5 stars all the way! Omar saw our "complicated" project, and let us know he could do it and was happy to take on a challenge. We are very happy with Omar and his company. I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it! read more

What started as a glimmer of a dream in my mind a year ago has evolved into the dream home for my son and I thanks to the guidance and craftsmanship by the team at Noor Construction. As the parent of an adult quadriplegic in a power wheelchair there are unique needs and requirements for our home. We found that the homes in the new developments do not understand the importance of truly open floor plans, wider doorways , accessible baths , and enhanced safety for the disabled community. After realizing this, we decided to update our existing home to better match our needs and approached Noor Construction about adding new square footage and renovating other areas. Living in Massachusetts, and purchasing a retirement home in Sacramento meant having to work with a Construction firm long distance. My experience with Noor Construction was a very good one. I absolutely love the work that Omar and his crew conducted. My project was a small project, the addition of a closet in a spare bedroom, yet they paid very close attention to all the details. When the project unexpectedly grew in scope due to issues with my old paint, the crew pivoted smoothly to make sure the new closet fit in flawlessly with the remainder of the room. Omar also did not charge me extra; he stood behind his contract price to get the job completed correctly. I know first hand how difficult it is to find a good contractor. We had severe water damage to the side of our house from the rain season. Water was leaking into our kitchen thru two kitchen windows and it was originally a mystery. Omar came in and found the issues immediately. (he responded immediately after I requested an eval and a free estimate). He was first to give us a quote. We first contacted Omar over 3-4 years ago for an estimate on a kitchen reno for our previous house. Fast forward a couple of years. We decided to move rather than remodel. Omar remembered us and began giving us advice on work and very rough costs during our search with the understanding that we would move forward with him when we did buy. We chose an older home with foundation and mold issues. His estimates broke down what was necessary to resolve the foundation and mold vs all the things we wanted to do to customize. Our remodel took roughly three months and began with foundation and extensive mold remediation that required all the dry wall to come down, including the ceilings. Omar's team was here almost everyday except when weather prevented either outside or inside work to delay. There was no need for me to call to ask when someone would show up. Two things I think were really exceptional were the fact that Omar always looked to save us money whenever possible as worked progress and then credited the savings to our invoices. I reached out with a list of items I needed to get done: siding repair and repaint, roof, seal and insulation, gutters, some cement work, etc. I provided my address and informed Omar that I worked from home so I was flexible on date and time. He responded and asked if Monday worked. I said that was fine just let me know a time frame. He said he had an inspection scheduled between 8-12, but he'd let me know when he was coming. 4:15pm rolls around and he asks if he can reschedule for the following day to which I say yes, and inform him the morning would be best because I have some meetings in the afternoon. By this time I am starting to feel a little uneasy, but figure hey, stuff happens and chalk it up to that. Anyway he says sure and that he'll keep me posted tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning comes and goes. By this time I'm highly uneasy and skeptical about this company. At 12:00pm he says good morning, and asks if I'm available now. I responded 7 minutes later and say yes. (I only responded 7 minutes later because I was pondering if I wanted to still continue.) He respond at 12:11 and says good, I am his next stop AFTER an inspection, which will be between 1:30-2:30p. I reminded him that I have meetings and informed him of my availability. I told him if he can't come now then let me know his availability. Why ask if I'm available now if you won't be coming for another 1.5 to 2.5 hours. By this time I've had it. Let me know when you can come out like all other companies. If you've overbooked yourself, keep me informed not in the dark. Book a week out with me instead of making "appointments" you can't keep. I wasn't in a rush and said so on my yelp inquiry. He said he would call but when he called around 4:00pm my son and I were outside in the front yard playing. I was done with Noor Construction at this point anyways. If you can't keep your commitments for a quote, what's it going to be like if you were actually "doing" the work..... As a single parent, I cannot always answer my phone so quickly. If you're texting me, then I assume it's safe to text you back. Plus, it's my documentation so it doesn't become a he said/she said. He said he called on Thursday to make an appointment, but I have no missed calls from him. I highly recommend Noor Construction and Omar Alkhals for any job you are planning. Mine was a relatively small one (although with huge benefits to me). I had what is called a banjo shelf extension from my bathroom vanity over the toilet. It was originally installed so the shelf was too close to the top of the toilet tank so that the lid could not easily be removed and one could not see into the tank if repairs were needed. Also, the shelf extended out from the back wall too much so that the toilet seat would not stay up when lifted. I had not been able to get anyone to come see the job once it was explained until Omar. It involved the removal of the shelf being very careful with the hand painted tiles, resetting the edging tiles, repairing the sheetrock and painting the walls. Omar would tell me the approximate time his workers would arrive and then close to the projected time let me know when they were on their way. He came by with each different trade and made sure they understood what needed to be done and returned after to inspect and make sure it was complete and done well. All workers were polite, friendly and did their work very well. They put down brown paper so they walked on that instead of tracking any debris through the rest of the house, and then cleaned all of it up and took it away. Each worker knew their trade and did an excellent job; I did not have to ask anyone to fix their work. The job was completed very quickly. I was not left without the bathroom for days on end while the next trade was lined up; it was very coordinated. I am very happy with the final product and with the process. Look no further for General contracting services. We had a serious torrential rain with tornado warnings which resulted in a leak on my master bedroom window that we believed came from the upper sill, so I figured this one was going to cost me. I found Noor Construction which had 5-star reviews on Yelp. The response was quick, and he showed up a couple days later. When Omar showed up at my house, he was very professional and friendly. Now my experience with anything with water damage in the past meant visual inspection of location, and the roof, workup of a guestimate, then a hefty bill to follow. Not Omar, he breaks out a temperature senser, and literally shows me where the water flowed from and to, so again I think cool, but still going to cost me. Then he breaks out a drone, casts to my TV and it's time for roof inspection. He sees my roof is in excellent shape, so things are looking up, then he sees I have a ventilation grate for the attic which he points out as the culprit. I can clearly see the slopping of the grate is inclined the wrong way, so the water flows in rather than out. Damn home builders. Omar says to me all you need to do is hire a handy man to flip the grate and re-cock. I am thinking, what? This guy just worked himself out of a job, which he easily could have rung up a hefty bill. I asked him what about you? Just write me a review about your experience and we can call it even. Now I realize and I hope you do as well, that not every project will necessarily be this cost effective with Omar, but one thing is evident to me. Anyone this ethical, and well prepared to offer this level of service for an estimate, clearly is going to take that kind of care with whatever project I or you put before him and do so with a reasonable price tag. He literally just left, and I am drinking the proverbial Cool-Aid and writing this immediately out of respect for him and this company. In fact, I stopped just before saying goodbye, and asked him to work up a bid for my flooring project I started upstairs myself but have been putting off downstairs for years. Recently we had a local handyman come to our place to repair a door sweep and he did not install it properly. It was rubbing against the threshold which made the door difficult to open and close. The handyman tried to fix the problem but instead of adjusting the door sweep he put three dents into the threshold. We called Omar from Noor Construction and he came out to inspect the problem. He recommended a particular door sweep that can be purchased from Home Depot and that it was something that we could install ourselves on the inside of the door. He said that this would provide a proper seal since the threshold had been damaged. He came 45 minutes out of his way and didn't charge for his time. I would highly recommend Omar. We hired him and his team to fix our stairs, but it turns out there were a lot more issues with it that we did not foresee. He didn't abandon the project like most contractors normally would, but he completed it with the utmost patience. From the countless meetings to planning to inspection, he fulfilled everything to perfection. We also appreciated him keeping us in the loop all the way so we were aware of what the situation was. We had a number of home repairs to be done as we ready our home for sale. Some of the work done was touching up the sta iui n on kitchen and bathroom cabinets, touching up the paint throughout the house, replacing smoke detectors, putting in a Ring doorbell, repairing our electric address marker, repairing the weatherstripping on a number of doors, etc. Omar Noor of Noor Construction has been fabulous! I would give them 10 stars if I could! Omar and his team saved us when we realized we were in way over our heads with our DIY kitchen renovation! I wish we had called them from the beginning! We had planned to hire someone else for our cabinet install, but the quote came in WAY over budget! We had demoed the kitchen and had deadlines for flooring and appliance installation and were anxious to get our house put back together. We were on the verge of trying to install our cabinets ourselves, but I knew we didn't have the time or experience to do it well. I called around for quotes and no one wanted to take on the job since they hadn't started it. We called Omar and he was there within a day, got our estimate quickly, was very reasonably priced, and started the work within the week.
