We chose JV Cabinets because we specifically wanted solid wood cabinetry with a painted finish, and at the time, we believed we were paying for higher quality. After completing the project and later comparing with other options, it became clear that the pricing was not aligned with the level of quality we received. The paint has started rubbing off within a year, the drawer hardware feels very low quality (mostly plastic), and the drawers did not close properly from the installation. The drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms are low quality, feel cheap and unreliable, and the slide system doesn't function properly. With our prior Ikea drawers, which had metal throughout, that was never an issue. These are fundamental issues that should not occur at this price point. Support was also a challenge. Communication felt defensive, and we had to follow up multiple times just to get someone to come out for fixes. Based on our experience, we would not recommend JV Cabinets. There are other providers offering solid wood cabinets with noticeably better build quality and finish for similar, or lower cost. read more

When I was introduced to this company by my brother, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. Since my brother's project was larger, it quickly became clear that mine -- which was smaller in scope -- was treated as unimportant. Communication was slow, and I was even told my project had been deprioritized. Before leaving for a trip to Europe, we made a verbal agreement that they would proceed with my project. They sent payment instructions, but due to a mistake on my end (entering the wrong account number), the payment didn't go through. Instead of following up to ask why, they canceled my project entirely without warning. To make matters worse, Jaime, the account manager, insulted me by accusing me of being a fraud. When I spoke with management, I expected at least some understanding or acknowledgment of the issue -- instead, I was met with silence and was told nothing would be done. In fact, they seemed to support Jaime's behavior. They also claimed my $9K project was below their minimum, but that figure didn't even include the table tops I had planned -- which would have put it well over. My advice: do not rely on verbal contracts with this company. If you do, be prepared for disappointment. I think anyone in my position would be justified in being upset, and I wouldn't want others to go through the same experience. I think i have a right to be disappointed don't you think? read more

I finally pulled the trigger and decided to update my kitchen. I contacted JV Cabinets due to their 5 star review on Yelp and Andy came out and gave me a quote on refacing the cabinets with soft close drawers and new countertop. After a few days pondering over the quote, I gave Andy a call to go for it. Jaime then came out and took the measurements of the kitchen. They won't order the cabinets until you decide on the color and they said it will be 13 to 16 weeks out to do the job once I decided on the cabinet color (btw, they called me early and was able to do in 10 weeks time). Miguel and his team came out on Monday and covered the kitchen area to minimize the dust. They finished the installation in 2 days..fast. The countertop installers came out 2 day later and installed it with 3 hours. The only thing I had to do was called the plumber and install my new faucet to the new sink I purchased. Miguel and team came out the next day for a final walk thru and wiped the cabinets and countertop down and made sure everything went smoothly. Overall, very smooth from beginning to end and Jaime keep constant contact once the job started to make sure everything was going well. It only took me 4 days to get my kitchen redone, granted my kitchen is not huge, but a decent size. I would definitely call them again as they didn't skip a beat and got the job done fast. For my kitchen, I went with white cabinets to make my kitchen look bigger and the gray cabinets for the island to give it a modern twist to it. The black handles was a pop of accent color, so I chose a faucet that was a mixture of silver and black to give it the modern look and kept the feel of kitchen color. When I started planning my 30 year old kitchen refresh, I expected to get new cabinets. However, as I thought about the upheaval it might bring and the fact that I was happy with my existing layout, I started looking at refacing. JV Cabinets impressed me because they are licensed, were an established business, and had good reviews. Very impressed. JV refaced my kitchen cabinets, put in soft-close hinges and drawers, and installed a new sink (among other things to redo my kitchen) in May 2021. Here it is July 2024 and one door no longer closes softly. No biggie but it is a door I use alot. I contacted Jaimie who had me send him photos and try one easy fix which didn't work. So Miguel and Roberto came out and replaced the hinges on the door. While they were at it, Miguel and Roberto re-caulked the area behind the kitchen sink that had started to peel away (lots of water in this area).
