Following up on the superb kitchen cabinet remodel work that Next Level Custom Woodworking did for us a number of years ago, my wife and I recently commissioned them to reimagine our dated family room mantle and entertainment wall. The project scope included reengineering our old, stucco fireplace mantle and adding complementary wall paneling. The team also installed crown molding throughout our family room and kitchen spaces and new baseboard throughout our first floor. Using a single concept image that my wife and I had tucked away a while back, Brandon and his extremely talented carpentry specialist, Jesse, collaborated with us to adapt those design concepts to our family room and created a space with which we are extremely happy. We truly appreciated their frequent check-ins to align on design concept options for the finish work and their meticulous attention to detail throughout the project, which included the tireless efforts of painting specialist, Ted. We had long wanted this upgrade to our most frequently used space in our home and we are as happy with this project outcome as we were with the prior kitchen cabinet project. If you are looking for a creative and accomplished woodworking contractor to help bring your remodel visions to life, my wife and I strongly encourage you include Next Level Custom Woodworking in your bid list. We certainly will be using them again as we move to the next phase of our home remodel efforts in the coming months. read more

Found Brandon/Next Level just from searching online for custom carpentry near me. My wife and I had a drawing of custom cabinets that we wanted built and Brandon executed! Brandon was very easy to communicate with over the phone and by text and he came to the house multiple times to verify measurements before the actual install. He also had us over at his shop to confirm materials and paint/stain color. Fun to see the working space and tools! Did not get any competing quotes but based on the scope of this custom build and what I know about craftsmanship hourly rates I think the price was a good value. We will definitely be contacting Brandon for future projects! read more

Renovating oak cabinets from the late 80's to a white color have brighten my whole kitchen. It was a pleasure to work with Brandon and Jesse to update and reface with new cabinet fronts and drawers. Throughout the whole process, there was consistent and transparent communication. They were very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and paid attention to details. There were orderly clean-ups and on-time arrival daily. The whole project was completed in about three weeks. Had them paint the walls and ceiling too. I'm so pleased and thankful to recommend NEXT LEVEL to take you to your next level of renovating your kitchen. What a wonderful experience!!! read more

A very delayed review. Next Level did an amazing job on refinishing our 25 yr old oak cabinets. Their detailed process sanded, puttied, painting resulted in cabinets that feel like silk! Brandon has a great design eye, so recommended molding on island end caps. They designed woodwork molding to incase window. We were so impressed that we tore down our brick fireplace and they custom built a mantle and storage cabinets. Also a large cap molding to go over the slider woven woods. We couldn't stop there so they built a storage bench in our nook alcove. Brandon, Jesse and team are true craftsmen/artist absolutely recommend them. We just sold our home, but glad we were able to enjoy the beauty of our kitchen family room. After 6 yrs it still looks new and timeless and it was one of the best selling points in our home. We got top dollar in just 4 days!!!! read more

We hired Next Level to reface our kitchen cabinets (paint the cabinet boxes, make new doors and drawers, etc.). They did an absolutely phenomenal job. Each door is made by Next Level, not ordered from a catalog. They made a great suggestion to include a framed-out magnet board next to our fridge to act as "command central". They built up one of the cabinets to house our new range top. They also made 2 pull-out shelves for our pots. Brandon, Jesse and Ted are so personable and easy to work with, and they are true craftsmen. Exceptional attention to detail. We absolutely love our new kitchen. Highly recommended! read more

Our 17-year-old built-in refrigerator/freezer needed replacing and we were able to transfer the cabinet panels from old unit to the new one. Only one caveat - we had to have the upper grille panel cut horizontally by one inch to fit the new unit. I searched for local carpenters, cabinetmakers, etc., and called several, who either didn't do this type of work, or were not interested in a small job like this. One vendor referred me to Brandon of Next Level, and the Yelp reviews looked positive. Brandon invited us to his Livermore shop, which was very clean and well set up. Even though he had a major job he was preparing for, he took the time to carefully trim the panel and finish the cut edge. His price was quite reasonable. I was also impressed with the work he was doing preparing for the trim on a large new home. We will approach him when we have a larger remodeling job. read more

Brandon and Jesse are the best! We hired Next Level to reface the kitchen cabinets, make new drawer boxes, and install pullouts. Everything came out completely and totally awesome. Both Brandon and Jesse have the highest attention to detail in whatever they are working on. Communication was great all through the project. The guys cleaned up after each day's work and were incredibly nice to my 2 dogs and 2 cats! I would hire Brandon and crew again in a heartbeat. read more

Next Level Custom Woodworking - Pleasanton kitchen after cabinet refacing by Next Level. Gorgeous! - Carpenters Near Me

The mark of a good company is their CONSISTENT attention to detail, for jobs big and small. I didn't have a painting job, I didn't have a new kitchen... I had a cutting board. Simple as that. My old one was splintering to pieces. Brandon took the old one and made a new one, better than the first - I'm almost sad to start cutting on it again. Bravo! read more

This review is long over due! I worked with Brandon from Next Level Wood and am so happy with our results. We had a kitchen fire in our "new to us" home we just bought last year. Brandon was able to save the cabinetry and went above and beyond. I love Brandon because he is so similar to myself. He is a perfectionist, so many things were not to his standard of work on our old cabinets he was restoring so he put in tons of extra man hours to make them sturdy. He truly is the Picasso of woodworking! Price is worth the quality you get! He did an excellent job on the details, finished on time and was a pleasure to work with! read more

Brandon and his team at Next Level built us the home library of our dreams, which involved custom bookshelves, wainscoting, entry way design, and painting. We started with a few pictures of what we liked and Brandon was able to give great ideas and create a space far beyond what we envisioned it to be. We were impressed with their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Everything was done meticulously. Brandon was professional and easy to work with. We are so glad that we found Next Level Woodworking and trusted them with our home. We could not be happier with the end result! read more

Horrific experience. I started with Next Level to build a custom dining room table but they never delivered. Six months passed by before I pulled the project from Brandon. I did get the raw lumber and had someone else create a masterpiece. The problem is that I was ripped off. I paid a $3000 deposit for $1100 worth of wood. My contract was a handshake based on honesty. This is a dishonest individual. Get a written contract and only give a 10% deposit. The Next Level is a lower level than what you'd expect. Brandon's response is nothing less than expected but, most unfortunately, it is the complete and honest truth. Consumer beware. read more

Brandon and Jesse are amazing! We had a very unusual request - build a wall mounted cabinet...that also held a huge fish tank! The guys were great, they started with our simple drawing and added ideas to make it even better. In the end, we have something really special in our living room. The level of detail and perfectionism that they brought to the job was outstanding. Thanks again. read more

Brandon is an experienced and knowledgeable contractor/painter/wood-worker who understands that his role is to make each homeowner's vision for their home come to fruition. Brandon and Jesse are a delight to work with, offer wonderful ideas on how to improve upon your plans and work in a fastidious, perfectionist and clean manner. Next Level assisted with our kitchen remodel and from day one were communicative, both with me and with the other professionals working on the project, and facilitated the coordination of all facets of the job. Brandon has great vision and ideas and his standard response to any question is, "No problem, we can do anything you'd like us to do." It was Brandon's idea to change our center island from an uneven hexagon to a circular countertop...the effect is gorgeous and incredibly inviting. It was a wonderful experience working with Brandon, Jesse and their crew, probably the best contracting experience I've had thus far. I cannot recommend Next Level Woodworking more highly, you will be happy you called them!! read more

Brandon and his team did an outstanding job of refacing our kitchen cabinets. We had original cabinets that we refaced 20 years ago with oak fronts. It was hard to find someone who could reface again without showing the oak grain. Brandon's group replaced the doors and refaced the remaining cabinets to look prefect. Jesse and Ted did an amazing job. In addition we had some additional cabinet installation which came out great. Everything was done in a timely manner. If you are thinking of doing some refacing, I highly recommend Next Level!!! read more

I keep walking into my Next Level kitchen and just smiling at it; it's SO beautiful! It took a little longer than anticipated but the result is fantastic. Brandon designed a custom look for our yucky old space and Jesse's execution was meticulous. These are heart-centered guys who give their all. Whether it was the re-facing done on all the cabinets or the new construction needed to accommodate a larger oven, the brand new drawers Brandon built by hand or the helpful design suggestions -- all contributed to a first-class result at a price that didn't give us sticker shock. Our family and friends are amazed at the transformation -- and so are we! read more

Brandon, and his team are true artist. He delivered an amazing final product. Turned cheap maple colored cabinets throughout my entire house ( kitchen an 4 bathrooms) to antique glazed furniture. Everyone that comes to our house is blown away with the quality. His price is competitive, he is highly networked with skilled contracting professionals, an is an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend hiring him read more

If you can see what I see in my kitchen, you would be a 49er type fan of Brandon and his crew (Jesse, Paul, & Cornilio). A few weeks ago my wife and I were staring at some very sorry looking oak cabinets (25 years of use and builder grade materials will do that ). Now that we are semi-retired, we had even more time to stare at the yellowing wood. It was time to do something. I am pleased to be able to say that my wife's often repeated "I hate the look of these cabinets" has now been replaced by "My kitchen looks like a showroom". Brandon's down home friendliness is matched by his woodworking expertise. He also proved to be an invaluable "interior design consultant" in helping us choose both the right color for the cabinets along with complementary pull and knob hardware to match our granite, wall colors, and appliances. Aside from the final result, I am still in awe of the workmanship and the techniques that were utilized. The cuts of the 1/4" wood used as facing were surreal in their accuracy. The 'prep' for each of 5 coats of paint was almost surgical as the guys used halogen lamps to inspect every inch of the cabinet surface for blemishes. The painting was performed with the room tented, a high volume low pressure air gun (minimize overspray)' and the creation of negative pressure to the outdoors to create an impeccably even coating. The doors are made of solid maple and were hung with the most advanced hinges (three way adjustments and soft close technology ... we no longer can hear the banging of cabinets when someone is raiding the pantry at night). I can attest that the pictures of the Next Level "products" on the web site are accurate and not photoshopped. I have my own pictures to prove it. Nice to be so proud of a kitchen that you want to send everyone pictures. read more

Recently had are kitchen refaced with Next Level. Brandon and Jesse did a fantastic job!! As you can see from the pictures we had 1980's Oak cabinets. Brandon and Jesse transformed our outdated kitchen cabinets into a showroom by replaceing all our draws and doors and painting it off white. Both Brandon and Jesse do amazing wood work, so we added several custom details. They added molding around the front of our bar area which gave it a grand appearance. They ripped out our kitchen desk and rebuilt it from scratch, then added a beautiful custom walnut top. They extended the cabinets around the refrigerator to give it a built-in look. They installed glass inserts on some of the cabinet doors. They rebuild new shelves in our upper cabinets and installed sliding shelves in our pantry. Brandon and Jesse are very professional and worked very hard to stay on schedule. The paint work is outstanding; they used professional paint and sprayed each area multiple times to which resulted in a smooth hard finish. A kitchen remodel can be very overwhelming with all the decision that have to be made. Due to their vast experience, they would offer options and ideas to help with those decisions. Brandon and Jesse are true craftsmen and perfectionist which is evidenced in the finished product. We would highly recommend them for both small and large jobs, and personally look forward to working with them again on future remodel projects. read more

I would without a doubt recommend Brandon and Next Level. Working with him was a positive experience from start to finish. The scope of the work in my house included the painting of cabinets,`painting of walls, installation of baseboards throughout my house, and several wood trimming projects. And wood trimming projects, is really an understatement, he transformed a drab and boring drywalled island into a gorgeous work of art, with great detailed moldings. I also had a very large entry way trimmed and that is also a gorgeous statement in the room. He and his crew are true craftsmen and perfectionist which is evidenced in the finished product. Brandon really was a great resource-not only did he understand what I wanted the finished product to look like, but guided my choices of cabinet color , design of the island, and corbel selection. He also was able to work within my budget without sacrificing the design or quality. I know that we will be using him again in the future, I look forward to seeing the other improvements he will make to my home. read more

I purchased two large dressers at a local consignment store with the idea of painting them myself in a high gloss white finish. It didn't take long after I started that my vision wasn't going to work due to the labor and my lack of expertise. I looked on 'Yelp" to find someone in my area who could bring my vision to life. After reading the review about 'next level" woodworking I called and spoke to Brandon who came to my house to look over the dressers. I told him what I wanted and he immediately knew what they needed . I was nervous that he could make them look like the designer vision I had in my head. He delivered them when he said and I was so happy when I saw them. I was so impressed with Brandon's skill and that he was able to repair the damaged dressers into furniture that I am very proud of. He also helped me with selecting hardware that would be appropriate to enhance the look. He gave me a very fair price and I am going to call him again soon for my next project.
