I wanted two things: custom shelving that required a CNC machine; and fake doors that would have the same theme as the custom shelves. My experience was outstanding! Custom shelves are hard because the house has settled, so the measurements are funky; one side is taller than the other, the nook is a weird dimension, etc. We iterated on the design until it worked for the space; and this beautiful space sports color LEDs and recess lighting, which makes it a book reading dream. The doors were very smartly done - the pattern is the same as the shelves, but they alternate so that the door is not crazy thick, and has functional shelving from both sides of the door. Hooray for Zest 4 Handyman Services! I needed to have our shower hinge / shower door hinge replaced, which a lot of handyman services surprisingly did *not* offer (I guess most don't work with glass?) but Zest 4 Handyman came in clutch, beating out other handyman services in the area in terms of price (about $10 less/hour than other places), and availability (was able to come early the next day, around 8:30am). I suspected that I had a stripped screw (a nightmare of any home repair) in my shower (so add years of soap scum and hard water), so I knew I had to hire a handyman. This ended up being completely the case since Ali had to completely drill out the screw enclosure to start the work, but after that was done, it was a fairly simple job that he performed quickly and even cleaned up all the metal shavings afterwards! He was very professional during the entire job, even when he asked me to help him out for a couple of minutes haha. My only gripe is with communication - although being reachable by phone or text is helpful, I asked to be texted on his way over so I could buzz him into the gate. I only received one text, about 15 minutes before he said he was going to arrive, that he was at the door already, causing me to scramble a bit. That being said, once he got into the job, it was performed quickly, cleanly, and professionally, so no real complaints here! They made sure to be respective of our space and laid safety covers so that our kitchen doesn't get dirty. They followed proper safety protocol by wearing masks throughout and socially distanced which we really appreciate. The work was completed in a timely manner and was done in a clean way. Ali is great. He transformed my house via partial remodel of outdated kitchen. He and his crew did four projects. They removed the family room popcorn ceiling, texturized the ceiling. Their painter painted the entire family room including the ceiling. He primed and painted 2 coats. Ali installed 23 recessed lights in 5 areas aka family room, 3 bathrooms, and kitchen. He and his crew removed the fluorescent light fixtures in 4 of the areas. In 2 of the bathrooms, they covered the fluorescent light box area aka recessed area with sheet of drywall made especially for bathrooms. This made for a nice smooth ceiling to texturing, paint and install recessed lites. Ali's brother single handedly install the beautiful backsplash while Ali installed the lites. As part of the kitchen remodel, 2 of the crew demolished the kitchen countertops and removed the backsplash on the first day. As part of tge popcorn removal, they also repaired, textured some drywall near the family room where the wet bar had been removed earlier. Ali replaced 4 appliances. They installed a new kitchen sink, new kitchen faucet, new cooktop and new range hood. The last 2 appliances, Alis brother and another crew member came the same day the backordered items arrived and installed them in a matter of 2 hours along with installing 2 bathroom vanity lites. I needed a shelf cut off that extended from the bathroom sink over my toilet and prevented access to the tank. The two workmen who came did a great job--you couldn't even tell there had been a ledge. The edges were smooth where they cut off the extension and they painted the area where the shelf was removed. I was very impressed!
