We had an ongoing leak from the roof into our living room that even replacing the roof did not solve. The suspicion was that it was from the chimney and I hired Zack and team to replace the trim around it. When they came, they went above and beyond to pinpoint the exact location it's coming from by going on the roof with a hose and opening up light fixtures from the living room to take pictures inside. They were able to find the exact spot and seal it as well as replacing all the rotten wood we had around the chimney. Finally no more pots and pans for us! We are very grateful for the hard work and the dedication that they put into solving our issue. The pricing was very fair as well. We will hire them again for future projects and I highly recommend Zack and team. read more

Nhrik was excellent - He diagnosed the problem, instead of replacing the toilet flange, he discovered a broken bolt and made the fix accordingly - He spent a lot of time re-caulking 2 bath tubs meticulously The price is more than fair. Will definitely come back to Alphabet for help in the future. read more

I contacted Zack and Alphabet Construction after someone backed into our building over a weekend. Zack and crew assessed the situation and was able to repair both interior and exterior damage over 1 weekend. Super responsive, fair pricing, hard working and on-time. Wall repair looks flawless and went above and beyond to ensure no structural or plumbing was damaged. While there, I realized our gutters need severe cleanout (it had been many many years) and it was beyond my capability. Zack was able to fit it in between coats of paint for an additionally fair price. Will be using Alphabet in the future for sure. read more

These guys are outstanding! They work hard! They'll do what they say they're going to do; you can't ask any more than that. We needed a bathroom sink replaced, shower doors, and a new bathroom mirror. They advised what I should buy but I still got the wrong sink, my fault. The day of the install, after realizing the sink was too small, they went to Home Depot and got the right one. They worked late, the wife and I were very grateful. We needed some subsequent fixes related to the project and they returned over the next two days to address it. They're also very reasonably priced. Thank you! We will definitely hire them for more work. read more

Was pleasantly surprised to find Alphabet Handyman to replace a sink and fixtures in a bathroom. They were very easy to work with and were very flexible/sensitive to my needs as a landlord and the requirements of the HOA. They were even very understanding when there was a payment hiccup on my side. My tenant was very happy with the quality of the work and the especially the cleanup. Unlike other companies who wanted to tear everything out and replace with something cheap, Alphabet was willing to repair/replace only what was needed, and not tear out the flooring and custom vanity. Although there was somewhat of a verbal language barrier, communication via text was extremely clear and efficient, and more than made up for any verbal barrier. I already have plans to have them do some work in the kitchen. read more

I had my shower door replaced. They quickly came out to measure for a replacement and gave me shower door options. They also drove to Home Depot to pickup the shower door. Unfortunately, the shower door dimension didn't quite match to the tenants liking. However, this was quickly rectified. They found another shower door from Lowe's and replaced it. They then returned the other shower door for a refund. I would hire again! Great work! read more

Zack is fantastic! We've been working with Zack for years now for many different problems. He's fixed various things, installed ceiling fans, wired and installed outdoor lights, painted, hung shelves, and more. He's fast, friendly, respectful. The work quality is terrific and I feel his prices are more than fair. We'll be contacting him again soon for another project! read more

Zack came to remove a built-in desk. It turns out the hardwood floor underneath wasn't stained, and so he stained it. He took care of patching and painting the drywall, and disposed of the desk parts and cabinets. He needed zero input from me. I noticed he has a high level of attention to detail and diligence in his work. Good price, and quick work. Thank you Zack! read more

We wanted to replace our ailing kitchen faucet. I made an attempt, but I just couldn't get my big hands and tools to fit in the super tight space under our sink. Because the old faucet was out of commission from my attempted replacement, we were in a bind. I called over 10 handyman/plumbing services this morning, and Alphabet came to my rescue!! Nuradil came out this afternoon and successfully removed the old faucet and installed the new one within an hour!! He also provided a replacement drain J pipe because the old one had corroded so badly that my finger punctured it when I picked it up! After putting everything back together, Nuradil patiently waited while we ran water to search for and fix any leakage. We're super happy with Nuradil's service and manners. We would highly recommend Alphabet for handyman services! read more

We hired Alphabet to install a mini split AC/heating system that we'd purchased. HVAC companies charge thousands of dollars more, and won't install user-furnished equipment. Alphabet came through for us and saved us a ton of money. We will definitely be hiring them again in the future! read more

Hired Zack and Ty for multiple handyman projects. One of the biggest job's was re-sheeting my Dad's storage shed. Once they emptied the entire shed, they found most of the structure was compromised by termites. California, go figure.. anyway it was soon apparent the entire shed would need to be rebuilt (except the roof) and was a bigger job than anyone expected. Hold on.. this is going to take a change order for the additional work and Zack was very upfront about the additional cost and materials. What a huge can of termites. They did a fantastic job and even matched the horizontal siding of the house keeping inline with design. Check out the before and after photo's. They changed out a few ceiling fans upgraded to more energy efficiency and swapped out electrical outlets from tan to white. Thank you both for all your hard work! Will hire again. read more

Installed a new vanity cabinet for me and did a perfect job. It was the only contractor that agreed to preserve and reuse the old countertop. (It was an odd size cabinet and it would have cost me thousands of dollars to have a custom countertop made.) They also redid all the plumbing and installed a new faucet, all at a very reasonable price. I told them someone had hung a wall cabinet in the same bathroom in the wrong position. Guess what? They repositioned it for me free of charge! I was more than pleased. They have earned their 5 stars. read more

Excellent and knowledgeable service! The plumber who came out was A+++++, communication with Alphabet plumbing was B- at best.

Awesome service! Great price and they work hard and do everything at top quality. They take Zelle as a payment option. I am keeping them in my cell phone for future projects! read more

Nurik was outstanding! The plumbing work was way more complicated than it seems and Nurik got the job done. The price was very reasonable

Great work, fast and efficient. Only reason I'm giving them a four out of five is just sometimes communication was a little delayed. Highly recommend I will use again. read more

Had a great experience with Alphabet. I hired them to repair a rotted post on my front porch. Communication was fast, they offered the best price of all the companies I contacted and they were able to come out within a few days. They were willing to go through the work to save the old post by cutting out the rotted part, repairing it and redoing the concrete base. They even patched up a hole in the old downspout while putting it back up. We will definitely come back in the future. read more

Great choice for handyman projects. Honest responsive prompt and thorough. Easy to work with dependable and good value

Had the Alphabet Handyman help us repair a couple of doors and install a mirror. They were in and out in about an hour. They were careful not to make a mess and cleaned up after they worked. Really fast, efficient, and easy to work with. read more

I asked to Zack & Ty for help removing 2 old desks and assembling 2 new electric standing desks. They were quick to respond and came in on the day I needed. They set up both new desks nicely, having everything all working, showed me how to raise / lower the desk, and had the electric wires cleanly wrapped along the desks using the provided wire ties. Great service. read more

This review is 3 months late, but still well-deserved. Zack and Kai were both awesome in helping us disassemble, move, and reassemble a very large, unique, and custom cabinet during our move from Palo Alto to San Francisco. This cabinet was supposed to have been moved by our movers, but the moving company brought one person less (the person supposed to disassemble and reassemble this cabinet), so we spent a few days trying to find a Handyman who had experience with moving Murphy Beds as this cabinet was built on a murphy bed frame. When screening Handyman candidates, I was asking about their experience in disassembling Murphy Beds, and Zack gave a clear explanation of how he would disassemble such furniture safely. I proposed a full-day rate for the job, and Zack gave a reasonable flat rate for the entire job. Instead of one full day, Zack and Kai came on a Saturday afternoon to disassemble, and advised me to rent a Home Depot truck (cheaper than U-Haul) to transport the pieces on Sunday morning, and the truck costed me less than $80 for only 3 hours rental time. The cabinet was a unique Japanese tea ceremony room, which can fold up into a wall cabinet. There are only 2 of these built in the world, and we have one of them. It's rather big and heavy, and can only be transported with disassembly. Zack and Kai were extremely careful and wrapped all the pieces carefully in plastic and blankets to keep everything safe. They thought about many more details than I did - e.g. making lifting handles on the largest piece, letting the pieces rest on their feet instead of on the ground when moving them to the truck, etc. Even when we arrived in SF the next morning with all the parts, they carefully assembled everything perfectly, securing the cabinet to the wall studs, centered between the wall outlets to avoid blocking anything on the wall. They did such a great job that I asked if they could help with 4 other small jobs in the Palo Alto house that were left over from other handyman and installers who could not complete their jobs - replacing a door handle, installing a water line valve for our new refrigerator, installing a 220V outlet for the new range, and installing safety clips on our new hot tub cover. For the door handle, I had bought a replacement handle from Home Depot, but Zack noticed it was the wrong type and he went out and bought the correct version from a hardware store to install for us. Zack quoted a flat fee to do all 4 items on Sunday afternoon, right after finishing the wall cabinet installation, and all of that was completed cleanly within the same day. Each day Zack also sent me photos of all the items completed so I could see the result remotely. This was the best Handyman Service I've ever had! Thank you Zack and Kai! read more

Zach provided an initial estimate and schedule. When he had to move the original time, he let me know early enough that it was not an issue, and was even open to adjusting it slightly so we could avoid waking our napping baby. He wore a mask the entire time he was working, even outside, which is something I haven't seen others do during the Pandemic, and he took off his shoes while working inside, even though I said it was not an issue to leave them on. He as very courteous and accommodating. The project itself went pretty smoothly. He put a coax cable wallplate on our wall without an issue. When it came to installing the TV on a wall mount, it seemed like there was in issue with our wall, but he dealt with it in a quick and professional manner, and the TV was up in no time! We even took into account the placement of a larger TV in the future when it came to placement. Overall a very professional job and a courteous person. read more

Hired Alphabet Handyman service for some garage painting plus cabinet assembly. Couldn't be happier with their work. They responded to my request for a quote very promptly, setup an appointment and communicated at each step of the way very clearly. On the day of the appointment, they showed up on time, they were very pleasant to interact with and very meticulous with their work. They didn't cut any corners and went above and beyond my expectations for the job. Their prices were also extremely reasonable compared to some other contractors who were quite blatantly price gouging. I will heartily recommend Zack and his business for any handyman work in your house and he will probably be my go to person for any similar work in the future. read more

we rent our family's home in los altos hills and needed many upgrades within 2 weeks between rentals. this included replacing in 4 bathrooms: lights above mirrors, faucets and drains, towel racks, toilet paper holders; replace garage lights and install 2 ecobee thermostats. we also needed to determine the viability of replacing the shower system in the master bath. this required removing a section of sheetrock in the master bedroom to access the shower plumbing. i've done a fair amount of construction and am a reasonably skilled diy'er. i just didn't have the time for all this work. i prepared a document showing all the work including the new parts. i contacted about a half dozen "handymen" and construction folks on yelp. half never responded. the few respondents took quite a bit of time. Zack, Alphabet Construction owner, responded in a day with complete pricing on all tasks. the pricing was very fair. they showed up on time and quickly finished all tasks. their work quality was impeccable. it's a nice house and we don't wear shoes. their professionalism and cleanliness were outstanding. we analyzed the master bath shower and Zack recommended several systems. we were under a tight schedule to show the house to prospects. they quickly replaced the shower nozzle with a Grohe rain shower system with a secondary handheld shower. this required removing a large section of sheetrock, cutting away the old copper pipe and installing all new plumbing to support the control for the 2 nozzles. their plumbing work is outstanding. they are certified plumbers. their sheetrock work is impeccable. it rained hard during this process and we noticed a leak in a deck that also was the ceiling for the garage. Zack and team quickly determined the entire deck required replacement. this was a fairly large area, about 10 x 20 feet. they had to install all new plywood underlayment, pour a concrete layer and then lay new 2 x 4 foot porcelain tiles. i've done this in the past and i was amazed at the quality of their workmanship and attention to detail. there is no way this new deck will leak. again, they had to work fast and effectively to meet tight timelines. they also replaced a water heater recirculation pump they discovered was inoperable. Zack has a general contractor's license and his team can completely remodel homes and build entire new homes. Their work quality, attention to detail, and professionalism are world class. His prices are very fair. We are very fortunate they worked on our home. you should look no further than Zack's team for any home improvement. read more

Zack was super helpful. Provided a reasonable estimate and helped replace a bathroom exhaust fan motor assembly. In addition, he helped replace a outlet switch combo, but I was grateful he was patient and let me run to home depot for parts. He also helped us with a air duct ceiling register vent that wouldn't screw in. The problem was there was nothing the screw could bite into behind the drywall. With a bit of McGuyver, he managed to get it fixed without needing to do some serious. Very friendly and I'll definitely be reaching out to him for future projects! read more

Zack and his teammate are fantastic! They spent two whole days to help me install all my new furniture, some even with no instructions available. They put the scratched sofa legs to the backside so that it won't show. They fixed two broken drawers. They also helped me to secure my tall bookshelves and wardrobes to the wall, and they did great! They are just so professional and thoughtful. I highly recommend them and I'll definitely work with them again in the future! read more

I needed a couple things around the house done (removing a couple window AC units, patching holes & painting over them). Zack was quick to respond via Yelp message to lock in a date and estimate for the work. He made my life as a single mom with an infant so much easier with the quick work and even went the extra mile to pick up any debris from the work (ex: shedding from window insulator tape, taking storage box packaging out, etc). I will 100% hire him again in the future. read more

Used their services to hang my tv and assemble a new bed and a dresser. Called for a quote first to compare the prices. The price was pretty reasonable, made reservation. Love people who know what they are doing! Will definitely recommend and call them again when needed. read more

We had a series of projects including replacing a couple of tiles on a bathroom floor, replacing smoke detectors throughout the house and repairing a sliding screen door that over the years no longer was balanced and could not be operated properly. Work was done by Zack and his colleague according to their estimate and they scheduled the work very promptly.
