We had Roberto replace all of our door trim after it got damaged from our previous flooring project. His communication and responsiveness is excellent. He takes the time to explain the details so we can make the best decision for our home and to ensure there is no confusion. We are also very particular about our home and he listened to any feedback we had and adjusted to ensure we were comfortable, as this was our first project with him. He was prompt and on time every day, and he ensured he left our house clean before leaving for the day. Roberto genuinely cares and wants to give his clients the best result possible. We had a small leak in our laundry room that damaged a baseboard (unrelated to the project we were doing with him), but he took the time to look at it and provide his feedback on what we can do once we fix the leak so we don't have to remove the entire baseboard. I would highly recommend Roberto and we will definitely call him again for our next project. read more

I requested a quote through Yelp and Roberto responded quickly. I sent photos of the wainscoting I wanted in my front entry and closet shelves. Roberto visited with samples and we agreed on pricing and material. He was able to incorporate some wood and paint I had on hand. He and his team worked carefully. He accommodated non- flat walls, patched holes seamlessly, and painted expertly. I'm super happy how everything turned out. I hope work with Roberto and team again! read more

I cannot recommend Roberto and the team at AQ Finish Carpenter enough. I've attached several before and after photos, but honestly, it looks even better in person. As a person, Roberto is a very friendly guy and a great communicator who made sure to text and/or call me regularly with updates. He was highly communicative the whole project, which I personally prefer, and it went to show how much he wanted to ensure things are done right and to my expectations. This was evident even during the initial onsite inspection, where he patiently spent a full hour with me onsite walking through the details. He was very open and transparent about what he can do, what solutions he offered, what materials are optimal, and what I could expect. It was always very clear what I needed to provide and at what schedule. His quote was very fair, and while I initially thought of using separate contractors, I gave him the bid to manage the whole project. His price was competitive for managing the schedule and the back and forth needed to ensure the work was done at the right cadence. The work schedule was managed tight and completed exactly to our quoted timeline. All of the folks he brought onsite were experienced, organized, and friendly, with different teams scheduled to exchange work days much better than if I had tried to manage the sequence myself. It's clear that Roberto takes great pride in his work from his attention to detail and wanting to do things the right way. Over our ~2-week project, he went above and beyond to make minor repairs and fixes to ensure the end result was stunning. During work, everything was covered neatly and taped neatly. As you can see from the before photos, the house was a bit run down. The oil-finished floors needed both a refinishing and spot repairs of gaps, holes, and water damage, and the final refinish was perfect. The original ceilings had a rolled-on, inconsistent texture with cracks, and Roberto communicated the effort needed to make them smooth. The cost was fair and the ceiling is now essentially perfect. As the house is from the 1920s, some walls still have the original plaster and old world texture which I decided to keep, while rooms with wallpaper were removed, sealed, primed, repaired, and painted. The end result looks fantastic, and as mentioned he went above and beyond doing patching and wall sanding to make it extra perfect, which was greatly appreciated. The trim work was also incredible: all baseboards were installed with care and with sharp corner work, and he flawlessly repaired the crown moulding in the kitchen and office. Overall, I was incredibly impressed. Roberto is a super nice guy who cares to do great work, and he is the first person I'll call for future work on my home. read more

Hands down the best experience I've had with a contractor. Our 1950's house needed new interior doors to replace the original ones, including sliding closet doors. Roberto is salt of the earth, a good man who is a master at his craft. He was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and from there he was incredibly responsive, informative, professional, and trust worthy. I enjoyed working with Roberto so very much and the work he did in our house was transformational. I couldn't be happier with our new doors and baseboards. Craftsmanship was top tier. No cutting corners, in fact, went the extra mile to do things RIGHT. Which I find is quite rare. I am trying to think of more projects so I can work with Roberto again. read more

Me and my wife bought our first house that needed a lot of work to make it move in ready. So we were looking for someone to get the job done professionally on a budget and a specific timeline. I happen to be at one of my good client's house and see Roberto and his team doing work at his house, so I ask him for his number. I contacted Roberto and had him come check our new house out and give us a price. He came and from the first 10 minutes me and my wife knew that he's going to be the one to get the job done properly. His pricing was very good and timeline was perfect. So we hired him and Roberto didn't let us down!! They just finished the job: -New luxury vinyl flooring. -New doors (the old ones where hollow and ugly) -New baseboards and trims. -A full interior paint job. The house looks stellar now and their work is flawless!! Him and his team were super talented and respectful, we're so happy we came across them and I would completely trust Roberto to get any job done the RIGHT way! He exceeded our expectations and Roberto is such a good guy. Don't hesitate to hire him. read more

For years, I have been searching for a finish carpenter who could support our home projects with attention to detail while delivering a fairly priced high-quality end product in a timely manner. I designed and ordered components for living room built-ins online, but once they arrived, my usual contractor said he wouldn't be able to support the job anymore. I'm so thankful I found Roberto to support the project instead. He was incredibly responsive, quick to start and finish, and checked in extensively along the way to ensure my vision and preferences were taken into account. This was not an easy project, but he and his team made the best of all the challenges we met. At one point we realized the wrong replacement cabinet had been shipped to me. A new one was going to take 2-3 weeks!! Instead of pushing off the job to a later date he suggested solutions and retrofitted the replacement cabinet flawlessly to ensure we could finish the job the same week he started. He started Monday and finished Wednesday ahead of his original projection of Friday!! He arrived on time every morning and was very thoughtful about preparing for the next day ahead of time so that he could optimize his time onsite. He has a wealth of experience he brings to his work and he truly does it with care, forethought, integrity, style, and intelligence. All that aside, he also happens to be a kind, compassionate human who is a pleasure to work with! I'm very much looking forward to working with him again soon on other home projects! thank you Roberto and team! read more

Roberto and his team are incredible! I called Roberto for a quote to have my mantle replaced and he came out right away to provide an estimate. We ended up doing a walk through of my house and I showed him everything I wanted done. His level of patience and professionalism is phenomenal. Fast forward, I decided to start with having 9 of my interior doors replaced instead. Roberto had the doors delivered directly to my house within a few days and immediately began the work on Monday. I was nervous as it was a bigger project than I initially thought but Roberto put me at complete ease. Not only did he do an outstanding job, but he also showed up every day on time and cleaned up before he left for the evening. I would highly recommend Roberto and his team. They worked on interior cracks on walls and ceiling. They patched the cracks, applied texture and painted our interior walls and ceiling. Roberto responded immediately to my request to finish all of the work to install my horizontal railings, patch the stucco, replace the trim, and finish the install and painting of my baseboards. He did all of this on the Saturday, Monday and Tuesday after I called him, on a fixed price. He accommodated all of my needs for quiet time, since I work from home. I am grateful that he made himself available so quickly and that he provided high quality craftsmanship. I will be calling him again. Roberto was the 5th contractor I asked, and none of the other contractors felt confident they could install the horizontal bars without damaging the posts, which was very frustrating. But Roberto took the time to do the research and it paid off. Thank you! Your work is much appreciated. read more

Roberto did a fantastic job with our crown molding installation. We scheduled a walkthrough and he arrived on time with a face mask. Roberto gave us an estimate and even offered to install our pantry door at a discounted rate. We agreed on a price and set a date. Him and one of his team members were able to get everything done in two days: molding for our entryway, living room and hallways. This also included any touch ups to our paint; which was the reason why he wanted to make sure we had extra paint for our walls. In the end, he only needed to touch up a few spots. They also were able to come up with a very nice way to cover an archway in our home. They arrived early each day, wore masks the entire time, and were incredibly professional.
