This is our first home and our first remodel. At first I was nervous of everything I didn't know about, but Mike alleviated that. Let me explain. Mike and his team did an excellent job creating our daughter's new bedroom and taking out our old fireplace. The finished product looks like it's always been there. There's a lot of good things to say, from the top: The quote he provided was highly detailed and itemized clearly. He set clear expectations of what he would do and what we would provide to complete the job. We chose Millsaw because their quote was comprehensive, he was transparent with us about the our responsibilities and costs, he was professional in his initial visit to measure our layout, and he had good references. His team was on time every day. They laid down paper and a protective mat to cover our floor and stairs where they walked. They were kind to our family and BOY were they fast! They got the entire job done in about two weeks, maybe less, and cleaned up after each day. It was reassuring that Mike personally knew his team. We felt comfortable leaving them alone in our home. Mike assured us he'd trust them in his own home. His team had the same kindness and professionalism that Mike did. He involved us with picking our paint, trim boards, and flooring. He gave us his discount code to get lower prices on paint. We picked paint, trim, flooring, and new fans in our girls' bedrooms. He made these items into a clear shopping list for us. I don't normally write reviews. I don't want to write anything rosey or biased. This experience was truly easy. I don't have much negative to say. They handled everything we wanted them to. He handled a lot of details so I didn't have to worry about anything. Mike kept us informed each day of the current status and next steps. Since finishing this project, we've recommended Millsaw to some friends for their projects too. Overall, he was warm, courteous, professional, and thorough. The end product looks like it has always been there. Thanks Mike and team! -Jon read more

Millsaw Construction did an outstanding job upgrading my home. They remodeled both bathrooms, installed vinyl plank flooring and modern baseboards throughout my home, and painted the interior, giving the entire house a fresh, clean, and modern look. Millsaw Construction is a company you can trust. The owner, Mike, is clearly committed to quality and takes great care in every detail. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns and did an excellent job managing his crew and subcontractors. Thanks to his professionalism and organization, the entire project was completely hassle-free. Mike also provided great recommendations on flooring, shower tile, and paint color schemes that truly elevated the look of my home. The completed project was top-notch. I'm extremely happy with the results and would recommend Millsaw Construction without hesitation to anyone looking to upgrade their home and getting their money's worth. read more

Mike did an amazing job building a custom bar for our home. From start to finish he was available for questions or additions/changes. He has assembled a great group of sub-contractors electrician, tile, stone fabricator and cabinet builder. Highly recommend Millsaw Construction! We will definitely be calling Mike again for our next project. read more

This is our third major project with Millsaw Construction. Mike is legit the only contractor we trust to work on our house (an older home that was remodeled/flipped multiple times). He and his teams take away so much construction stress because he is trustworthy, communicative, and really cares about his clients and their projects. He is transparent in his estimates and explains when something (inevitably) unexpected is found and options with estimates to make it right. He's easy to reach, answers all of your questions, and is realistic about his timelines to start, to reach certain milestones, and to complete. He is there from the start to the very end. The teams that he works with are fantastic-- they know him and have worked with him before. As this is our third project with Mike, I feel like I know them too! This was our biggest project-- replacing all of the windows, flashing, and window sills and frames, fix all of the wood rot from when the old flashing failed, put insulation in, and then re-stucco. Plus we expanded the electrical box and add some outdoor outlets and lights. We basically re-built our house. Mike estimated 8 weeks, he and his teams got it done a bit ahead of schedule. The house looks brand new and I feel even better knowing that the past wrong-doings to our house are fixed. No more worrying about if heavy rain is going to cause a window to leak or what kind of mickey mouse repair job someone came up with, then covered with drywall or stucco. The peace of mind is worth everything. I recommend Mike for any and all of your home projects. read more

I hired Millsaw Construction to remove a large 4 ft by 4 ft, exterior old-fashioned, leaky window made of glass blocks and replace it with a modern window. Mike and his team were very nice, professional, and good with communication via texting. Where other contractors would try to talk you into expanding the job to re-doing all the walls that touch the window inside and outside, to basically remodeling half the room "just so it's done right", Mike was able to do exactly what was asked for, no more, no less. The resulting new window looks perfect. read more

We had a new bedroom window installed and the outside stucco repaired after water damage due to faulty flashing on the old window. Mike came to reframe the interior of our new window. He made a great choice of materials and did very pretty artisan work. The window looks beautiful. The cost was reasonable, he was on time, prepped the area, painted the framework, and vacuumed up, leaving the room ready and finished. I would recommend Mike 100% read more

Hired Millsaw Construction to repair a bunch of items at a rental home and I couldn't be happier with the service, response and professionalism. I was worried about finding someone that could help with a random repairs and replaces, but he stepped right up! Pros: -No cost overages, what I was quoted is what I paid. -Absolute professional -Easily scheduled and worked with the tenants schedule. -Finished in record time, but without compromising quality. -Honest and upfront Cons: -None Absolutely recommend using Millsaw Construction!! read more

Mike is a true professional and very honest. He puts quality time into personalizing your estimate, line item by line item. This takes time, so we gladly paid his estimate fee for the visit because we know it is credited towards the final invoice when you decide to move forward. We were serious about the project and needed a GC that was on our level. Mike is great with communicating the progress of the project (we were out of town for most of the work) and always makes sure we are on the same page. We can't wait to work with him again! read more

Mike was every level of the word professional. He came out to our place and was patient with us, listened and answered every question we had. We had him give us an estimate on a landscaping project, his estimate was very detailed plus he included a drawing of the project which not many contractors would do. After going line item by line item with my wife we decide to just start with our fence since it was in our budget and in desperate need of replacing. The moment we gave Millsaw the green light things started rolling almost immediately. Mike was on site to make sure things were moving along smoothly and to our expectations. When we weren't around he sent us pictures of the progress via text. I've never felt so well taken care of. Mikes processes from estimate to final product is well worth his fee for coming out and accessing the project. Plus he applies the estimate fee to the invoice!! Thats amazing! Others that charge for their time would never do that. Mike is a no bull and all business type of guy and thats what I love about him. Millsaw Construction is definitely my go to contractor for all future projects, I trust them with my home. Thanks for my awesome new fence Mike. I look forward to our next project. read more

My husband and I thought we would try installing a new front door on our home and it was a disaster. It didn't close or latch properly and neither of us knew what to do to fix it. So it just sat there in in disrepair for months with no moldings reminding us of our failure. We were defeated by a stupid door. I finally decided enough was enough and called Mike to see if he could help us. He showed up 30 minutes early and got straight to work. It was clear this guy was a professional and knew exactly what needed to be done. Within a matter of hours he had the door properly installed and even put the interior and exterior molding on for me. He explained what we had done wrong (which was great because it was bothering us not knowing) and exactly what we needed to do to finish and paint the moldings. Mike is a pro, easy to work with, and has reasonable rates. I'm very happy I called him and I'm thrilled with my new (functioning) front door. Thank you! read more

We are very pleased with Millsaw Construction's remodel of our bedroom, hallway and bathroom. Mike is very professional, punctual, and conscientious. He did the work we had agreed to, on schedule, and for the amount he estimated. He and his subcontractors were all very nice and did quality work. Mike communicated with us regularly to make sure we knew what was going on, and to get our input whenever it was needed. My wife and I couldn't be happier. read more

Pretty odd that you would require a payment for a quote on a job. Most reasonable people working on large projects will want to have 2 or 3 bids prior to deciding on a subcontractor. If all subs followed your approach, consumers would be out hundreds of dollars before even starting the project. If you have enough business coming your way that you can turn away anyone not willing to spend $150 to have you quote the job, more power to you. read more

Mike did a fantastic job with my kitchen remodel. They removed a wall, rewired the electrical and plumbing, tiled the floor and backsplash, and installed new appliances. He communicated extremely well, getting back to me right away throughout the process. Once I was with a friend when Mike called to check up on something and my friend was surprised because she can't get a contractor to return a call, much less take the initiative to call her. His estimate was detailed and right on. He always arrived early, was friendly and professional, and finished the project exactly when he said he would. He has great subcontractors who do high-quality work. He coordinated with my cabinet installer to make sure it all flowed smoothly. I highly recommend Mike and his team and I will not hesitate to use their services for my next project. read more

Mike is the absolute best! He remodeled out living room and start to finish it was a fantastic experience. His subs are polite, punctual, clean and do great work. Mike (the owner) is extremely punctual, friendly, a perfectionist, open to ideas and makes suggestions you may not have thought of. When the company purchased our fireplace did a shoddy install, Mike called them out for doing it wrong, and helped us get the issues corrected. We received quotes from several companies and Millsaw's prices were very competitive. We were so happy with Millsaw Construction we hired them to renovate the master bathroom, kitchen, and flooring in our rental home and my mother in law hired him to renovate her home. They also get in, get the job done, and get out. Don't be put off by the consultation fee. It just means that he is serious. I have worked with several contractors in the past and Mike & Millsaw were a breath of fresh air. Don't hesitate to go with them! read more

I just had Mike come out yesterday to take a look at our closets. My husband and I have decided to start upgrading our home after six years (it was time). Getting to our closet doors, I fell in love with the bi-fold doors with a specific design but unfortunately our closet door openings are not the standard size to fit the standard 'sold-in-store' sizes from Lowe's. After getting the run around from quite a few other people, and other companies that rejected to even bid on the job (understandably, it's a rather small job); Mike was amazing about it. I contacted him via message through Yelp and I heard back from him within 15-20 minutes- it was in the evening but he still responded to tell me he was just sitting down for dinner but he believed he could help me with my problem and that he would contact me the following day. Sure enough, first thing in the morning, I had an email from him. He sent me his contact information and through text message we set up a day for him to come out..On a Saturday. How great is that!? It worked so wonderfully for my schedule. He took a look at the two closets I want doors for, he measured..a few times, to be sure; he explained my options. We decided at the time that custom made doors might be the best route so he said that he'd look around and contact a few places and (because most places are closed for the weekend) he'd get back to me the following Monday. Well, Monday hasn't come yet (it's Sunday 2/22) but he even texted me today with pictures of doors he found at Home Depot that would work but are slightly different than they style I wanted. I insisted that I really love the style I had already picked out so that if the quote for the custom made doors where within our budget, I'd really like to go that route...but would keep his suggestions in mind if they end up being more than I'd like to spend on the job. I also asked if he would install little doorknobs that I had picked up from Lowe's while he's installing the doors and he quickly said that he would. I am so grateful to have found Mike and Millsaw Construction. I know he didn't have to take on this job as it is small and I'm sure he could be using his time on a bigger job. I really cannot express how happy I am to have found him. I will update my status once the job is complete but I had to rave about how awesome Mike is for listening to my needs and working hard with my neurotic behind to get this done the way I see it in my head. UPDATE #1- Mike came out bright and early this morning (2-24) to install the bi-fold closet doors in my master bedroom. He did and AMAZING job and the doors look great. He didn't 'just' install the doors. As I sated previously, the doors were not an exact fit...so he had to make the opening wider in order to accommodate the doors. It took him a few hours and the work was excellent. He'll soon be moving on to the doors in the other room that I wanted. After doing the research for me (and a dead end through Home Depot) Mike and I decided together that the easiest and cheaper route would be to have to doors custom made; he's contacting the door company he commonly deals with to order the doors and will be back to install them as soon as they come in. I am SO happy with his work and he is such a nice and patient man; definitely knows how to interact with his clients. I will be back with my final update as soon as my second closet is done. UPDATE #2 Mike just finished the second bi-fold closet doors (3/3/15). They look amazing! He takes his time to make sure everything is done right and to your liking. An added bonus is that he likes to keep your home clean and will do a great job cleaning up after doing his work...which makes me very happy as someone who likes to keep a very clean and organized home. I honestly cannot express how awesome he is. He keeps you in the loop every step of the way making sure to talk to you about any changes in price or product; although he worked very hard to get me exactly what I wanted (and I'm very headstrong) at the lowest possible price. I HIGHLY recommend Mike & Millsaw Construction; I will definitely be calling him again for future projects. Thanks again, Mike..for everything :) read more

Let me just start by saying that working with Mike at Millsaw construction is as good as it gets. He is the gold standard for contractors. After having some shotty work done on my home by a different contractor (one that took forever for the smallest things and couldn't even get those right) I was in desperate need of help. I contacted Mike & he came out promptly to get me a quote. What started as fixing a few small things left behind by previous half finished jobs turned into a laundry list. I had him do many jobs small and large and he didn't even bat an eye. In just 3 days his team did about 10 jobs including new flooring & paint in my master bedroom. He is the master of time management, has great attention to detail and all at a fair price. It really doesn't get better than this. I will continue to call him for all my home projects. read more

I gave Millsaw Construction a call to install my overhang microwave. The issue was that in order for the microwave to sit flush with the cabinets the granite backsplash that was already there needed to be cut. Additionally, no other company was willing to come out for such a small job and/or complete the cut of the granite on the wall. Mike answered and gave me a couple options that we could go with. You can trust this company to get the job done right! When a truck ran into our concrete wall, I contacted Millsaw Construction based on the high yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Mike responded quickly via email and came out to give us an estimate the following day. The breakdown of costs was detailed and the time frame to complete the job was reasonable. He even worked with our home insurance adjuster when they gave us some resistance about paying for the job. Mike was there daily to oversee the work to ensure everything was done correctly. Communication was transparent and Mike was very responsive. We hired Mike to fix a leak coming from our shower. He was prompt and courteous in all his responses, and quoted us a fair and reasonable price. We actually had great interactions with the other contractors we asked quotes from, but Mike was the only one who correctly diagnosed the underlying issue that was causing the leak. Turns out it was the excess water and moisture coming from our shower, and due to its age, needed resealing. These guys did an amazing job remodeling our house! I love the quality of their work and especially how fast they got the job done.

We have been homeowners for over 43 years. There isn't a home improvement project we haven't taken on over the years. This most recent home remodel, on our newly purchased home, however, was going to be our most extensive. We had a time frame, and like everyone...a budget. We met Mike of Millsaw Construction/Roseville and let him know what our dream remodel would look like. He listened intently, asked precise questions, made suggestions and the very next day delivered a quote. Mike made sure to go over every detail, line by line of his quote. We were so impressed right off the bat! Mike has the best craftsman on the job that are truly reflective of his desire to please and to meet his customers expectations. Mike goes above and beyond to please you. How often can words like: "exciting", "easy", and "seamless" be used when describing a remodel project? Well, that's exactly what you will be saying if you hire Millsaw for your next home project. Thank you, Mike, for turning our dream remodel into a reality!!! read more
