We used Elephant Floors in 2020 - Recently started working on a new project, went to look them up to use again. Realized we never left a review! They did a phenomenal job. Floors were pre-finished bamboo installed by the previous owner - badly. They had nail holes, gaps, etc.. Thankfully, they were solid wood. The Elephant Floors team was able to sand them and fill the holes and gaps, and they looked awesome after refinishing! They also replaced all the trim afterwards with white painted pine (per request.) Completely happy - price was competitive, quality great. Will totally use them again in the future! read more

We are very happy with the work that Elephant Floors did in our home. We had an older engineered wood floor that was damaged in several areas, and we decided to replace it. It took us some time to choose a new floor--we made multiple trips to the showroom and brought home at least a dozen samples. When our initial selection was delivered, the color did not match the sample. Elephant Floors handled this without any issues and picked it up at no cost to us. After that, we decided to order a full sample box to be certain before moving forward. Once we finalized our choice, the new Mohawk engineered flooring (about 1,000 square feet) was delivered, and the work began on schedule with demolition of the old floors. There was a lot of dust (as expected), but the installers moved all of our furniture to one area of the house and set up plastic barriers to protect it. They continued to move furniture as the work progressed, which we appreciated since this was the most disruptive part of the project. The entire demolition and installation process took 8 days, and the installation itself went very smoothly. Eric, who was in charge of demolition and installation, did an excellent job. He communicated clearly throughout the process and was very accommodating to our requests. We also had a great experience working with Artur. There were no issues with the contract, materials, or execution. At the end of the project, everything was cleaned up, and all furniture and appliances were returned to their proper places. CAUTION: New management is refusing to honor documented refunds. In June 2025, I placed a flooring order with Elephant Floors (Sunnyvale) and completed payment in December 2025. In January 2026, the owner, Daniil Grigin, admitted the original order was never placed with the manufacturer. Due to construction deadlines, I was forced to accept a substitute product. Upon delivery in early 2026, the staircase nosings were the incorrect color. Daniil Grigin confirmed in writing that the company would retrieve the incorrect items and issue a refund. Since this written agreement, the business has reportedly changed hands. The new management is refusing to honor this documented refund despite operating under the same brand name and location. I am currently filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), and the State Attorney General to recover about $2500. I will also be pursuing this in Small Claims Court against both the previous owner and the current entity. Prospective customers: Be extremely careful. The old tile flooring in my kitchen was more than showing its age of over 15+ years, several cracks and areas that were breaking. They gave us a clear estimate originally, but didn't include materials. They had a show room though so we dropped by and they helped guide us to what I was looking for: A clean of luxury pvc flooring look that wouldn't be be confused with the hardwood that was in most the house. Elephant Floors helped my husband and I select new LVP for our kitchen and it was installed on February 18. Elephant Floors did an amazing job on my home. It took me about 4 months from first having my floors measured and getting an initial quote to the job being completed. They were patient as I got other quotes, decided which flooring I wanted, and worked through my finances. Their pricing is very fair compared to the big chain stores, and they provided me with a quote that was worst case scenario so that there were no surprises if there were issues with my subfloor (which there weren't, so my final invoice was actually less than quoted). They also did the demo work, removing tile, and were prepared to repair the subfloor where necessary whereas the larger chain stores require you to get a contractor to come in and do that. Daniil is a true professional, honest and extremely knowledgable. He answered every question I had and I never felt rushed to make a decision. He came out and measured everything and provided me clear estimates of the work to be done. He never tried to upsell me on anything I didn't need but did offer small ideas on how to upgrade the work without breaking the bank. For example, he said contrasting the stairs with white bases would give them a much more modern and luxury feel, and I definitely agree they came out quiet nice for just a small increase in cost. The carpet was ruined by the previous renter, but Daniil and his team replaced it with great LVP flooring solution from Gaia. The before and after was a huge improvement and the work was done quickly in less than a week. I'm writing this because I checked Yelp reviews to select Elephant Floors as a company to do business with. This was my experience. I traveled to the store from SF because I found good reviews on Yelp. On our first visit we spent an hour looking at carpet samples to find a particular color needed to replace the existing carpet that had aged. We left with the assurance that we would receive follow up, and samples from the company. A week later, no samples, no email, text or call. Contacting them myself, I was told they lost the written list I left of sample colors they had promised to send. We agreed on a new smaller sample selection to send, and I again waited. No samples came. Ten days later, No calls, no texts no emails. I texted to get tracking numbers so I could follow up. I was texted track numbers that were wrong. I texted again, and now was told that they were sent to our home address instead of our shipping address. I corrected the address. I waited no response, I called and spoke to an associate who promised to get back to me. No one has called. I texted again. No response. I now feel lucky NOT BUYING From Elephant Floors! Judging by how awful their customer service is when you are trying to BUY from them I hate to think how they would be if something happened to the carpet or installation. Elephant floors completely refinished my first floor oak floors. They replaced about 500 sq ft of 1929 era wood flooring and refinished my 1992 flooring creating a single beautiful consistent flooring throughout. They did all this work while I was on vacation, provided me with photos and updates. Pancho did a terrific job as foreman of the crew and project manager Daniil was totally responsive to all aspects of the project. I chose Elephant floors after 3 bids because they seemed most responsive and responsible in the bidding process. Prices were not that different in 3 bids. They were this ugly bright red color and he came in with amazing suggestions and even created a sample of multiple stains for me of what my floor would look like. This is an overdue review for Elephant Floors. My flooring was done by Daniil more than a year ago (before the pandemic for sure). I talked to different flooring companies and presented the challenges I had with my flooring project. I went with Daniil because he explained his solutions well, was very detailed and was patience in answering all my questions. His troubleshooting skills was the best among those I interviewed. He communicates well and clearly address all the concerns I had. There was also no surprises in the cost. He spelled out what's included, what's not and how much more it would be for additional scope of work. After the project started, we found termite in the subfloor and I had to get a termite company to get rid of all the termite. Daniil was patience and willing to pause my project until the termite issue was taken care of (that took another month or two). It wasn't that hard to get back to his schedule to finish the rest of the project. All in all, I'll definitely hire him again for any future flooring project. He's easy to work with, communicates well and most importantly, troubleshoot, come up with good solution and able to fix any unexpected issues that may come up in any remodeling project. read more

I see they have a showroom now which is excellent. They pulled out all my damaged and gross carpet throughout half of my home ~ 900sq feet. had to pull out and reinstall all the baseboards and install the flooring I got a deal on. They did an excellent job and the installers were great to work with moving my furniture around. They even suggested changing out my vent covers to wood ones stained to match and I'm so glad they did. really took it all up a notch. The also seamlessly joined the wood with existing tile work perfectly. I'm so happy with the flooring. I wanted to wait to do the review to see how they wore, the installation is perfect. it's been two years since they installed and they look brand-new and no movement.
