The buying process was obviously the best part. Easy, Steve was great and I can't say enough about how wonderful that part was. Installation? Terrible. Currently I have a team of installers here for their 3rd or 4th attempt of getting it right (mind you, the reason for the repeat visits is not my pickiness, but their inability to measure correctly). Not only that, but my "dedicated customer service person," Ross is completely absent. He called me once, and since then has returned 0/3 phone calls. We also gave him a schedule for install based on needs from electrician and he was incapable of correctly reading the email and scheduling the install team appropriately. Additionally, no apologies for my experience. A month since this install was supposed to be done and there are still drills whirring in my house. I can't speak to how 'nice' the cabinets are because I dont know if I'll ever really enjoy them. Avoid, abort, do not pass go. Pick a different provider. read more

These guys are total grifters! We are a high end contracting business who actually have our own cabinet shop. We often get too busy for our own shop to handle, so we reached out to precision to help us with a beautiful custom home in Tiburon with great clients. Unfortunately, precision cabinets, with their bs artist salesmen convinced us they could handle the project. Wrong. From their bait and switch sales pitch, to their delivery of sub par cabinets with total junior level install, our relationship with our clients took a serious hit. After repeated attempts to have them come back and fix their mistakes, we finally had to take things into our own hands to get it done right. Don't be fooled by their salesmen. Precision Cabinets lacks precision! I decided to go with Precision Cabinets because they were made locally and seemed to have a high quality product. When the cabinets were delivered they reeked of saw dust. Seems the cabinets are not dusted off before delivery and brought into peoples homes. I have severe allergies, and now I cannot go into my kitchen without wearing a mask. After the install I vacuumed several times, wiped down every cabinet surface I could reach - inside and out, and still, the saw dust lingers in the air. I hope that fades with time. When our kitchen island from Diamond Cabinets was installed it arrived clean, not smelling of saw dust. Apparently Precision does not clean off their cabinetry before delivery. The installation was less than satisfactory. They did not put up any plastic to protect my furniture or provide a dust barrier. They sawed into the cabinetry in the kitchen and saw dust went everywhere! This should have been done outside, or at least some plastic taped up to the provide a barrier! There were some dings and cracks to the cabinetry during the process, and dings to my ceiling. There was no follow up from the company to see how it went, if I was satisfied, or how & when the final touch-up appointment would happen. I spent $25,000 with them, you'd think a courtesy follow up call after installation would be in order, right? Apparently not. I do not recommend this company. Take your money else where; you'll get a better value, better service, and better product somewhere else. read more

Had the worst experience. They hire great sales people and have a really great showroom. This puts a facade that they sell premium products and can hence demand premium prices. Nick, on their team, is an experienced salesman; no doubt. The prices are higher than other cabinet shops around, which makes you believe that you will get an awesome product. But once you sign the contract, the product is subpar and crap. Had so many issues with installation, product, and coloring. Every issue first answer is "not a big deal". I should have write my review last year when my cabinets delivered brighter and shinier than expected. My order was "ocean blue" and the small wood sample they sent before delivery was ocean blue dull "not bright and shiny at all. When I asked the sample wasn't that shiny I was told sample was from 2021 and your cabinets will be less shiny as you cook and use them. Anyway back and forth with many people including Michelle Galligan manager there, I was told nothing can be done and I decided to bring interior designer and she recommended to paint around cabinets and doors white to reduce the shine and I brought someone to apply on-site paint around borders of doors and that helped slightly for brightness but after 11 months the excessive shine is still there. Now some of doors started to lag behind self closing hinge and as result stays open at the end with some misalignment. Inside one of cabinets the ocean blue color chipped off. I took pictures and sent pictures to Michelle Galligan and after one week of leaving messages and sending her emails with no response I called service department and sent the pictures to Hannah Sorvari and this is exactly her response copied and pasted: "I am going over this issues with my team and unfortunately, we are not taking on any aftermarket touch ups or adjustments. Your home was a delivery only job on our end, so we would recommend the team you had install your cabinets to come back and do the adjustments and touch ups. I was informed by the Tech we sent out there last that he had left the spray can of paint with your home. The team should be able to use that can to perform any touch ups. I have attached a video reference for the adjustments for the hinges as well". Are you kidding me Hannah. I have never heard after market touch ups and so on. You mean after spending thousands of dollars on kitchen cabinet you don't even have any warranty on your products. My contractor said the doors that have issues hinges are defective and your purchasing company should be able to replace them. Stay away from this business. We've spent over $30k on Precision Cabinets. After only four years, all of our drawer cabinets bottoms started separating. Upon close inspection, we noticed that it's simply stapled on. After several months of going back and forth, Precision Cabinets denied our warranty claim. They either need to stand by their work or make better cabinets. I was really hoping to put in a great review for precision cabinets, but we have been working with them for new construction and they have been nothing but uncooperative in collaborating on small alterations to the cabinets that they are installing. They were not even able to accommodate a request to not install/Predril the knobs/pulls because they were the wrong dimensions (keep in mind this is $60K worth of cabinets) . Karin, who has been barely helping us has been incredibly slow at responses, and unaccommodating. I am writing this review just from the experience interacting with Karin on behalf of precision cabinets. We have not even received the cabinets yet. After twenty-seven years, the wife and I decided it was time for a kitchen remodel. Our designer, Robin Ebding from Eye4Design said there is only one vendor for custom cabinets - Precision Cabinets in Brentwood, CA. To be honest, neither my wife nor myself had ever been to Brentwood. Robin scheduled a meeting at Precision with our contact, Steve Galligan, what a professional. First of all, the showroom is huge with many kitchen vignettes reflecting the various styles they manufacture. Steve took the time to walk us through the various styles of cabinets, wood, stains, paint; I think they can do almost any custom option a person might want. We selected a shaker style door, wood we wanted, paint and a few other features the wife wanted. A measuring crew came to our home to take measurements and gave us a couple of additional ideas. We received our cabinet cost after the measurements were completed and we finalized our list of options. Steve and his departments were easy to work with; we even received a factory tour. Nothing like seeing product being made. Cabinets were completed a week earlier than anticipated, no problem. Precision kept the finished cabinets then delivered and installed when our contractor finished his prep. Three weeks after installation, Pepe, the cabinet adjuster arrived. Pepe is quite the professional. He did a couple of minuit paint touch-ups we hadn't even seen, made sure all doors were aligned horizontally and vertically, adjusted a couple of drawer slides and installed two additional custom pieces the wife wanted. So far so good and Amanda who has been helping us through the process has been nothing but AWESOME! if possible u should ask her for if your planning to use Precision Cabinets. The customer service however is bad. I had to call multiple times to make an appt. and we were playing phone tag. I love to support family businesses in the area that turnout quality workmanship for a bit more cost vs big box garbage. The main point of my 1 star review was due to being immediately snubbed by 2 employees like I was low rent trash, not worth their time and was told to go to Granite Expo or "big box" stores instead. We spent over $50K on kitchen cabinets and it was by far the worst experience of our entire kitchen/pantry/powder room renovation. The number of mistakes and delays were astounding. Things began poorly as our Sales designer began making small but important changes to the order for us to sign without discussing with us. Each revision seemed to have something new we only caught after careful inspection. After a long wait, install day was finally here and the first thing that happened was they installed a badly damaged custom upper that was incorrectly designed. A customer service employee told us the mistake was "by design" as if we intended to reveal the unfinished bottom section of the $10K custom cabinets. Then our seasoned contractor informed us a lower cabinet gap was too narrow to fit our standard 36 inch range while a Precision manager argued with us about the measurement from his office. Add in other doors with poorly hidden nicks and dents, a color mismatched toe kick, an upper that swung open every time the refrigerator closed, a missed broken hinge, missing pulls, poorly installed pulls, uppers of the wrong height and not aligned with each other, and finally not giving us the agreed upon soft close hinges of those custom uppers, I would avoid this company like the plague. True, the end product is nice, but getting there was a disaster. My contractor had never seen anything like this. Another local contractor in Brentwood I met through my job literally laughed out loud when I mentioned Precision to him. He then said "they have a nice product but you need to babysit them through the install. I won't let them do it and install myself." So my final take-away is the sales designers over-promise and rush you through the contract signing process. The installers are disgruntled and have poor craftsmanship and are poorly trained. The company will respond to complaints and try to make things right, but will take their time- like months. Would definitely look elsewhere if I had to do it again. read more

We wanted to build in two desks, cabinets and drawers so that the kids have a dedicated study area. If it weren't for Precision Cabinets, we wouldn't have actually done the project. While California Closets was here doing our closet, we had them give us a quote. We knew it would be cheap. That is, it would look cheap, as CA closets really should be kept in the closets (or garage), but does not really have fine finish work or use nice materials. But at least the quote gave us a frame of reference. (For the record, they did a great job in our closet, even if a bit expensive.) With that, we called a couple of contractors to get quotes for 'real' cabinetry work. We had two quotes. The first one was about triple what CA Closets quoted, and about double our budget. The second one was only double the CA Closets quote, but was ONLY for building the cabinets. It didn't include installation, counter tops or anything else. That brought the estimated total back to about double our budget. So we decided we couldn't afford the project the way we wanted to do it, and abandoned the idea. Fortunately, a neighbor had just completely redone her house and told us about Precision Cabinets. She said they did a great job, and she gave us a tour of all the work they did in her house (substantial work - an entire kitchen, the family room, guest room, dining room, etc). She said they were reasonably priced and she had already recommended them to another neighbor who also had a good experience with them. Excited that the project might be back on, we gave them a call. At first, we were disappointed that we had to go all the way out to their showroom in Brentwood for the appointment. I mean, aren't they the one trying to sell their product? Everyone else came to our house to measure and give estimates, why not them? When we drove out there, though, we quickly realized why. Their showroom (and manufacturing facility) is enormous. And as we had our design consultation, Bob S would frequently have us run over to look at an example. There is no way anybody could bring all those options to your house to show you what they have to offer, or what a particular trim looks like, etc. Had we not driven out there, it would've been like picking carpet from the Empire Carpet van instead of going to a showroom. OK, so we get the quote, and guess what? It's HALF the other quotes. That means, it's exactly on budget for us! The project is back on. I found it a little strange that their policy for first time customers is that you must have paid in full before they install. That is a classic no-no when working with contractors. However, since we had 2 neighbors down the street who both had vouched for them, we took a leap of faith. (I suggest that if you use them for a big project, you might start with a small project first. Then when you're a repeat customer, you won't have to pay in full in advance.) The end of the story is a happy one. The cabinets were installed last month, and they're beautiful. We were able to select every last option, and so it's exactly what we want (with the expert help of Bob S, who helped us figure out what we wanted when even we didn't realize). The crew was professional and left our house as clean as they found it. If you're considering a project, do yourself a favor and consider Precision Cabinets. We're glad we did! read more

We did our main kitchen, 4 1/2 bathrooms and a guest cottage kitchen. Everything was perfect except the drink refrigerator panel and media cabinet. The media cabinet was built with a toe kick on a wall where it should have been flush to the floor. It does not fit in the space. They are charging us $325 to fix the cabinet because I signed off on the design. All in all, a good experience with a few bumps at the end. Follow through would have been nice. read more

Poor quality products and terrible customer service. The bottoms of our kitchen cabinets were coming apart after three years! The manager blamed it on our housecleaners. According to him, they must be throwing BUCKETS of water on them, letting the water drip down and not drying them. I can attest this is not the case. Why would it be? Wouldn't negotiate on any point. Every negative review reflects our experience, especially regards to accountability. Even though we informed them right away that the products were defective, it took months for them to come out to look at the defects. Even more incredulous is how the technician looks at you when you point out the flaws - then tells you this is completely normal and tries to make you think you are the crazy one. Unfortunately, we did not have a choice because our builder exclusively uses this company. The irony is our builder has done a great job with every other vendor. Bottom line, beware of any custom product. It is hard to identify whether it is their wood vendor, or the paint process. For the amount of money they charge, it is shocking that the paint chips off so quickly. Be smart and clean the cabinets right away and continue to check every day for the first month. We contracted with Precision Cabinets and Trim in 2010 for A LOT of cabinets for our new and expanded kitchen. The project went very well, and the cabinets look beautilful. With a project this size, there are always issues to resolve, and these guys came through! Of particular interest, is a hugh challenge we had with our freezer. We had to replace several times to solve the problem. With the final change, our cabinets had to be modified. Chad Stanton, Customer Service Manager, did an outstanding job with a custom design for the new appliance. He made sure we were satisfied with every aspect, and had the installer come back out to take care of finishing touches. I would highly recommend Precision Cabintets and Trim, due to their attention to detail, fair prices, quality products and fantastic customer service. read more

First off, we have no problem with the finished cabinets. They look beautiful. It's the customer service of Precision Cabinets which is horrendous. We bought a new home in Trilogy and spent $88,000 in new cabinets throughout the home. A piece around the refrigerator did not conform to it, and I called them on it. It's a relatively small job. The person at PC said "we don't do jobs under $5,000". Huh? I asked them if they do business with a contractor who'll do it, and they gave me a name. After meeting with him and giving him a sample piece, he disappeared off the face of the earth. Nice. I have e-mailed, called PC many times, spoke to various people, and it's as if I have a curse on me. Nobody there will return my inquiries. This isn't a warranty issue. I'll pay for the work. I would figure it's pretty easy to make a piece that conforms to a regular refrigerator. I can't believe I'm the first person to raise this issue. What's the problem? read more

This is a review of only their customer service - we did not get far enough in the process to evaluate their product. If Nick is assigned as your sales person, run away. As fast as you can. Or ask for a different sales associate. I had read other reviews about him and figured, I can handle him. But no. He was rude, condescending, does not actually listen to what you are asking for, and pulled a bait and switch. During the initial consultation, we were quoted around $4,000 for one of our many cabinetry projects around the house. After we signed the contract and gave our non-refundable deposit of $1,100 the price suddenly went up to $11,000 - not many design modifications were made. I tried to work with him. I called him out on his BS. To no avail. We cancelled the contract which pains me since we lost most of our deposit money, but we probably saved in the end. I'm disappointed since we had heard that their products are really nice. But $11,000 for a 8X5 cabinet that did not even include installation? Hope your experience is better. And with the angles in our kitchen, this was not a standard job. The construction of the cabinets looks great! Everything fits like a glove. The installation crew was fast, friendly and efficient. It was obvious that this was not their first rodeo. The one problem that we encountered was solved the same day. The final go through was also handled in a timely manner Plus, every time my husband called the office, a real live voice answered my call and got me to the right person. I had submitted an application for here a while back ago and when I had called in to check the status of my application the person that I was speaking with seemed to be very rude he asked me if I have any construction experiences and I said sort of as I was trying to explain myself to the guy about what I know and have experience with he had a smart remark about what I had said that shouldn't be a reason for not wanting to hire someone who wants to go from being in the retail industry to being a construction worker I really feel that I was being discriminated against by this person. I'm currently unemployed at the moment and I'm doing my best to land a job somewhere that I could actually learn more about a new trade skill and to be more knowledgeable about things as time goes on. It's really frustrating to me now cause everywhere I had applied to I had gotten a few responses back but I ended being turned down for an unknown reason. read more

We have been so disappointed with precision cabinets...we used them extensively for our home including 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen including pantry. I have waited a few years to write this, constantly in the hopes that they would remedy their mistakes with us...but no such luck. The paint grade white cabinets in the kitchen began to chip, bubble and flake within 3 months of us moving in. We had precision come out numerous times to try to help fix the problems and they would paint small patches over the existing but it would inevitable chip and flake off soon after. The bottom of the island has swollen and separated from the base as though it were particle board that was soaked in water--despite not being anywhere in the vicinity of a water source. We have been SO DISAPPOINTED with Precisions handling of this, especially after such a large and expensive project. It's been several years now since our project and they cabinets appear much much older than their age. Every time one of their assessors come out they state they can't believe how new they are because they are in such bad shape. We've had to have numerous soft touch closures repaired as well every year. I would never use them again and would caution anyone else to stay away. The poor quality compounded with the total lack of accountability and customer service leave Precision with a very negative review from us... read more
