We had our old, unfinished garage completely transformed by Renato and his team at Garage Monkey. They did an incredible job, and our garage now looks even better than our living room! They stayed within our budget, delivered excellent workmanship, and completed the entire project in within 10 days, exactly as promised. We especially love the side door garage opener, Epoxy Flooring and custom cabinets. Renato and his team went above and beyond to customize everything to fit our needs, including cutting the standard slat wall to fit our space and adding electrical receptacle pass-throughs in the cabinets. We are extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend Renato and the Garage Monkey team! read more

I hired Garagemonkey for the floor and door weather stripping. I'm satisfied with the quality of the work itself, but unfortunately, my garage door stopped working after their workers touched the sensors, so I'm currently unable to fully use my garage. The work itself was good, but communication with Renato was the most difficult I've experienced. The scheduling was extremely disorganized, with repeated last-minute changes and delays. It is within budget, but there were so much to take for that. Honestly, I would not recommend this company to friends or family. read more

We had our old unfinished garage overhauled by Renato and his team from Garage Monkey. They did such an amazing job that our garage looks better than our living room. Stayed on budget. Excellent workmanship and finished everything in 2weeks as promised. We also love the custom cabinets. His team customized everything we needed (cutting the standard slat wall to fit the space we had, cabinets with electrical receptacle pass through etc). Highly recommended. read more

Garage recess lights and flooring - they did a great job and they did itsuper fast. Thank you!

If you're looking for quality, speed and efficient work look no further than GarageMonkey. It was a bit pricey but in comparison to competitor quotes, we felt the value was worth it and their well established portfolio of garage makeovers. A good business name We had a dilapidated- literally gross looking garage. Over the span of just 8 days they gave the garage a complete facelift, cabinets and an aesthetically pleasing space at last. I can't even show the before because of how ugly it was but here is the after 10000000 stars it has not only been a physical remodel but an emotional one to our space!! Great to see this when we get home everyday read more

Garage Monkey - Wow! - Cabinetry Near Me - Santa Clara, California

We had our two car garage renovated by GarageMonkey in July of last year. Of the various contractors we contacted, only GarageMonkey was willing to provide us with all the materials, including the cabinetry. The other contractors wanted us to have all the materials pre-selected and on site ahead of time. I would've had no idea exactly what I needed, but Renato went over my needs very very thoroughly and made sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. The whole project was planned out in 3-D on his laptop. He made some really good suggestions on some of the details. In addition to the rest of the work, he resecured the drywall to the ceiling at no charge, and reinforced the old sagging rafters up in the loft for only a few hundred dollars. I was impressed. Thumbs up! read more

horrible and unprofessional. my restaurant kitchen floors fell apart after 5 months. please save yourself time and money with someone else.

I worked with Renato and his team. I was very impressed by quality of work and responsiveness. I asked for estimate and immediately got response, and was able to schedule onsite consultation only couple of days later. The price estimate was very competitive compared to other vendors. Initially I was thinking of buying reasonable off-the-shelf cabinet for garage, but realized many small details in installation that need to be done properly. for example, curb at bottom part of drywall, and we needed notch in cabinet and spacing behind backing of the cabinet. Renato suggested good solution, and his team worked two days including w/e to meet my timeline. read more

Contacted with this company for restaurant flooring (ie health department). SLOW scheduling, non-transparent, and after 6 months, the cove base (highly important) CRACKED. They named "wet walls" but never did a moisture check either pre- install or afterward. It took FIVE (5) months for action to repair. Initially we were told it would cost $1700 to "repair". After push back, they agreed to repair no charge. BUT! the same cracks exist because (our opinion) their angel of cove base is incorrect (too much distance from wall). AND! After their misattempted correction, they left sticky glue foot prints all over the kitchen floor, which has sand with coating for grip and terribly difficult to clean. We had to demand that they clean their sticky mess even though they knew they left an entire mess. When workers arrived, they were argumentative and started shouting. We told them to leave. In addition, the dining room also has cracks and holes where they had sanded, painted and applied top coat. We showed this to the rep who "repaired" the cove base, which still has cracks due to separation from wall. He said "I know how this happened. I will tell the manager." Long story short: they do not stand by their warranty -- they missed appointments, they were difficult to work with for certificate of insurance, and business contact, Renato, was frequently not available due to vacation/travel that was not pre-disclosed during important timelines for occupancy. He blamed his dad for missing an appointment.. If you are a resident painting /sealing garage floors, it probably works. But the company also touted expertise with restaurants and labs, which require vigorous health codes and they do not stand the test of a year of quality work . read more

After one year, Renato contacted me and asked if the cabinets and epoxy floor were good. Cabinets work great. Floor has 2 spots came off because the tires were wet after rain. Renato promised to come by and fix them. He sent his guy today and patched them. You don't find this kind of service anymore. Would highly recommend Garage Monkey. read more

Ours is a 1960s house that was remodeled by the flippers. They just laid self leveling concrete over the original floor but didn't patch up existing cracks so all the cracks reappeared. I called several companies for quotes and just asked one question "how will you fix the floor". I got lazy approaches and incorrect answers and half baked solutions from many but Renato explained all the steps and exactly how they'll do it and didn't over promise due to the nature of the project. What started with only an epoxy project turned into a full remodel with custom cabinets, storage rack and slat wall. The floor itself took 5 days including demo of the existing cement layer, grinding, filling cracks and epoxy. 2 more days for rest of the work. Renato was very patient and listened to all my concerns and suggestions. They even disconnected the water softener and connected it back after the floor was done. eventually everything worked out just perfect even better than I had anticipated. I've posted some before and after pictures. Highly recommend the company for all your garage needs. read more

I agree with other reviews describing the unprofessional way this company handles customer requests. Maybe they truly provide the best garage remodeling services in the area, but I wasn't even able to get a quote or estimate. The first time I scheduled an appointment, the representative didn't show up. When I texted to ask what happened, they replied, "So sorry, completely missed it." I rescheduled for another day, but they didn't show up again. When I followed up by text, they responded 24 hours later, saying they were on their way--even though the appointment had been the day before. Unsurprisingly, no one ever came. Overall, I felt like I was being trolled. read more

I enjoyed working with Garage Monkey through all stages of my garage update. I put in cabinets, bike rack and slat wall. I was happy with the design, quoting, timeliness of the work, the team, and the finish. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their garage. Renato was great! He has attention to detail and is prompt with responses. He has a good group of guys and he's available when needed.

Had a great experience. Garage Monkey was thoughtful of my timeline and never made me feel pressured. They did an excellent job with the garage floors. They even came back out because part of the clear coat didn't dry properly (only a couple quarter size spots) and they came out and fixed it. Very happy with them and couldn't beat the price. Would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in garage floor epoxy. read more

I had a custom design for garage storage units that I inquired about to a handful of businesses through Yelp's search feature. Renato was one of the quickest to reply that he could do the job. I sent him drawings and we texted back and forth to discuss options. He made several suggestions to help reduce the cost, but I wanted maple plywood and he was one of the few vendors I had contacted that was willing to use this at a completely fair price. We had several other closet builders come out to assess the job and none were able to give us the detail of customization that Renato could. Eventually, we had him come out to do a measurement to finalize details for the job. Renato was able to whip up a comp in his 3-D program and show us what it would look like right away. We decided to go with him to do the custom maple plywood cabinets, slat walls, overhead hanging rack and polyaspartic/epoxy flooring. They were able to schedule us right away and work began the next week. We couldn't believe how quickly he said the cabinets were ready to go in, though the flooring had to go first obviously so the timing relied on that being ready. Throughout the process, Renato, Renzo and team were communicative and wonderful to work with. The team on site left the area clean and organized at the end of each work day. I'm so happy we went with Garage Monkey for our project. The garage looks SO good and we are beyond pleased with the results. We don't think anyone else could have made our vision come to fruition the way these guys did. And their price was the most fair of all of the quotes we got. We're going to be telling everyone we know to contact these guys for any related work. read more

We used this company for our garage epoxy floors and even though some of the other reputable floor companies came and gave me a quote, they were all pretty darn close. Renato was great at responding to my questions and helped me pick the right flooring type. I was worried about different types of barrier coatings but in the end he assured me that what we picked is fine for our needs. I'd reach out and give them a chance to send you a quote, they are quick and on time. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job seamlessly. The floor turned out amazing. read more

Epoxy and garage cabinets: Renato and his guys finished our garage work. Project :: Garage Remodel Positives :: 1) Quick to reply with the quote 2) Quick to text back when discussing the quote 3) Detailed answers to my questions on the various items when discussing what needs to be done 3) Good work with the drywall and insulation install 4) Work was started very quickly in a few days 5) The two people working on the project were courteous 6) Flexible with itemized pricing unlike another vendor that stated $19000 flat rate for a 1 car garage 7) Renato speaks and writes (English) well - so communication is clear Things that could have gone / been better :: 1) Electrical and Drywall work was done fine but without permits. It was partially my mistake of not asking for a permit and partially on Renato to explicitly not state that this work requires a permit. Unfortunately, a city inspector stopped and flagged the work due to no permits and a stop work order has been issued at the residence 2) Renato is very busy and at times it took many hours / multiple reminders to get a response. This was at the time when the work was about to begin / was being done 3) The two people working on this project barely knew English so it was not possible to have a discussion with them regarding the work being done or ask them questions on the project 4) The work space was not cleant up properly after the work and stapler pins stuck to the bottom of my shoes a few days after when I walking in the garage My overall experience so far on this project has between okay and good. Due to the stop order, the project is incomplete, sanding, priming and painting has not been done read more

Renato and his team were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a garage makeover. I initially contacted a larger chain/franchise for an estimate but found Renato to be much more flexible and responsive. We iterated on the precise measurements and layout a few times and Renato was eager to make sure I got exactly what I wanted, happily responding via cell/text/e-mail. I even requested to re-schedule the installation due to possible rain in the forecast and Renato was more than happy to do so. The team was punctual and efficient and it was clear they had a lot of experience doing this many times. The cabinets are extremely durable and high quality and are built to last. Would highly recommend. read more

Renato and team design the garage of my dreams in my last house! Too bad I sold it and can't take the garage with me; it was that amazing! Consultation was easy and fast. Renato got my vision down, shared his suggestions and it was a very fast turn around to get everything done. We got floor to ceiling shelving that was so deep and wide that we couldn't even fill it up; it was that ample of added storage! The slat walls were amazing to hang things from leaf blowers and tools on one wall to umbrellas and dog leashes on the other wall and the custom shoe rack was perfect! We got so many compliments and reach outs for people wanting to do theirs next. I'm so OCD and this really was a project I was so happy to have done. Garage Monkey is AWESOME! I'm extremely pleased with my new finished garage. We went with drywall texturing, paint (eggshell) and epoxy floors (tan). After the initial back and forth via text (~1week) , Renato came over to take measurements, and walked us through our options. He was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our questions and concerns. He left flooring and paint samples with us, and also gave us access to a huge google drive folder containing pictures of past projects. Renato followed up a week later. After confirming our color choices, things moved rather quickly. The crew started applying mud on Wednesday and they were done with the final epoxy coat the following Wednesday (No work on Sat/Sun). Communication was a bit slow at first, but not unreasonably so. Once we confirmed our choices, Renato stayed very communicative and kept me updated throughout the process via text and progress pictures. Renato and team made the whole project easy and stress-free. With COVID raging and everything closed down, my family decided to convert the garage into a gym. The garage was such a mess and so cluttered and dirty. Even after we cleaned everything, it was just so drab and pitiful to look at, much less spend time in. After a lot of research and consultation we found Renato and Garage Monkey. We had a lot of consultants come over, but after a few looks and a quick quote they were gone. Renato spent well over an hour measuring and discussing every kind of option and even brought color samples to discuss patterns and matching. It was an incredibly comprehensive meeting and I was instantly sold on the presentation. A few days later a quote was presented to us and not only did they beat the prices of every one else, the quality and effort Renato demonstrated really sold me on the pride he took on the work he would do. Renato and his team were promptly at my house 7-8AM every day of the working week and was able to quickly move through and repair the walls and the floor. Everything was done promptly and they were very clean and courteous. At the end everything was done very well and the communication between Renato and us was impeccable. I have had many great services on Yelp, but I can confidently say that this is definitely one of the best investments I have made for my house. read more
