The service by Mary was excellent. Very knowledgeable. We ordered porcelain bathroom tile, but will return to order carpet. They have a large showroom with side parking. The price is so much less than we paid at another store. I called the other store and cancelled that order, plus a restocking fee of 30% and still have more than enough to pay what The Floor store charged. Plus, it's exactly what we wanted. read more

Diana was very friendly and helpful when I called to ask about flooring in mid Sept 2025. When the flooring I wanted to see in her showroom wasn't available, Diana offered to order samples for me, and said they would arrive within 1-2 weeks. I emailed her links to the flooring and my home address. After 2 weeks, I hadn't received any samples, so I called her, and she said she would email me. It's now more than 4 weeks, and I still haven't gotten an email from Diana and I have not received any flooring samples. Unfortunately my experience with Diana at Floor Store Sunnyvale was extremely unprofessional. If she wasn't able to order samples for me, she just needed to let me know and not leave me hanging. Had LVP put in several years ago in my downstairs area and noticed pulling up in our kitchen area, which had a slab under flooring. A small leak from our refrigerator added to the problem which allowed water under the flooring. Contacted the Floor Stoor and their installer came out to tell me that, essentially, it was my fault and they couldn't help. I pointed out that the pulling up extended to areas where there was NO water leak but I was just told that water "extends." The Floor Store simply offered to sell me more flooring (my original LVP was already out of production!) They suggested tile but that was what I had pulled up! They decided to hang their hat on a small water leak, blame me, and do nothing. I had an independent leak inspection done in my kitchen and nothing was found amiss. I then contacted an independent, local, ACTUAL professional installer and he immediately came out and inspected the floor, telling me that the slab floor in the kitchen was incorrectly prepped upon removal of the original tile for the LVP and that caused the LVP to not seal properly, allowing water to seep in. A little extra time is needed to prep the floor but it should absolutley be done. I will be getting a new, properly prepped floor next week, at my own expense of course. At the time the Floor Store was installing the kitchen LVP, one of the installers remarked to my son that they wanted to finish the floor quickly so as to be done by the end of the day. I never asked for that and would have preferred a properly completed floor. The Floor Store did not act in a professional, trustworthy or honorable manner and I cannot recommend this business. Do your research and go elsewhere. UPDATE: The floor was pulled up today and I now have definitve proof that little to no prep work was done to even out the floor. There were uneven areas that needed to be smoothed and leveled. This was not done at all. I have taken pictures and am considering filing an insurance claim. The only reason water got into the flooring was because no evening of the floor was done which resulted in the LVP not sitting level and sealing properly. I am beyond disappointed and pissed at being led to believe the entire problem was my fault and that I somehow allowed water to get beneath the planks. It should never have happened in the first place. Spend less on your commercials, Floor Store, and more on hiring installers that actually know what they are doing. read more

Deciding to put in a new wood floor was a big decision. It took us over a year to wrestle with the questions about what's the right color? what's the right wood? will the installer be good? will it all be worth it? We finally decided on the Floor Store because of Diana and the most important answers to all the questions is that it was easy and it looks amazing! Diana was outstanding in working with and guiding us thru all the choices we had to make not just on the wood, baseboard, steps...but in dealing with the inevitable surprises found when the old floor was pulled up. We are doing remodeling and needed to replace our carpet. The Floor Store had the closest match to our existing carpet. It was a much better match than the samples we saw at Home Depot and local carpet stores. After visiting one of the locations and getting a cost +\~ $1000, I have a tech come out and measure my home. 5 days later I was told by the sales person he forgot to include the cost of the flooring. Just received my LVP from the Floor Store, Sunnyvale, after ordering it yesterday. The very nice delivery man, Tito, even carried the 40 boxes into my garage. I had been to both "big box" building supply stores (and studied LVP online) and still couldn't figure out what I needed for my 1000 sq ft water damaged basement. After 2 weeks, I was really frustrated about the lack of progress in my search. I saw an ad for the Floor Store and thought, "why didn't I think of that before now..." The floor looks great! However, as I discovered afterwards, Vinyl plank flooring underlayment is a crucial component for a high-quality and long-lasting vinyl flooring installation. It should have been included in the contract and not added as a surprise when the old cork floor was removed. While the contract states that unforeseen conditions will be extra, I argued that should not have been the case with this flooring. The cost of labor and 1/4" plywood underlayment for an area of 156 square feet was negotiated from $1650 to $850; Diana deducted the cost of labor. I received a "transaction receipt" when the work was completed, so I had to request a detailed invoice. I was charged for two items that were not used and I had to request reimbursement totaling $370. My mistake was to not get other bids for this job. read more

Unfortunately, my wife and I overpaid a lot for floorboards from The Floor Store. They rebrand other manufacturers' products as their own "The Floor Store collections", which made it difficult for us to do a proper price comparison. We ended up paying $18.99/sqft for one of these rebranded products, which upon delivery turned out to be a Monarch Plank product that we found for $9.19/sqft at another local retailer. We basically paid double the price we needed. (Fortunately we only needed a small quantity for a repair job.) I acknowledge that it was ultimately our own decision to make the purchase. Caveat emptor. Still, I really wish they were more transparent about the manufacturer and model of their rebranded products, so that we can make a fully informed decision. Although we had a good experience in their showroom and with their phone/email communications, the huge pricing discrepancy left us with a disappointingly sour taste in the end. read more

We are currently doing a full house remodel. We purchased LVP flooring a looong time ago but because of all the delay in construction it took over a year since purchase to actually pick it up. The only issue was that week we wanted to pick it up, it was transferred to the warehouse in Pittsburg. Luckily Diana expedited it back to Sunnyvale and we were able to receive it only a couple days later. Then we were short quite a bit and Diana was able to get some more for us in a timely manner.
