In early July 2026 we had Proper Hour Home Services help us with pre-installation work for a new refrigerator. As always, Proper Hour Home Services were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job at a great price! Our new fridge was too tall for our cabinet space, so needed to cut about 1 1/4 inches from top lip. We also had a long copper tubing run connecting filtered water to our old fridge ice maker. Since Lowe's installation doesn't work with copper tubing and requires a valve to hook up the ice maker line, we needed the copper tubing cut and a valve added to the new end. Ihor from PHHS came and did an excellent job on both tasks! He was able to detach the cabinet lip and cut it outside, so we never heard the loud sawing we expected :-). After installing the cut lip, it measured just right with a little room to space. He cut the copper tubing very cleanly after turning off the water main and installed and tested the valve he bought at Home Depot. Ihor also put down plastic before the work and did a great cleanup job. Our new fridge fit perfectly in the cabinet space and Lowe's installers had a very simple, smooth hookup of the ice maker line to the new valve with their ice maker line installation kit we bought with the fridge. I first hired Proper Hour Home Service for a shower door installation, and they did a great job, so I reached out to them again to replace all of the interior door slabs in my house. Replacing just the slabs takes quite a bit of precision and skill, so I was really glad they were willing to take this project on. There was some confusion at the beginning around scheduling, but once I brought it up, they adjusted quickly. Samuel then took over the project, and that really changed the experience for the better. We also ran into a misunderstanding around the scope of work and an additional cost that initially felt much higher than expected, to the point where I was considering cancelling the project. Samuel took the time to listen to my concerns, work through everything with me, and come up with a fair price. When the final scope ended up being a little less than anticipated, he even reduced the price further, which I really appreciated. Service One day we discovered discoloration with the baseboard in one of our rooms. We decided to get some professional opinion to see why that was. I reached out to a few services, but Proper Hour Home Service was able to come and perform a proper inspection. During the inspection, they were able to isolate the cause. It was due to gaps in the wall leading to moisture seeping inward. They were able to provide a solution, and schedule for the repair. We had to reschedule a few times, but they were responsive in their communication. Miscellaneous Proper Hour Home Service was responsive, professional, and easy to work with. They identified and completed the repair in a reasonable time frame. There are parts that I felt they did a bit of a rush job, such as the paint. They were also having issues with accepting credit cards, which made payment a bit of a hassle. But all in all, it was a good experience working with them. Sent an initial quote despite me providing all the info and then when I got into the specifics it was 3x the price quoted .. competing quotes with other vendors are 1/3 of their price. Unless u want to be robbed in daylight ... avoid ... this service is overpriced and I guarantee you will be overcharged ... get competing quotes before you go with this vendor Update 1: like the vendor said service was not actually performed ...because I decided not to go with that out of the world quote ... 3 times every body else's quotes ...but if they are changing quotes and price gouging before the work begins you can only Imagine what will happen when they do the actual work! I had the cutest little cat door to be installed in my bedroom door, but the door had just been painted so beautifully, so I was afraid to "ruin" the door at all, but he did an excellent job and it looks purrfect ;) Phew! 4 appointments. 4 failures. Complete waste of my time. I hired Proper Hour Home Service for drain fix and jetted tub cleaning. What followed was weeks of wasted time and broken commitments: * Appointment 1 (Friday 2p): They cancelled at 12:30p same day due to van issues and they said it was Friday. * Appointment 2 (Monday afternoon): I asked to reschedule to Wednesday 3p. * Appointment 3 (Wednesday 3p): Crew arrived early. They stayed until 3:30p, then walked out without saying a word. Within minutes of the crew silently walking out, the company called me to inform me their technicians weren't "experienced or equipped" for the job, meaning they knew exactly what their crew did and why. They asked me to reschedule, again. * Appointment 4 (Thursday 3p): At 2:55p, 5 minutes before the appointment, I received a text from "Sam" stating they were declining the project because they weren't "fully confident" their technicians could complete the work. Here's what makes this inexcusable: if they knew their team couldn't handle the job, why did it take FOUR appointments and weeks of my time to figure that out? That cancellation text reads like a pre-written template, which makes me wonder how many other customers have received the exact same message. My commute is 60-90 minutes each way. I lost hours across multiple days for absolutely nothing. After the final cancellation, I texted demanding a callback from the owner or management. I was completely ghosted. No call. No follow up. If you want the worst service. Start here! I cannot actually believe this experience. It really cannot get any worse. They arrived at 9 and started working on our cabinets that just needed one drawer aligned. 2 hours later and an office full of oil/WD-40 smell, he was handing a phone to me for speak to someone else because he speaks no English. With the use of translator app, she said he needed to get the part and would be back - He was trying Home Depot or Lowes, for filing tracks. We looked and he had black pieces all over the floor the cabinet on its side and confidential flies strewn all over the floor. Five hours later we called and asked where he was.. Only to be told we need to see if we can order the parts now. We asked if the tech could come back and at least put it the cabinet and contents back.. MIA - Nothing and after scrubbing his black fingerprints off of the drawer, files, and picking up all of his broken parts. WE HAVE A NON WORKING DRAWER and now a day later, he shows up at our business, empty handed to help. How could someone have over 600 hundred positive reviews and perform like this?
