This is a family-run business and Ruben, his father, and his brother are all extremely professional, thorough, approachable, and kind. We experienced some needed changes during the refinishing of our entire house. Certain areas that are too stained to match everything (requiring replacing those boards or choosing a darker stain if you prefer), we believed we had hardwood flooring under the kitchen laminate and it turns out we did not. Each step of the way, Ruben would calmly lay out our options, and quickly show us the cost of each option. It was a very large project. They replaced all of our base boards and door trims throughout the house as well as refinishing floors throughout the entire house. We stayed in a hotel during the work and Ruben gave consistent updates so that we had a good guess of which day we move back into the house and plan accordingly for that. I would describe Ruben's approach as "high-touch". Answers questions via text, always happy to stop by just to drop off samples of colors or materials. I really appreciated this. This is a licensed and insured local business with a stellar reputation which is why we went with them. I'm so happy we did. If you're thinking about any home project that fall into this domain, I highly suggest you connect with Ruben so that he can help make recommendations and give you insight into variables and logistics. It was a great experience and I learned so much from it. Thank you team! read more

I was looking forward to getting a quote from Ruben because I see he does great work and others had great things to say. Unfortunately, Ruben did not follow through with our agreed upon time and date to come out for an estimate and was a no call, no show. read more

Initial review and quote were very quick. Able to schedule a wood floor refinishing around my schedule. We did a major change of stain and scope after they arrived and they accommodated this without issue. Small details were addressed and the final results were above our expectations. Highly recommend this family run and very professional company. Quality work. read more

We just had our floors refinished and could not be happier with the results. Ruben and his team did an exceptional job restoring our Brazilian cherry floors--the depth of color and finish came out absolutely stunning. They used Bona Traffic HD, which I'd researched and specifically wanted, and they applied it flawlessly. Beyond the quality of the work, Ruben was communicative, professional, and clearly took pride in getting every detail right. The whole process was smooth from start to finish, and the floors now feel like the centerpiece of the house. Highly recommend this team to anyone--worth every penny! read more

Jay, Reuben, and Javier are fantastic. They did a wonderful job with our hardwood floors. We had to replace a section, Jay stitched it perfectly. Reuben, Javier, and team sand, stained, and applied 3 coats to protect the floors. They used machinery to minimize the dust and protected area's with barriers. We highly recommend. Will go back to them for future projects. Thanks very much! read more

Doesn't reply to Yelp messages/quotes. Reached out to ask for an estimate, waited a week and reached out again.

First time home buyer here! I knew I had to get multiple quotes before choosing a contractor for any construction of the home. I've found Ruben through the social media! He came to our home with flyers, samples, and wood trims to help us make a decision on what to do with my original wood floors. He walked us through the details of filling the cracks in the wood after sanding the top layer, in which other contractors didn't. I have two bedrooms with mold mediation, in which parts of the wood floors were removed. Ruben's team replaced the same sized woods in both bedrooms and now they looked seamless. You can't even tell that they've replaced the wood pieces! Renovating our new home has increased our anxiety with so many questions and concerns. But Ruben and his team have been kind, empathic, compassionate, understanding, and mostly patient. Communication has been great! He's answered all my text messages and comment on IG. He gave me an update everyday. They've also cleaned my home spotless when they're done with the floors. It was very thoughtful of them leaving us gifts to keep the floors clean and spotless. I've chosen a red mahogany floor stain on my original wood floors. Ruben, Christoper, and their father worked magic on those floors! This side of the house looks and smells like new! They've brought life back into this 1956 home. I can't wait for them to return and finish off the other side! read more

Great company, fast response, beautiful workmanship. Quality! Would highly recommend.

The best company I've worked with in floor refinishing. Top of the line tools and service. You won't regret using them.

Refinishing your hardwood floors is a big expense, and if you're going to spend the money you want to be sure to pick the right contractors. I highly recommend the team at Hardwood Flooring Experts. Ruben and his team are patient, kind, and talented. My wife and I had a hard time picking a stain color for our mix of red oak, white oak, and parquet floors, and Ruben was incredibly understanding and painted countless large samples to help us decide. They also removed stained wood, replaced broken flooring, and installed new baseboards. Their work product speaks for itself, our floors look fantastic and brought a total refresh to our old home. We feel like it's a whole new house and we're so happy we hired Hardwood Flooring Experts. read more

I have a rental in Modesto that I discovered original 3/4 in tongue and groove hardwoods under the carpet, problem was they were stained, had gaps and where the wall heater used to be they were missing, contacted a couple of companies, most only installed and did not refinish or repair, I used Hardwood flooring experts contact page off their website and was surprised that I got a response, Reuben came out, gave a very professional estimate that was fair, took 5 days from start to finish-they have professional equipment and vans, they were clean, good communication, I honestly have zero complaints other than my new tenants have WAY better floors than I have in my own house, they turned out spectacular. read more

Hardwood Flooring Experts are absolute masters at their craft. They worked together last year to restore nearly 1,200 sq ft of 100-year-old white oak floors. These floors had terrible water damage, pet stains, and scuffs for a century of wear and tear. Reuben and his father sanded what they could, replaced damaged wood, and stained in a beautiful Jacobean finish. The work was beautifully executed with all previous imperfections perfectly repairs and/or concealed. Their communication was incredibly responsive and the price was very competitive. This project was from January this year and life distracted me, but I am returning nearly a year later to leave this review because the experience was that good. Highly recommend! read more

I inherited a home from my mom and needed to fix a badly damaged hardwood floor. I had called another company that had great reviews as well but they gave me an estimate without even seeing the floors (carpet still down) and tried to push me into putting hardwood in the kitchen and their estimate was very high. When I first spoke with Ruben, the first thing he asked was if the floor was exposed, so he could give me an accurate estimate. He even broke it down at my request by room, he knew my budget was tight. This is a family-owned business, and you get family customer service and no runaround and immediate response! Hardwood experts are so accommodating and professional. They put many samples down on my floor before I finally found the one I wanted. Their attention to detail is awesome and their patience with me makes them a 10 in my book. You can not go wrong using Hardwood Experts! I would use them again in a heartbeat read more
