Akyl, Vadim, and team did a great job for a very reasonable price. They were extremely professional and respectful of our home. Specifically... My kitchen needed to be rebuilt after some significant water damage. The water remediation company and all contractors who quoted me warned me that handling my quartz backsplash had a significant risk of breakage. Vadim and Akyl put it back in one piece (whew!). They also installed additional shelving that was not originally in the scope - super kind of them! There were a couple of areas that required floor-to-ceiling shelving installation (with lighting), drywall replacement, and some termite damage remediation. All of this work was also done with care. For the drywall - the paint texture and color beautifully match the area - I cannot tell where the repair was made. Finally, the electrician did a great job putting in an additional socket and fixing paired light switches that weren't working together properly. The whole job took a couple of weeks, and it was a pleasure to have the crew in our house. Neighborhood Construction is now my go-to general contractor and I definitely plan to hire them again for additional jobs in my home. read more

For context, in 13 years of owning an older home, we did our fair share of projects with various contractors. Neighborhood construction was the best experience we had in any remodel hands down. Highly recommend! They handled the whole remodel very professionally, thoroughly, and with solid communication along the way. We are in Pacifica (further from their normal area), so the first quote was via Zoom - perfect efficiency. We also scaled down from pocket door back to swing in door, and that actually *lowered* the price from their original quote. All pricing was very fair and transparent. I appreciated guidance in picking out finishing materials. Akyl drove with me to help pick out materials near our house. For initial inspection (rough plumbing and electrical), either Akyl or Vadim came out. Majority of the work was done with the technicians on the ground (Sergei and Vitaliy) - very pleasant to work with. I appreciated the daily cleanup. They also let me know steps along the way. It was not a trivial project, removing a (non-load bearing) wall, but one that contained the pipes and original shower head. Ellis, who was communicating milestones and next steps, was easy to reach (by text, phone or email). For one day, when as part of the construction we had discovered roots in our sewer line and they had to coordinate with the plumber - she promptly communicated the wait, and additional estimate. Again, doing a big project in an older house (first floor was built in the 1940s), one expects small hiccups along the way. Yet, Neighborhood Construction made the process so smooth. Communicated clearly timelines, and followed through. Any additional quotes (existing issues with our roots in sewer) were very fairly priced, additional steps communicated. It was impressive to work with such a professional team. The team also handled the permitting with the city and inspections. Would highly recommended them to anyone else tackling a larger project. I would certainly be using them again in the future. read more

I recently had an issue with my Nest Doorbell that stopped ringing, and I wasn't sure if it was a hardware problem with my house or the doorbell itself. I reached out to Neighborhood Construction through Yelp over the weekend, and I was impressed by how quickly they responded and how willing they were to go back and forth with me on the details. Even though I thought I might be able to tackle it myself, their responsiveness and willingness to work with me convinced me to give them a shot--just in case there were underlying issues I couldn't spot. They sent two team members who were extremely respectful of my property and worked very efficiently. They stuck to the quoted price exactly, which I really appreciated. It turned out there was nothing wrong with my house's wiring--the Nest Doorbell itself had likely failed. Their honest assessment and transparency meant a lot. I would definitely recommend Neighborhood Construction for this type of work, and I'll absolutely be calling them again if I need more complex projects done in the future. Great experience all around! read more

Great communication, reasonable price, and the work was done quickly, without having to buy new material.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience working with this handyman team Neighborhood Construction and I can't recommend them enough! I hired them to help with a series of move-out repairs and touch-ups for my rental property, and they exceeded expectations in every way. They were incredibly responsive and professional from the start. The scope of work included spot painting the walls, carefully removing sticky tapes and marks to refresh the space, cleaning out the garbage disposal, fixing a refrigerator door issue, and repairing a door handle in one of the bedrooms. Every task was done thoroughly, neatly, and with great attention to detail. They were punctual, efficient, and respectful of the space--truly a pleasure to work with. Making my rental home like new build. What impressed me even more was their versatility and willingness to go the extra mile. The very next day, I also had them take professional real estate photos for my rental listing. The photos turned out beautifully--clean, bright, and perfectly framed--and they delivered the edited images on the same day. That level of efficiency and quality is rare! Their pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the range of services they offer and the quality of their work. From handyman tasks to professional photography, they really do it all--and they do it well. If you're looking for reliable, skilled, and fairly priced help for your home repairs, maintenance, or even photography, look no further. I will definitely be using their services again and recommending them to friends and neighbors. Five stars all the way! read more

I had a great experience with Akyl and Nursultan for my office remodel and bathroom fan installation. Nursultan did the bulk of the work. He was respectful, did regular check-ins with me to keep me informed, and overall did great work. The company itself has great communication, and was responsive over text when I needed them. Would definitely recommend Neighborhood, and will keep them in mind for future projects. Thanks guys! read more

5 stars all around! I hired Neighborhood Construction to remodel my garage. I had an old dropped ceiling that was in a failing mode and old panels were constantly falling out. I have asked Neighborhood Construction to completely replace the old ceiling, rewire ceiling lights, add a few electrical outlets, install a new utility sink, dispose of all cabinets and place new ones. Also, they had fixed and painted walls in the process. What I liked the most about Neighborhood Construction is their impeccable craftsmanship, attention to details and quality of work. Another aspect of their work is following codes and best of practices, especially when dealing with electrical conduits. I felt that they have delivered a quality work in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. I also liked that they have made a couple of callbacks in a timely manner to address some of the post projects fixes modifications. Also, they went extra mile fixing a particular problem with wiring of an outlet in my kitchen that was outside of the original project scope, that may or may not has been related to work done in a garage. I feel like I have discovered a trusted professional partner in my future projects as they have advised me on other potential fixes and made a few recommendations without trying to upcharge me. I liked working with this company and will hire them again! Thanks, Vlad read more

I had a great experience working with **Neighborhood Construction**. After my upstairs neighbor had a leak that damaged my ceiling drywall, water mitigation was completed and I needed someone reliable to repair the drywall, replace insulation, and repaint the area. I contacted Neighborhood Construction, and they were responsive and professional from the start. The manager even stopped by beforehand to review the scope of work and provide a clear estimate and timeline, which I really appreciated. They were able to start the work the very next day and completed everything efficiently. They handled purchasing all the necessary materials--drywall, insulation, primer, and orange peel texture--while I provided the paint. The workmanship was excellent: the drywall repair blended seamlessly with the existing ceiling, the insulation was properly refilled, and the final result looks great. Overall, the service was high quality, timely, and reasonably priced. I'm very satisfied with the outcome and will definitely consider them again in the future if I need a reliable handyman. read more

Quality work and great service all around. From the start, Neighborhood Construction was professional. They offered a quote in a very timely manner and it was detailed. This was importantly because I was dealing with an insurance claim and they provided all of the information I needed. Oleg showed up right on time and I actually received a call and text beforehand from Lisa in the office letting me know he was arriving. Oleg was polite, and very neat, he explained the process and informed me about everything along the way. Lisa called to check how the work was and their billing was simple and easy as well. They broke my address sign and cracked my stone veneer during installation. At least they reimbursed me for the sign and didn't charge me

Akyl and his team did one job of installation of outdoor lighting for me. I felt it was extremely hard to deal with them as they constantly canceled appointments and kept changing prices on me. But I looked past it and still proceeded with trying to hire them for other projects I needed around the house. This time I asked them to come over and give me an estimate for everything to make sure we are on the same page. Of course nothing had changed and they rescheduled a few times with me for the estimate appointment. My time obviously has no value to them. When Akyl finally made it over he gave me verbal quotes. Which I thought were reasonable. However when he got home he sent me an estimate with more then triple the amount he quoted me in person. I just feel that this business can not be trusted. If you want to try them out I would strongly suggest getting written quotes with no to exceed amounts and never trust what they say verbally. If you would like proof of my communication with them- please feel free to message me and I will share them with you before you decide to go with this crew. read more

We wanted to install a screen door for our front door so we went to Yelp and asked for multiple quotes. Vinny responded quickly and offered good pricing for his services and after meeting with him, we agreed to do the work. Vinny is very responsive and just a very nice guy! He finished the job in good time and cleaned up well afterwards. We are very satisfied with his work and will not hesitate to request his services in the future.
