If you are looking for fine woodworking (accent walls, board and batten, baseboards or crown moulding), paint, doors, floors, wall movement, drywall, Eddie is your guy. We had him bid on a new build in Saratoga as we wanted to add accent walls throughout the home. He quoted and completed 3 bedroom Accent walls and a stair case wall. I interviewed 5 contractors and only two could provide all of the materials and services that I wanted. Eddie came in 30% lower than the competition and costs did not increase throughout the project. Eddie factors in all materials so there are no surprises. His work and attention to detail is outstanding, true professional. He also pays attention to cleanliness and clean up at the end of each day. His reviews on Yelp are stellar for these reasons, just make sure you give him room to do his work (get rid of your unwanted stuff before he comes out for an estimate.) read more

Eddie and his team did an excellent job on their project in San Mateo. The quality of their work was outstanding, and everything was completed professionally and smoothly. Highly recommend! read more

Our project required making multiple updates and repairs due to damage caused by our previous tenant. This included: - Interior painting throughout the unit - Updating the bathroom vanities, countertops, flooring, and shower fixtures - Updating the kitchen countertops with Quartz - Installing all new blinds throughout - 20+ small repairs ranging from repairing closet doors, window locks, window screens, etc. Posted the project on Yelp and due to Eddie's persistence and follow-up, decided to consider EHR as one of two possible contractors for the entire project. Eddie's pricing was extremely reasonable so I decided to move forward with EHR for the project. For the tasks that were not in his wheelhouse (e.g. cutting/replacing kitchen countertops), Eddie had fantastic service partners who were reliable and high quality. For tasks where I sourced the material from another vendor, Eddie was exceedingly patient with dealing with shortcomings of those vendors and to fill in quality/functional gaps. For example, I purchased my bathroom vanities and countertops from a small cabinet shop. The cabinet did not fit well with our existing plumbing and the quality of their countertops wasn't good. While this required more time and effort on Eddie's part, he came up with creative solutions to get the cabinets to work in our unit and to get the countertops to fit. We had numerous issues trying to retrofit new shower fixtures into our 20+ year old condo, where (not surprisingly) we ran into compatibility issues. Eddie did not give up and went to the store to try figure out ways to get the parts to work. When some of our cleaners damaged some of the places, his team had painted, Eddie went back in and repaired/repainted without complaint. These are just examples of why we are very satisfied with Eddie's services. He is very professional and extremely communicative, responding clearly and in a timely manner whenever I needed to reach him. While the project did take a bit longer than expected, some of that was due to Eddie spending the extra time needed to problem solve instead of just rushing and implementing a quick solution. I would definitely recommend Eddie to others who are looking for someone who is honest, hardworking, patient, responsive and caring. I will also definitely be contacting Eddie for all my future handyman needs! read more

We had 3 closets installed by Eddie and he did a great job. One is a walkin closet for which Eddie had to demo existing closets, replace carpet with vynyl flooring, Install our custom designed ikea pax closet system and then do moulding and trim to hide any gaps. Overall we really loved how the entire room turned out. Eddie was able to get us the premium look we wanted at half the cost compared to other bay area custom closet solutions. We did 2 other reach in closets in our office and 2nd bedroom. Both were container store Elfa closet systems and Eddie was able to demo and install the new systems pretty fast. This was our second project with Eddie and we would definitely hire him again for other projects. read more

I recently hired Eddie again to paint/touch up our rental home, paint the front fence, and paint a light post in the front yard. As usual, he went above and beyond. He and his team did an excellent job painting the home and fence. Unlike other painters, they spend a lot of time prepping so that everything is covered and taped. So you never see mistakes, sloppy lines, or splatter. They are very neat and clean, and always do detailed job. Although I had not requested it, they ended up spending extra time taking the lamp post apart, just to make sure it was as clean as possible & painted very precisely. I offered to pay them extra, but Eddie refused. He always charges a fair price and takes pride in his work. Very trustworthy. read more

Eddie and his team get high marks for their work. They did laminate flooring and painting at my house. Eddie was efficient in communication and had creative ideas to solve some challenges we faced along the way. I liked that I could purchase the materials and Eddie provided his time and talents. It helped that Eddie has experience with other house projects (drywall, painting and other remodeling) coz my project needed to consider how other jobs fit in. For example, we were building closets too so one of Eddie's recommendations was to wait till closets done to finish the base boards instead of cutting the baseboards to fit in closets. I also liked how organized they were. I'll include a picture of how they leave their tools at the end of the work day- this should explain their work ethic. Now, no installer is without qualms. Although I built in extra time for this project and in the end wasn't bothered but I wish Eddie completed it on time. All in all Eddie is a great guy to talk to and hire for laminate flooring, painting and other projects. read more

I am so pleased with how the barn door came together. Eddie is so patient with the work and he takes the time to get the details correct. He is super creative to get over all the technical challenges occurs during the installation. The door finished beautifully, exactly what I expected. I can't imagine how difficult it is to get a barn door with un-standard size opening spaces. I have been trying to find a carpenter who's willing to make and install the barn door since August. For 2 entire months I went through a number of contractors they either redirect me to a different door style or over priced. Eddie recommend the interior door replacement company that he recently work with. That company was able to deliver the door to me in just one week. Home Depot normally take up to 1 months. Eddie helped me to pickup the door, paint and install it. He explained to me every step so I understand the process. I made a suggestion in the middle of the work and Eddie immediately address it. The labor cost is at a great value based on what he has provided. Nowadays it's difficult to get someone who tries to do everything right, but Eddie is the guy. Highly recommended. read more

I highly recommend Eddie HR for any crown moulding or door casing work you need. Eddie recently installed crown moulding throughout our first floor home, the stair way and upstairs hallway. His work quality was so high, we hired Eddie to install door and window casing and trim on room entrances, and the results have exceeded my expectations. Eddie brings a very high level of craftsmanship, and attention to detail to our project. It took Eddie multiple times to find the correct paint to match our wall paint with new crown moulding and window/door/room entrancecasing but he finally did and the whole project looks beautiful. Eddie and his team did a great job on a project to repaint our home's interior and to add trim (window trim, baseboard, crown molding) throughout our entire home. He was extremely detail-oriented and accommodating as our initial request expanded in scope. To give some context, we originally asked him to add trim and molding in the common areas of our home, but this quickly expanded to molding for the whole home, painting all our interior rooms (including removing old wallpaper from one of the rooms), and clearing the shelving from our closets so we could install a new system. Eddie was patient with us as we figured out what we wanted, and provided us with guidance and photos based on what he has helped other clients with. Since we had such a good experience with Eddie the first time, we invited him back to help us complete more projects. This time, he helped us to replace old carpet with hardwood flooring, patch and repaint walls that had been damaged by wood paneling, paint our fireplace, and re-paint our kitchen cabinets. Again, Eddie did a great job and ultimately helped us to achieve the vision we had for our interior aesthetics. We are both perfectionists, and Eddie met our high standards. We were very satisfied with the quality of work and craftsmanship. He was tidy even while the jobs were in progress; you can tell that he respects his client's spaces. Eddie has strong communication and is generally a great guy. Besides completing the job, he went above and beyond to help us even on things we didn't ask for. For example, he asked a gardener to come by and help clean up our front yard for us because it was getting a bit overgrown (oops). Finally, Eddie's prices are very fair. We did our research and got several quotes, and Eddie's services were great value. The only suggestion we have is to leave time for the work to get done. Because Eddie handles many of the details himself and is detail-oriented, the projects sometimes take longer than initially anticipated (though this is the case for many contractors). We would not hesitate to use Eddie's services again and would recommend him to our friends and family. read more

I hate writing negative reviews. It pisses me off to write them. But this bad thing just happened today. So I'm attaching images FYR. Wanted to share my experience here. Lesson learned: 1) Paying a contractor upfront can be a bad idea. 2) Request itemized quote before hiring a contractor. 3 things are very clear: 1) we already paid $10730.84 fully for unfinished works. We already paid 100%, Mr. Eddie didn't deliver 100% 2) Just happened recently, Mr. Eddie sent me the invoices for asking for $8200 without proving me any quote/estimate in advance. Even several weeks a ago, I asked him about the trim painting cost. He simply said he needed to see it-- all doors and trims were installed by Eddie. How come he didn't see those items?! If I knew it costs so much, I wouldn't hire him. Red flag- didn't provide quote/ estimate before starting the work. 3) This morning he came to my home, yelled at me and my husband, and threatened me. I had to ask my neighbor and called 911 for help. We already reported this to the police. He is not allowed to enter my home. read more

I hired EHR for interior paint and a big carpentry project (board & batten wood molding on very large and tall interior walls). He was on time or early for our initial consultations and even took the time to meet us at the molding store to explain our different material options, help us place orders etc. We had never done a project like this so him doing this for us helped a lot. Eddie explains everything in a lot of detail so we quickly realized he knows what hes talking about. Once the work got started, the same process continued. Eddie worked everyday and would explain options and confirm our choices with us each day. I was very indecisive with the 50 different white paint colors i was looking at and he even helped consult there and remained super patient throughout the entire process. There were some challenges with our project--the biggest of which was the height of our ceilings. Eddie built his own scaffolding in order to get the job done. This involved drilling new holes into the wall --but once it was taken down, everything looks as good as new. I was adding on some things as we went along and Eddie's response was always positive. I had a couple holes in my ceiling from a electrical project and Eddie patched it up perfectly--it was super impressive. As far as workmanship, we couldnt be happier with the end result. Eddie takes pride in his work and it shows. Board & batten molding done right takes a lot of attention to detail. Everything from the prep work, to the finishing, painting etc was taken very seriously and completely professionally. Project timeline was longer than expected but I know this was because Eddie wanted to make sure the work was done to his high standards. (And I like nice finishes and abhor sloppy work--not a issue with Eddie.) Pricing was more than fair considering how perfect the finishes were and the time to it took to do that. EHR isnt a huge company--its Eddie and a couple of staff to help him as needed. He was always polite, respectful and communicated effectively. I would hire EHR again and highly recommend. read more

I had Eddie and his EHR crew install almost 500 feet of crown moulding in our home. The total time it took him was about 10 business days. I was overly satisfied with the work that he performed that I promised him a yelp review, which I normally do not do unless I am extremely satisfied or deeply saddened by a business. And of course, in this case, I am very pleased with the work. There are several great things about his crown molding work that I will point out. First and foremost, the crown molding work is EXCELLENT. If you notice the workmanship of the trim, it is smooth and it shines. Everything about the ceiling trim was done correctly with a high level of detail. The radius corners fit perfectly. There are no gaps between the walls and adjacent pieces. He was able to make it all look like one piece. All the caulking and nail holes are properly caulked, sealed and sanded. Eddie was also able to a minor adjustment of moving our ceiling airvent so that it would not interfere with the crown molding. Otherwise, he would have had to cut into the crown molding, which would not have looked clean. The kicker of the project though was the excellent job he did on the hallway door trim. (Please see attached pictures). I gave him a picture of what I wanted for the trim and he was able to replicate it exactly, again with a high level of detail. He was able to design, cut and assemble the door trim to exact measurements. He was also able to blend it correctly with our wood flooring and baseboards. I am extremely pleased with the workmanship involved in the door trim. I have received so complements since it highlights our hallway so well. The only issue i have are not necessarily his fault, but more of an issue with the situation. In order to receive excellent results for the crown molding, he used a sprayer so that he could achieve even results. Due to the white paint over-spray, we had to repaint a portion of the wall but this required us (the homeowner) to have an exact paint match of our walls. Sadly after driving ALL around San Jose, going to multiple places, we were unable to correctly match the paint.....thus, we had to repaint all the walls. Eddie was apologetic about the situation, but we all realized there was nothing we could do at that point. He even offered me extremely discounted pricing to repaint all the walls to make it right. Anyway in retrospect, at least we now have a matching paint for the all the walls and rooms, for when, not if, we use him again. So final thoughts? Would I hire him again? YES! Without hesitation. His belief in providing honest, affordable workmanship is unparalleled. Eddie's Can-Do attitude is definitely refreshing. I literally called over 7-8 contractors, and they were WAY overpriced or too snobby to do "small" jobs. EHR was able to meet my needs without any attitudes and was open and honest about the progress of the project. AND FINALLY, His prices are EXTREMELY competitive, especially for the level of detail involved. read more

We ran into a couple problems along the way with some of the trim we had selected (the baseboards were too tall to fit beneath the closet doors) but Eddie worked with us to design a solution that looks great, and allowed the baseboard to continue below the closet.
