Alex, Naza (sorry, I am sure I misspelled his name), Joseph, and Jose did a good job. Joseph was the one of the hardest and also most positive workers I have ever met. I am in the process of selling my condo and need my place in tip top shape for open house/listing photos etc. I had some minor floor damage that I wanted to address and I needed it fixed FAST. He arrived exactly on time for his appointment. He talked through my options, gave me advice, and patiently answered all my questions. Art and his team arrived on time and did the job within 1 day instead of 2 which was originally estimated. That is quite impressive. I had most of the materials but after consulting with Art on the initial consulation, he went and got the transition pieces that we needed to complete the installation. I have nothing but great things to say about Art Floor Covering. I wish I could give them more than 5*, because these guys should be the gold standard for ALL contractors. We brought a house and the previous owners did such a bad job w their flooring and baseboards (think cheapest path possible but looks just good enough to get away with), we just have to redo it all. I had not heard about Art Floor, but it was through a referral from one of the flooring vendors that partners with them. We were so glad to have found Artur, Alex, and their team. I worked primarily with Alex and he was consultative throughout the entire process and offered design guidance where applicable. In short, Alex and team never shy away from the extra work because I can tell he values customer satisfaction above all else. Example, we had areas of our concrete base being super moist, he easily could have cut corners and get the project done fast and move on. But instead, we waited for weeks for that patch to dry before putting the hardwood on. Or when we had an uneven area, he recommended us to level it off for optimal aesthetics. Or when his crew accidentally nailed our pocket closet doors or chipped a panel, he patched it up immediately, no questions asked or push back. Or when someone threw away the base for a cabinet, he rebuild the base and put the cabinet back where it was but better. The list just goes on. Needless to say, we're are extremely satisfied with the final product and the experience from start to finish. If you've read this far and you still have doubts, dm me. I know for sure whom I'm referring if they are contemplating on flooring. Lastly, the project was also very reasonably priced. Our general contractor was quoting us 2x BEFORE materials. THE FLOORS LOOK FINE, now that the work is done- So in the end we are very pleased for the quality of work for the lowest price quoted, but we did find it a little bit challenging working with the crew. They were gracious and responsive and the lead fellow's English was up to the task, but they were not very communicative. They left the first day without turning on the fan or opening the window a crack. We discovered this after they had left , but of course could not walk into the room to turn on the fan. We did not circulate the heat in the house, so as to try and keep the fumes confined, and ran the ceiling fans and opened up the doors to the rest of the house, but it has been an extremely cold week. We bundled up as best we could, but the fumes from the varnish did not dissipate as quickly as they would have if the fan had been turned on. The second day We asked the fellow to turn on the fan before he left, so that was good.The third day a different crew left the fan on low! Since we couldn't walk on the still-drying door to access the fan for 24 hours there was nothing we could do about this. Seems like an odd oversight. I also had to call about a huge garbage bag which had been left in our front garden. We were assured that it would be picked up, but why didn't the crew just tell us about it before they left? When making the appointment, we also requested that the entire crew wear face masks anywhere in our house, whether or not they were working on the floor,as we are elderly. The crew did have industrial gas masks but clearly had not heard that we would require them To wear masks at all times. Finally on the second day the lead had told me the crew wld show up at 8:30, but then told my husband they would be there at 10. At 10:45 we had to call the main office as they still had not arrived. We needed a 1.5 hour free window that morning, but never got it. Why didn't anyone let us know the crew were running late? Again, the floor refinishing appears fine, but the lack of communication was an issue. read more
