We have used Caliber twice now, once for the cabinets on a full kitchen remodel at our old home, and now for a custom hood cabinet that we needed to match already existing cabinets after we installed a new oven. We thought it would be tough to match both the style and exact color of these roughly ten year old cabinets but Mike and the crew at Caliber somehow managed to absolutely nail it. We are so thrilled with the results. The new cabinet seamlessly ties into the old ones. Caliber are true cabinet experts and we strongly recommend them for any cabinet project you have!

Though this review is a few months overdue, I wanted to give a big shout of thanks and gratitude to Michael and his team at Caliber Cabinets. They did a beautiful fantastic job in both of our kitchen and bathroom remodels last year. The kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities were custom built and installed perfectly. I specially want to acknowledge Mark who installed all the cabinetry - he was a very meticulous worker & a perfectionist. The workmanship definitely shows their dedication in the quality of work they provide to their clients. Michael works very closely with our contractor to ensure completion is done in a timely manner.

    Lots of organization.

Micheal, Jaime, and the rest of the team at at Caliber Cabinets were great to work with. They designed and installed an amazing kitchen, designed and installed a great built-in bookshelf, built-in a ton of storage for my laundry room, and stained a number of wooden bedroom doors. I have a kitchen that is now truly Houzz worthy :-)! I will gladly work with them for future projects and hope other businesses take note of their quality and customer-focus. We had a long relationship through my 8-month remodel. I had hired a general contractor who was not the brightest and Michael helped in keeping him on track. A number of measurements were off on my kitchen from what the architect had designed and what my general was building. It was Micheal's keen attention to detail that picked up on those. Had he not, and had I gone with a big-box set of cabinets, I would have been in for a lot of pain trying to fit cabinets that were designed off one measurement into a space built from another.

This review is way overdue, but I was looking at my built-ins and appreciating what an amazing job these guys did. Two years ago I got a hold of John and Mike and they were super professional and knowledgeable. Their craftsmanship is just on point, you can tell they've been doing it a long time. I sent some pictures of an idea of what I wanted and John sent me some fancy computer sketches of my ideas and it was just perfect. They were prompt and even helped with handle fixtures for the rest of the house. It wasn't overly expensive, just right for the quality of their work. Great company, so glad I found them.

This is an outstanding company with exceptional customer service and superior quality cabinetry. We could not be happier with our kitchen and our overall experience with Mike, John, Jamie and Carlos. I'll take credit for the gorgeous custom color selection, but everything else that is wonderful about our kitchen is thanks to Caliber. Strongly recommended!

    Finished master bath vanity

We had a great experience working with Caliber to do the cabinets in our kitchen and master bath, plus built-in bookcases + mantle in the living room. They also redid some closet and storage doors for us. They came highly recommended from our GC and we really enjoyed working with them. Mike and his team have years of experience and it really shows in their attention to detail. He had fabulous suggestions along the way (like adding glass panels to an upper cabinet between two windows), as well as having a great sense of humor. Also, with our LR mantle, they made a life-size mock up and brought it over so that we could see how it looked. We realized that our fireplace wasn't exactly centered on the wall and they adjusted the trim to make it look symmetrical. And we had some unusual spaces, too, due to a basement staircase. They worked closely with our GC (especially on the measurements) and did an incredible job maximizing our space. I will admit that I did have sticker shock when we first got the bids back from them. But, after doing a lot of comparison and realizing that their bid included tax and installation, we decided to move forward. I'm so glad we did! Highly recommended!!

If you are thinking of starting a kitchen project, start with a call to Caliber Cabinets. They are amazing! Michael will talk through your project with you, provide 3D drawings, and once all decisions are final, produce the most gorgeous cabinets you have ever seen! I can't recommend them highly enough. The results speak for themselves! I love my new kitchen!

My husband and I recently purchased a tri-level house, and we didn't realize there was an odd space in the wall of the bottom floor until the owners had moved out. When the house was shown to us, the owners actually had cabinets in front of it covering it up, but used the space as miscellaneous storage. The space was an odd shape, it looks rectangular, but on the sides there are vents which took up some space. With two toddlers in the house I knew immediately that we would need to have custom cabinets done in this space to keep the kids out of mischief and to store things in a more organized manner, so I called about 4 different contractors (Fremont, Newark, and Hayward) including Michael Giannechinni of Caliber Cabinets. We chose Michael because he was by far the most professional and he really listened carefully to our concerns. While I was just concerned with putting the cabinet in and making sure the kids don't use it as a hiding out space, my husband wanted to make sure we used every inch of the available space and we are able to use the electrical outlet in it. Before we met with Michael, some contractors gave us proposal of just a rectangle that would fit into it, cutting off about 30% of usable space, some contractors didn't even submit a design and told us they were just not up to it for scheduling reasons, but Michael submitted a real design that was thoughtful, considerate, and professional. His proposal was not the cheapest but it was the most thorough and thoughtful of those submitted, as it gave us different options, and based on our meeting, we knew that he was the best person for the job. My husband and I don't like to just bring in anyone into our home, contractors included, and we really liked the fact that Michael and his team (installer was Jaime) were respectful, on time, and considerate of our family. Everything went very smoothly on installation day, and we couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. Michael suggested that we match the cabinet color to the existing moldings in the house and it looks like it really belonged in the house and was built with it.

Bought a $729 toilet here, couldn't get it to fit in place and they wouldn't take it back!! When I went to return it they asked me if I placed it on the wax ring and I said "yes" because I had a helper and thought he'd already placed it, but that wasn't the case. The base was free and clear of wax. On my first attempt without the wax ring, I realized I couldn't get the bolts into the slots in the floor fitting because the bolts are inside a hole in the porcelain base of the toilet and the walls on each side of the toilet leave no room to bend my wrist and get the bolts in. At that point I realized it was impossible and decided to return it. When I returned it, they asked if I had put it on the wax ring and I said yes initially, because I thought my friend had tried seating it, but he hadn't. So I returned 2 days later with the toilet, told them it hadn't been seated on the wax and they still refused to take it. Also asked me if I had the box and when I told them "no" they restated that they can't take. The box it comes in is well-made of heavy cardboard and put together with heavy staples. It's made to keep the product safe during shipping. No one can't take that box apart and keep it intact for reassembly!! It wasn't meant to be disassembled and reassembled!! Using the box as a "no return" item tells me these two guys are a pair of "scheisters". Stay away from this place and take your business elsewhere!!! Anybody want a brand new $729 unused toilet that is worthless to me!! Thanks for nothing NLB&K!!

Kitchen remodelling is one of the most intricate and very detailed oriented task to tackle. It is…read morethe heart of the house. Being said and before you decide to do kitchen remodelling, make sure you have the time to work closely with your contractor! I worked closely with KF from the design to execution throughout the completion of the project. Let me share my experience with KF in details. Working with their sales rep was a smooth process. We worked with Dean through the selection of cabinets, floors, countertops, sink and faucet. Then here comes the selection of appliances. We shopped around and selected the appliances we will put in our kitchen and then gave the details to KF to incorporate it into the layout of the kitchen. A layout and a 3D model was made for review to visually see how the new layout of the kitchen will look like. This is where the critical part of the work needing your attention. Make sure to check the clearances provided for the appliances are all correct. The designer did not check the size of stove we will use. Mistake was made to our layout. We didn't catch the mistake as well and drawings got released for final approval. Then the execution, demolition to our kitchen took place as scheduled. 2 guys came in to remove all the old cabinets, countertops and appliances. It was a 3 day process to demolish and clear the debris. Prepare the walls for new construction. The electrical work. One electrician started to put new outlets and upgrade our electrical sub panel. This is where it got tricky because the new location of our panel is still part of the walk-in closet. The city inspector pointed out it is against the building code to relocate an electrical panel from a closet to a walk-in closet. The good thing was I was able to divide the walk-in closet into two rooms. I contructed a wall to divide this room into a storage where the new electrical panel is located and a separate walk-in closet. I did this work myself because it was not part of the contract. It will be an additional cost if I have KF do this work! The intallation of the cabinets! This is where we discovered the layout was incorrect. The clearance made for the stove is 36 inches, we ordered 30 inches stove. The location of the cabinet for the garbage was wrong too. KF ended up replacing 5 cabinets at their own expense to correct the layout. Make sure that during this process you check every position and clearances for your appliances are correct. This your final check before countertop measurement! The measurement of countertops and backsplash. A guy came in to make a template for the countertop and backsplash for fabrication. The process is to measure and install countertop first and then measure and install the backsplash. Make sure to check the level and squareness of the backsplash and countertop. I checked the backsplash and it was out of square. I have them corrected it on the spot! This is a very critical process and very expensive to correct if installed incorrectly. The installation of new flooring. I picked LVF to replace our carpet and hardwood. There is only one type of floor we use for the entire house. This went very smoothly and efficient. The worker even show up on Saturday to do the work. He knows how inconvenient for the owner is to move things around to clear the areas to install new flooring. Kudos to this worker who did our floor. The installation of appliances. It went smoothly except the anti tipping bracket of the stove was not properly place to capture one foot of the range. I went back and forth with the installer to correct it but I ended up correcting it myself to get approval from the city. The final touches. Ensure you are there and inspect every square inch of the cabinets and walls. You have to point out to the workers to put caulking on every holes you see. KF workers were not very thorough on their final touches. The final inspection. This is where the city will come in to inspect the electrical work, the wall I constructed, the undersink cabinets and do some testing on new circuits of the kitchen. Check and check their work. If you are not satisfied with their work. Make them correct it. This is your only time to tell them to correct things you are not satisfied. For example I have them replaced the valve of the faucet where one of the hoses has tight bend. Check fittings for leaks. This is very important! As I elaborated above, KF has the means to do the work. The coordination with their project manager was not very proactive. You need to make many follow ups to get the work done. Some days have no work activities. A couple of days they worked upto 8 in the evening! Overall I am happy with the result of their work but I also spent many hours to work with them. At the end of the day, it is you who will live in the house and it's your kitchen! When it comes to cost and the hours I spent working with them, the overall cost of this project was expensive.
