We worked with EDR to completely remodel a duplex into a single family home that hadn't been touched in 60 years. Eddie and Sarmad did a fantastic job in delivering the project. From the start of the design project, they used high quality sub contractors for design, engineering, and all the trades in the house. Fernando, our project manager was incredible. He approached the project with a keen eye for details and took total ownership over the sub contractors. He would stop by almost every night to ensure that the subs were performing their work and not leaving or damaging any other contractors' work. Sarmad is a problem solver. He sees an issue and thinks through how to solve it, then presents clear options to choose from. Throughout the process, we were not surprised by unanticipated expenses - all changes were clearly explained and we had the option to make changes via clear change orders. EDR uses Buildertrend for all program management and billing, which made payments, change approvals, and scheduling tracking seamless. While this sounds like a basic requirement in 2026, not all contractors use these services which just adds friction to the process. We couldn't recommend EDR more for the quality of work on our house, the schedule execution, care for detail, and just taking care of our project. Along the way, we never felt nickel & dimed, and the value of their services definitely exceeded our expectations. read more

We worked with EDR to build an extension. We met with about half a dozen contractors before signing with EDR. We looked for a project manager who was knowledgeable and to the point. We liked Sarmad's communication style - methodical and efficient, no extra words. Sarmad was incredibly efficient at managing our project. He made sure to schedule inspections right as we reached each checkpoint in the construction, so every day was optimized. As a result, our project from demolition to completion took just about 4 months. One aspect of our project that we worked closely with Sarmad on was to customize a computer server closet. Specifically, we wanted the closet to be soundproofed and have its own temperature control. Sarmad was very accommodating in our requests to install soundproofing insulation, and even suggested QuietRock drywall to enhance soundproofing. We also worked with the team to install conduits throughout the extension for future cable runs. Throughout the process, Sarmad was responsive to our questions and our requests. read more

Back in 2021, we started our journey of a full home remodel with EDR. The small team was great and extremely hands-on throughout the process. It took us a bit over a year to get to the demolition stage, and then a bit under a year to do the complete remodel. We took a 1959 built 1000 sqft house and turned it into a 2600 2 story house; we completely changed everything except some of the walls; all the exterior, all the interior, moved the kitchen, moved the bathrooms, moved the garage (slightly), added a second story, redid the front porch. As there always are during projects like these, there were some issues we ran into. This is where EDR shined; they took charge of every issue we ran into, and did their best to deal with everything that came up without nickel and diming us to death. If their team made an error, it was simply fixed and no charge to us. If it was something unforeseen, we worked together to minimize the expense as much as possible. I still can't believe we pulled this project off; we lived in this house for 20 years and it's always been a dream. It's been almost 2 years since completion and every time I set foot on the stairs, a part of me is still in awe that they even exist here! Our experience with EDR was awesome! We are quite pleased with the new layout of our home. Eddie and Sarmad are a great team, plus Dima! They helped us bring a vision to life. They were quite patient through the process of expressing and sometimes changing that vision. They are experienced in working with the city for codes and permitting. The crews they brought in did high quality work. The demo team, framers, insulation, roofers, flooring, painters -- what a wonderful symphony of workers all led by Sarmad and Fernando. We had an entire room re-built, fireplace removed, roof re-done, windows installed, kitchen re-done, floors and paint throughout the house. The bulk of the work was done in a two- month period. We decided to move out for 6 weeks, to help things move along and increase our own comfort during the kitchen work. The team was also quite responsive to any minor hiccups or revisions. We encountered very few issues, but everything was taken care of every time. We found this work to be expensive, but I am so glad that we hired such a professional team, and I do believe that the investment was worth it. read more

Gave them just a plan submission 13 months ago. They were not familiar with the city rules (south San Francisco) and up until today, we went through 3 rounds of submission with the city and Eddie missed basic stuff. Another architect reviewed their work and gave 2 out of 10 rating for their jobs. After 13 months, they haven't still submitted the plans to get permit yet and Eddie doesn't answer the texts or even cares. read more
