At first, I had multiple positive experiences with CS Electric. They installed my Tesla charger, replaced my electrical panel, and later worked on my breakers. I appreciated their professionalism during the first few projects. Unfortunately, my most recent service--the most expensive one--left me disappointed. After the work was completed, I noticed that one breaker on my panel was missing a label. When I asked Caio, the owner, about it, I was told that they could not identify it during testing and that it might be connected to a hidden outlet. I was advised to turn the breaker off for several hours, or even a day, and see what stops working. When I asked what the old panel had listed for that breaker, I was told there was no label. As a customer who paid on time and in full, I expected better accountability. Since all of the wiring was stripped and reconnected during the panel replacement, I believe identifying and properly labeling the circuits should have been part of the job. The lack of ownership and follow-through was frustrating. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this service moving forward. read more

I HAVE WORKED WITH THIS COMPANY. Getting a quote and corresponding/sending pictures is working with this company. The person giving me the quote was very curt, and the company on here has been rude. Did a quote without seeing the full scope of the work in person. You can't give a clear and honest quote unless you see in person exactly what needs to be done and its true condition. I asked about the disclaimer/terms and conditions because 16 pages was alarming to me when the quote was less than a half page and TRIED TO DISCUSS IT. But the response was that that was just the way it was. If you go with this company or any company, 1) Please read ALL the reviews, especially the negative ones and the company's responses, to get a true, accurate picture of how you might be treated by this company. I was. 2) Read their 16 page terms and conditions/disclaimer VERY VERY carefully. It states clearly that IT IS ALL part of the contract. CS States: "...This Contract constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings, and agreements between the parties, whether written or oral. No amendment or modification to this Contract shall be binding unless in writing and signed by both parties..." and "... LIABILITY: Please note, damages to property can occur during electrical work. CS Electric does not take responsibility for scratches, damage to furniture, doors, windows, trim work, walls, or any interior or exterior for the property; with reason we will try to help when contacted..." ***They can say that they don't expect all their requirements be met or anything else, but what REALLY matters legally is what ANY company has in writing and signed. You will be bound to what you sign. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING.*** 3) make sure they do a quote clearly spelled out IN WRITING only after they have seen in person the full scope of the job and its condition. 4) Keep a good paper trail AND Put all correspondence in writing even verbal conversations. If after doing all this you still want to give this company a shot, at least you made an educated choice and went into business with them with your eyes wide open. I hired CS Electric to install a Level 2 EV charger at my home. Out of the 3-5 places I received quotes for, they were in the ballpark but not the highest. They also took the time to send me a proper estimate after an initial phone call where we went through pictures of my electrical panel setup. Ciao and his colleague did a good job with the install, and the EV charger works. Ciao also helped me troubleshoot my AC which had stopped working during a heat wave. CS Electric - New electrical box with NEMA 14-50 outlet. - Electricians Near Me - Santa Clara, California

I gave several chances before I considered writing a negative review. Ciaó installed a 200 amp electrical panel. After I signed the contract and gave him a deposit we waited for city approval. Once it was given he said I would need to pay more for a stucco guy. When I said, I was uncomfortable with that as we already signed a contract to get the job done he said maybe he could get the guy to do it for free. Not a big deal but I had confirmed with Ciaó that the contract covered everything before I signed. Next concern was that all the trash and spare parts were just left at the side of my house for me to dispose of. I had to put some in my car and take it to a dumpster as it did not fit in the garbage can. it also took me a while to clean the parts that were left in the dirt, things like like spliced wire, nuts, bolts, wrappers, etc. The thing that made me decide to write this was that I paid the final payment without getting the permit but Ciaó said he would get it to me the next day. That was October 4th. Still don't have it. The third time I asked for it was last Sunday. I still don't have it. Each time I've asked he's said he can get it to me but then doesn't. I hope he went through the permit process. He charged me for a permit. Also, my dishwasher caught on fire the next day after the electrical panel was installed. Ciaó says it's not related and I don't know enough about electricity to know but it seems mighty coincidental. I had to replace the dishwasher. I've talked to a couple electricians who say they are pretty sure it was the Electrician that caused the problem of the dishwasher catching on fire. read more

I guess it is OK to work with Caio's team. I have mixed feelings. This project wat to replace old main panel with new one to be solar ready. First it took more than 2 months from beginning to end to get it done... It is ok but it is longer than anticipated. There were several mess ups. Like SJ city inspector got earlier than he should and start yelling at me and my contractors to schedule incorrectly. On the final inspection CS Electric stuck in traffic and inspector left and they rescheduled a week later. So scheduling with the city might be improved. Also work itself was OK.. but team replaced one of the stud and they aligned upper portion fine but lower portion of the stud stuck out by 1/2 inch and it was more work to put drywall back because of stud bump... Other concern is surge protection device was installed supper tight and you have hard time closing panel door. Recently guy from PGE asked me to close the door myself because he does not want to brake anything and installers should do a better job doing this... This is also not a big deal but not ideal. Another issue that breaker selection was not correct in some instances. So basically I have AC unit and it suppose to have a double pole breaker of 20 Amp but 40 Amp breaker was installed... This might be a concern. Also breaker labels were not 100% correct... let say they put surge protector and put label garage outlets... it is not a big deal but... When I selected this company they have a competitive pricing and the next closes quote was 150$ more. However I ended up paying for additional city inspection time and it was around 150$ (I am not 100% sure that it was due to first mess up with city inspector; permits records does not show this but city charged extra time; normally you could get everything done in allocated time if you are doing everything correctly). So the bottom line is if quotes are the same go with other guy if this quote somewhat less go with CS Electric but in the end you might have some regrets. PS By the way Caio (the owner) is good people person and communication from owner was great and with good response time and he made some good suggestions about waterproofing panels (I did this myself). read more

Good work/Okay communication/POOR pricing model TLDR: Try other clear cut prociders I enjoyed having one of the workers come and install my home charger. He took the time to correct his mistakes and cleaned up relatively well. Kyle was also cool, but I really disliked the pricing model he made up. Initially the quote was fantastic for less than 5ft of distance for the charger. Then I decided to scale out to 35ft. So from $650 it jumped to $1600. Keep in mind there is no fishing behind drywall or anything like that. Now that part doesn't bother me too much, let's just argue parts and labor can double from 5 - 35ft somehow, fine. But what bothered me was he mentioned very very last minute in person, while the service was being performed, that taking credit incurs a random 6% charge which destroys the 5% discount for new customers. This was absolutely ridiculous as the work was already underway and I didn't want his employee to scratch everything. This was definitely the most expensive installation vs other providers. Overall BEWARE! I highly recommend going elsewhere for other providers as they will give you CLEAR estimates and no random surcharges. Believe me adding these credit card fees is a simple scam, you end up paying through the same chase app anyways. Here is the breakdown of the inquiry: 10% deposit due at contract signing 35% material down payment due on starting day or when material is ordered 25% due upon completion of rough work 25% due upon passing rough inspection. If no rough inspection is required, 50% will be due upon completion of rough work 5% due upon completion of final inspection The math does not add up, this is just informal fluff read more

My wife and I bought our first home, its an older home and the electrical panels/sub-panels were original/outdated so there was a good amount of work to be done. Very glad we went with Caio and team. Caio came out to do the estimate and explained what needed to be changed and why which I appreciated. They updated and rewired the main panel and sub panels. There were some delays that were out of the teams control, weather related or the inspector giving misleading scheduling information (I personally spoke to the inspector and he did not show up when he said he would). I got Caio to install a Tesla charger at home. My mains has a max amperage rating of 120 amps. You are not supposed to use more than 20% of the rating. That makes it 24 amps. He left the Charger at the default which is 48A. That caused my mains to trip a couple times. A friend pointed out that you could configure the charger to 24 amps. All you need to do is download the app and set the max to 24 amps - so it never goes exceeds the max power. It took me 20 mins to do it. If you don't do that you need to remember to set the amperage each time you hook up the car to charge or risk tripping the mains! They did not know something as basic as this . read more

Just finished the panel upgrade work with Caio, the project took about 22 months, I think the work quality is okay, but the communication is poor, I had to follow up multiple times to receive timely responses and updates. Also there were some last minute requests happening in the process, I had to arrange things in a short time period made things rough. Though PG&E might be the biggest hold back in this project, CS Electric fell short in proactively driving the job forward or providing regular updates. Their lack of communication was frustrating, as I often had to initiate contact to receive information. Don't think I will come back for another job. read more

Other businesses gave me crazy quotes claiming that it's all for safety while I'm an Electrical engineer and I'm dead sure from my 10+ experience in the field that all of this safety talk is crap. One guy even pulled rank on me and claimed that it's his opinion because he is a certified electrician and can't take the risk which meant to me that it's either he totally doesn't know the true dynamics behind the claimed safety issue or he is just trying to scam me. Another large scale company gave me 4x the normal rate. On the other hand, Caio was so spot on. He gave me the exact price I expected and pre-calculated actually - no BS.
