners. I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!

We chose Vostok Construction to remodel our primary bathroom/bedroom that had lots of water damage. We knew that it would be a big job (needed new subfloor and floor joists and studs in one wall) and they took care of us. They were very careful to make sure their mess didn't get anywhere outside of the job site, took their time to make the finishes look just right, and were courteous and kind to myself and my kids. And Igor's tiling is absolutely stunning. I have high standards for finishes and I cannot find a flaw in our tile--he's that good. Eric and Alex were super helpful with seeing our vision and explaining what would be cost effective but also functional. I never felt like either of them pushed me to do something I didn't want (and as a people pleaser, that's hard!). The job had a couple of rough spots (bad plumbing from the previous contractor, and a paint color mixup etc.) but each time there was an issue, the communication was clear and they let us know what needed to be done. They were patient when we realized our faucets and other metal finishes weren't matching and did their best to help us find what we needed. They finished the job in the timeframe they quoted us even with some hiccups along the way. I would 100% recommend Vostok Construction (and I have to some friends!). I hope to use them again in the near future for some more bathrooms and a living room overhaul.
