I posted the task (mailbox post installation) on a Sunday night and got a response from Elmar within 30 min. Elmar gave a quote me right away and was open to doing the job at 6 pm next day (Monday) which was great for me since I didn't have to stay at home on a working day. He was also upfront that if the old post is set in a concrete surface, the cost would be somewhat higher. While I knew that the surface had pebbles set in concrete, I had no idea how thick the concrete is around the post. He assured me that if the concrete is thin, his quote will not change. On Monday, he confirmed 45 min before arriving that he was on his way and showed up on time. As he started digging, he found that concrete was quite thick (over 12" deep), so it took him an hour to dig the hole around the previous post as I wanted the new post to be installed few inches away from the old post. He confirmed with me the location of the new post and the height I wanted. He got the job done in about 2 hours, showed to me how the post was vertical along 2 axis and at level on the third axis (honestly I didn't care so much since it is just a mailbox but I took his penchant for precision as a sign that he cares about the quality of his work). Great handyman (contractor) overall, I will use his services again when needed. read more
