I went to the store to replace two light bulbs, one for a 28 year-old ceiling fixture and one for a floor lamp at least 85 years old. Neither bulb had any writing or identifiable markings. No one at the big box stores knew what these were, so I went to Lamps Plus where I should have gone first. The staff member in the "bulb department" identified both immediately. He had the newer compatible LED bulb for the ceiling fixture and wrote down the complete ID for the old floor lamp bulb as well as where to get it online. This wasn't the first time I found odd or old bulbs at Lamps Plus as well as several great lamps. It's a great store with staff who really know their lamps, fixtures, bulbs, and furniture. read more

I had a problem with wall mount controls not working along side the remote controls for a couple of fans. Nick, reached out to us and came over to trouble shoot. He said the fan controls do not usually have a problem with working together that we experience. At first, it seemed like they just would not work. So, he got creative and found a fix that allowed both sets of controls to work together. He also took time to adjust one of the fans to correct a clicking noise it made when running on high. I was really impressed with how responsive Nick was and how he handled the problems. read more

Picture this: I'm in my living room, eagerly unboxing my new lamp, carefully peeling away layers of crumbling styrofoam as hundreds of tiny white flakes scatter like confetti around the house. After assembling several pieces, I discover the wires in one section have completely snapped. I call the store, expecting a smooth resolution. Instead, I'm cheerfully asked if I happen to live nearby and can bring it back so they can ship me a new one. Interesting. They make the mistake, and I get to spend my time fixing it? I ask if FedEx can pick it up instead. At first, that's a no, but after some back and forth, they agree to send a shipping label. Still, you'd think they might offer *something* for the hassle--after all, repacking a heavy, broken lamp (with its puzzle-like pieces), cleaning up the styrofoam explosion, and waiting for a replacement just to redo this whole ordeal isn't exactly my idea of a good time. But no, apparently because the lamp was already on sale, I should feel grateful to have already paid several hundred dollars for this experience. The rep wrapped things up with, "Let us know next time!" but based on this first impression, I'm not so sure there will be a next time. read more

My husband and I came all the way up here from the Monterey area because Home Depot had an awful selection. We had already done our research online, and figured we knew exactly what we wanted, but upon seeing a few sconces in person realized we didn't prefer certain styles or sizes. Christopher was fantastic at assisting us in finding replacement items for each room of our new home, patiently looking at photos and researching the website alongside us to find better deals that fit our vision. Once we had finally narrowed things down, he even climbed a ladder to replace some bulbs to show us different lighting options inside the sconces we had chosen. Nothing has arrived yet, so we can't speak to the products themselves within our home, but the purchase process was smooth and low-pressure, with Christopher cracking jokes and keeping what could have been a stressful furnishing experience "light" (pun intended). We only wish we had a Lamps Plus near us, but we were assured the return process should be simple if necessary, and he even offered to look up postage costs versus mileage should we need to bring back any of the items. I was like a kid lost in a candy factory again this weekend when I visited the Stevens Creek branch of Lamps Plus because I know I will get great quality and amazing value again with my purchase. I have been to this store several times in the past and I loved all the home decors I got. All the selections I purchased looked elegant again as usual but this time I browsed their online catalog first before I came to the store and believe it or not, unlike the past purchases, all these stuff I bought were all from open boxes. Looking at them you wouldn't even think that they were open boxes because they looked new and expensive. I got them all for a very good price and I was a very happy camper. The service was excellent as usual with Christopher remaining poised and professional and immaculate in his polished look as always. The rest of the guys were also there. Maria, Carlos and Benny. All very accommodating and friendly. Chris greeted me as soon as I came in and he said he could recognize me from my bubbly voice from a mile away. Lol. Coming here was like meeting your old friends after a long time. And I havent been here in a bit. They told me last time I was there was 7 months ago. It felt longer. As you can see from the pictures I took, I am one very happy customer since I got all "bougie" and expensive looking pieces like they jumped out from the centerfold of an Architectural Digest catalog. And for the price I got them for. Oh my!! Price was significantly slashed because all of my interesting selections were classified under open boxes. My condo looking so swank, updated and cozy. Salesperson Jennifer was knowledgeable and helpful . We walked in to see some of the lights we picked out on Lamps Plus website. Makes a big different in person to see the actual light. Jennifer gave me lots of helpful information about the chandelier we like: type of bulbs , cable length (we specifically needed 9ft cable which is not easy to find on the modern style we like. If it weren't for all the relevant information Jennifer provided, we would have thought the lamp didn't meet our needs. Hope the chandelier looks as good in our house as it does in the store. Company's return policy says clearly $50 fee with cut wire. Manager said no return with cut wire. Updated after got contacted with the regional manager, who allowed us to return the fan to the san jose store with a $50 restock fee. 4 star for Lampsplus.com as a whole company. I moved into a new house a couple years ago and while we like the light fixtures, left by the previous homeowners, the bulbs are not your run of the mill standard types. I knew of this store from a friend and knew they sold all kinds of lighting and bulbs. When I went I was greeted by a very nice and helpful salesman. I was also hesitant buying it in October at the original price because holiday season is coming. However the staff assured me that they would adjust the price if it's on sale within 60 days.
