We bought a house in Pleasanton that was a perfect location for our family, but the inside needed quite a bit of work. The projects included re-wiring the entire house, remodeling a guest bathroom, completely remodeling the kitchen, removing a wall, redoing flooring, drywall, insulation, and updating the laundry room. After interviewing 6+ contractors we decided on Inspired Builders and are extremely happy with our decision. Our project manager Eden was with us from the very first meeting and was instrumental to making sure the entire process went smoothly. Eden was very responsive & professional, explain (and followed through on) the company's remodeling process which included a designer, 3D renderings, help with materials, tight timelines, and a 'no surprise' promise. We purchased our house in the summer and wanted to move quickly to be able to finish the remodel before the holidays and Inspired Builders got it done for us. They did pre-signing meetings with us, handled all the permits, met us to finalize the design and materials, and communicated an appropriate amount during the entire process. We chose to move out of our house for 2 months so this communication was very welcomed. They were very reasonable with the minor changes we requested mid-build, and kept their promise to not charge me extra for any surprises that we encountered during demolition/construction. Last December, I began my search for a reputable and diligent remodeling and construction team for my home renovation. After interviewing a total of four companies (all found on Yelp), my husband and I made the decision to move forward with Inspired Builders. What brought us to that decision was the communication style and friendliness of our project manager, Ben. He had a good sense of humor and straightforward approach. Despite Inspired Builder's quote coming nearly 20k over another company, we still went with them. Our project was a hallway bathroom remodel, a kitchen remodel, and renovating two bedrooms into 1 primary suite with an added on closet and bathroom, effectively going from 3 BR 1 BA to 2 BR 2 BA. We also repainted the interior of the home, re-finished the walls, removed a fireplace, and completely redid the flooring. My husband and I come from a super humble background - him a teacher, and me in non-profit work. That means EVERY. SINGLE. DOLLAR is not taken for granted, and everything we spent was intentionally saved. Ben really understood this and explained every phase of the construction and what we were paying for, and i felt he wasn't trying to scam me into paying into things i didn't need. Like any thrilling home renovation, we stumbled upon a couple issues here and there - one with our solar, our plumbing, and some rotted wood in the bathroom. Ben communicated the issues at every step and kept in contact with us and essentially took care of whatever he could. Since my husband is a teacher and I work in San Francisco, we weren't on site every day or every week and trusted Ben completely to help us make decisions and get things done, and he did just that. Partway through the process, we were given a different on-site manager and it was a bummer to not be able to see Ben anymore, although he stayed in contact weekly - and i should note that we got reassigned not for anything bad, but because Ben got promoted! Let me tell ya, these guys are working on 5-6 projects at a time and yet somehow he answers within an hour, and knows every detail of your project and doesn't get it confused with another project. One thing I would recommend is being really clear about your price preferences on finished materials, and be willing to look for things yourself if you don't agree with the price of something chosen for you. And be prepared to stay super organized - they give you a google sheet with items you need to purchase by room, and it's super important to check EVERY LINK and make sure you're buying what you're supposed to get. If you're confused, ASK THE QUESTIONS! Anyway, the house turned out beautifully and we're so thrilled to move back in. We had a great experience working with Bar, Barak, and crew. We remodeled both of our bathrooms simultaneously - including all plumbing and bringing quite a few things up to code. The team was very accommodating and was able to finish one bathroom first, so we could move back in to our house while they finished up the second bathroom. The communication with Bar and Barak surpassed expectations, they were even responsive on weekends during the project! David / Inspired builder finished our remodel last year. This was an addition of 500 sq ft with one bed and bath; and entire house remodel. It turned out to be a big project. Inspired builder helped us through entire journey: design - permit- parts/ finishing - construction, etc. We had good fun. Inception to permit approval took 6 months; and permit to house move-in took six months. Incredible commitment, quality. I loved the transparency of the team. One thing I really liked about the team was to provide some ideas which did not costs us money or almost free during the project with some alterations; for e.g for one of the room we got high ceiling which was not in the plan. I called Inspired Builders after having a long 8+ relationship with a 1-person general contractor. Basically I was getting tired of mistakes, delays, over budgets and just overall fit and finish despite working with them for many years. I've always had a bias that design build firms were very expensive but I was at the point of needing a change. After reviewing 3 design build firms proposals we ended up with Inspired Builders. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner! They took the stress out of a bathroom remodel. Kept it in budget and on time. The fit and finish was perfect and the 2D/3D designs I received is exactly what was delivered. The trades came in and was very respectful, kept things protected and cleaned up every day. I had constant communication with my project manager, Ben. I would definitely do more projects with them as what you expect is what you get and then some. Excellent customer service. Extremely responsive and timely. I never felt like I had to chase anyone for anything. They really helped me every aspect of the project from ordering materials, getting permits and inspections done. We used Inspired Builders to upgrade a master bathroom, powder room, refresh the paint throughout our entire home and a few side projects. Ben, our Project Manager was exceptional throughout the process. He was always available to us and communication with his team was exceptional. Yes, there were errors & mishaps, but they were quick to address them and always went over and above to fix it. The team was at our home every morning, ready to work and all projects were completed on time as promised. The designer made selecting product easy with minimal stress. Ben and his team made it FUN to remodel, so much so that we continued to add projects to our list. Ben was happy to provide guidance, work with us on the budgets, make design suggestions and set expectations. Our master bathroom is pretty, much more functional, with better use of the space. The new paint throughout makes my house bright and beautiful. My husband and I are pretty particular about our home, the style, noise levels, cleanliness and everything in between. Ben and his team were very tolerant and generous with their time and did everything in their power to accommodate us. We had a few laughs and enjoyed the process of working with Inspired Builders.
