Jeff and JoAnn were great from start to finish. I waited a few months to post my review because I wanted to be sure everything would hold up. And it has. Our kitchen cabinets were so old and beat up--original from the 1970's. Jeff showed us what he could do, was patient and did not push us into our decision. We decided to have a refacing with custom pull-outs and new drawers. We ordered eight pull out drawers (3 for the deep pantry, 4 for the cabinets on either side of the range, and one for garbage next to the dishwasher). Jeff worked with us to get just the right color for the cabinet base and new doors. We were tough customers! JoAnn kept us informed the whole way through and returned our phone calls promptly. We were never in the dark and we felt confident that the job was getting done. I called to schedule an appointment Joanne very friendly on the phone got me an appointment within two days. Jeff her husband showed up for the appointment right on time very pleasant very professional. Gave me three different bids for different services. Didn't try and talk me into anything. We went with having our cabinets cleaned. Their son Cole did the job. Omg my cabinets look brand new I am so happy. Cole worked hard on those cabinets. I merely wanted cleaning and restoration, thought I was given a fair estimate ($1500) (wrong#1); should have discussed with my partner (wrong#2); rushed getting work done (wrong#3); wasn't here to observe (w#4); didn't notice the gouge in the floor until 2 days later and was pressured into writing a check immediately. At $200/hour, I overpaid. Go to Lowe's, get steelwool, solvent, sandpaper, stain and polyurethane. Hubby is doing the rest of cabinets in the house. My bad. read more

So disappointing to see again, no responsibility. Many request made to have Jeff come out and address the issues and not once did he come. Email sent explaining our many issues that was not responded to and voicemails not returned. We have all the documents together if you would like to meet and discuss as KMO has had zero desire to address any of the issues or send out Jeff for a final walk-through that was actually part of our agreement but KMO lacked responding to us once final payment was made. The issues had been brought to KMO attention when we questioned if your son was coming back or not, at the first installment of pull out drawers and again at the second installment of pull out drawers. Issues were then brought to your attention several more times afterwards, I wouldn't consider following up on KMO not responding to us for months later would be considered us bringing it to your attention in an untimely manner. read more

If I could give them 10 Stars I would! I can't tell you how many people I had quote will all different options to refresh our high-end kitchen. I love the look of our kitchen, our cupboards were just falling apart so I needed someone to be reasonably priced and also do a fabulous job keeping my kitchen the way we love it with the same look, but with beautiful new excellent quality drawers and doors. We did have some minor adjustments that they were easily able to accommodate, for example converting an unused dishwasher space into a pull out garbage unit in our island. They also color matched our previous color EXACTLY so all the trim never had to be touched. Owners Jeff and Joanne were a pleasure to work with along with David, Cole, and the paint spray specialist. Highly recommend and very clean, neat, and worked around our family. Would use them again amd SO happy with my choice!!! Even our golden doodle loved them!! read more

They refinished our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. This was their special process. The cabinets looked very good when they finished and we did the check as they required and there seemed to be no problems. After 3 months some spots appeared. It look me a few calls, but they sent the very nice technician in and he repaired them. read more

I was very happy with the estimation and measuring process as Jeff was very friendly and informative. We got white cabinet painting over dark wood and new doors. I'm concerned with the quality of paint work, maybe I'm a bit anal from painting jobs I had in college. I could get over the streaks of pain here and there (you can still see the dark wood color peeking through in some spots) because I can touch that up myself. But when there's paint splatter all over appliances, tile and grout, it's hard to miss. It's caused more work for me than I'd like, because now I have to scrape paint, and re-grout some areas in my kitchen. $8k got the major work done, I kind of cringe thinking I spent that much considering the clean up I have to do. read more

They did the work as they said they would, on time, on budget and best of all they worked well with the client and did not put him through any undue stress. It ended up taking a little over a week for them to rip out the old kitchen and install the new one. the service was great. The staff was on time and efficient. I called Kitchen Make-Overs and JoAnn set me up with a last minute appointment for a quote. Jeff showed up on time and the quote was very reasonable. Because I had not moved in to my new place yet, JoAnn was able to schedule me in so that the work could be done before I moved in. David showed up on time and was awesome. Wow, reading some of the reviews surprises me and prompts me to write a good one. We had Kitchen Makeovers clean and finish our oak cabinets -- all in one day. They looked like new and still look great 10 months later. Jeff also revamped my pantry, putting in rolling shelves, and made new drawer fronts for a new drawer, and a trash drawer, all to match my 27 year old cabinets. I spent a good deal of time with Jeff discussing the possibilities and everything turned out beautifully. His finish/carpenter did a great job. I highly recommend them. read more

This review is from a number of years ago. After they finished the bathroom cabinets there was still dust on the top crevice. Had the kitchen done as well and they got stain all over the paint. When I called about it all they said was "Do you have paint?" This was one day's work that cost over 1000 dollars. Yes, one thousand dollars. The workman, David I believe, was here on time and really did a nice job. He was very professional and left the kitchen as clean as it was when he came in. I've put off giving this review because I have mixed feelings about this company but they keep sending me emails to review them so here goes. We had a drawer fixed by them ages ago and they did good work. Our maple cabinet finish in our kitchen and master bath needed some help so I called them and made an appointment. Jeff came out to do the estimate and he was great to work with. We discussed options and agreed on the work to be done and the price for the restoration plus building out a drawer for my spices and I set up a time for the work to be done. All was good up to that point. After the initial appointment, I had gone back and forth on whether I would go with the color on the cabinets or try to go a bit darker -- I called them and Jeff's wife said that I could discuss with David the day he came out to do the work. Here's where things went astray. David showed up quite a bit late and wasn't prepared for the size of the job nor did he know anything about the color decision. He also knew nothing about a piece of trim that needed replacing nor the spice drawer he had to build. All of this had been discussed with Jeff. David said he couldn't get the job done that day which was going to be a huge issue -- I had been told it was no problem to get done in one day and I was not going to be available the following day. David then called to get help and another guy showed up a bit later. They finally got the restoration work done on the cabinets that evening but were in such a rush to leave I didn't get to check their cleanup as well as I should have. They left sanding dust in all my cupboards and drawers and several stray pieces of wood where the new spice drawer was installed. There were also quite a lot of blobs of finish that had to be cleaned off - I caught most of them but I still find one here and there -- they didn't leave time for proper cleanup. It also took many calls and missed appointments to get that final piece of trim installed and I don't think they even finished it to match but at that point, I decided to call it a day. read more

My maple cabinets are 17 years old, and were showing water damage and normal wear and tear after all of these years. Kitchen Make-Overs came on time (within a two hour window I was given), and beautifully restored my cabinets in just one day. I inspected the cabinets before they put away their supplies, and found just a few areas that needed touch-up. I have used Kitchen Makeovers twice this year: once to refinish our kitchen and bathroon cabinets, and once to install pull-out shelves and new hinges in the kitchen. Both times the workers arrived when scheduled, the work was done well, and we are very satisfied with the final product. We had to have them return once to fix a few missed spots on the refinishing job, and there was no problem getting the work done. We will use them again next year to replace our drawers and remaining hinges. read more

I made the call and my husband was pretty skeptical but agreed because our cabinets were pretty sad looking. And so the morning that they came, my husband left for the day and the workers arrived right on time. Professional, pleasants, courteous -- and fast! Up went the shielding for the cupboards and drawers along with everyone counter, table, appliance, etc, in the entire kitchen. And then they began, worked like demons throughout the day, and I have a lot of cabinets. And then undid the shielding, cleaned up everywhere and called me in to see the lovely cabinets we had custom-made 20 years ago! They were lovely, with a gentle sheen but a wonderful soft rich glow. Husband came home after they had already left, and was properly apologetic. We've already recommended them to many, including our listing agent! Wonderful work by wonderful workers. We hired Kitchen Make-overs to do a refresh and update our kitchen. They did a great job of modifying our cabinets to accommodate new appliances, installing new drawer boxes with full extension guides, and cleaning and restoring the finish. The price was fair, they came out on time, and left the area clean when they were done. I would recommend Kitchen Make-overs to a friend and in fact our neighbor was so impressed that she had them come and do work on her home. read more

My experience with this company was time consuming and stressful from the beginning. First, owner came out to measure cabinets for roll out shelves and did not notice that four shelves were set at an angle. Homeowner had to call him to tell him that shelves could not be put in those cabinets. Homeowner had asked for cabinets to be cleaned. Owner suggested using a darker stain to "update" the cabinets. They used a "hand wipe" method on porous oak cabinets. The stain was uneven. It pooled and smudged and now cabinets look dirty. Owner came to inspect and agreed that the work was UNSATISFACTORY and said he would make corrections. However, when owner was asked how he proposed to make the corrections, or if he was going to do the work himself, he then refused to answer phone calls. Homeowner must now spend thousands to clean up cabinets. Owner sent an unskilled workman to stain the cabinets, did not oversee the job, blamed the workman for poor work and then would not discuss how corrections could be made. Homeowner had drawers installed. The drawer fronts do not match the cabinets. When homeowner mentioned this, owner said "they no longer make drawers in that style and anyway no one would notice." Once job was started, requests and suggestions by homeowner were completely ignored. I do not recommend using this company. NPR read more

My cabinets look better than they did, but still not what I expected. There were supposed to be two men here all day, but one left after about an hour and the other was here until almost 6:30 p.m. finishing. I wish we had not signed off on the work as the next day (in different lighting) we could see where some of the cabinets weren't completely restored, and some had scratches. The man that worked here was very nice and kept asking if we were happy. It was a long day for all of us, and so we missed things. They should not try to complete in a day...if they come back next day I'm sure they'd see that product has been absorbed by the older (14 yrs) wood. read more

I always tell people, "you pay what you get." That's the absolute truth. It is a little pricey, but the workmanship was outstanding. My kitchen cabinets were covered in this sticky oil film and my bathrooms were stripped of it's luster (mainly due to using the wrong products to clean the bathrooms). Yet, after restoration, they all looked brand new. It's too bad the house was going up for sale, otherwise, I would have really enjoyed looking at them every day. read more
