I reached out to a few services, but Proper Hour Home Service was able to come and perform a proper inspection. During the inspection, they were able to isolate the cause. It was due to gaps in the wall leading to moisture seeping inward. They were able to provide a solution, and schedule for the repair. We had to reschedule a few times, but they were responsive in their communication. Miscellaneous Proper Hour Home Service was responsive, professional, and easy to work with. They identified and completed the repair in a reasonable time frame. There are parts that I felt they did a bit of a rush job, such as the paint. They were also having issues with accepting credit cards, which made payment a bit of a hassle. But all in all, it was a good experience working with them. I had the cutest little cat door to be installed in my bedroom door, but the door had just been painted so beautifully, so I was afraid to "ruin" the door at all, but he did an excellent job and it looks purrfect ;) Phew! Proper Hour Home Service did 2 repairs for us in Oct '25 and we found they get back to you right away, their rates are very reasonable and their work is excellent! First they replaced our attic gables mesh which were torn allowing a single rat to get in back in Jan. They replaced the mesh from the inside for all 3 gables with sturdier, fireproof mesh. It was a hot, hard job since we have blown-in insulation. Their work saved us a chunk of money compared to other quotes for replacing the gables entirely from the outside due to the insulation. Arkadiy did a fantastic job both replacing the mesh for the 3 gables and cleaning up afterwards! A couple weeks later, on short notice, Arkadiy returned and replaced our kitchen sink's faucet with a new faucet we purchased. This replacement was long overdue and it was clear our old faucet could break at any moment. We greatly appreciated Arkadiy checking with us about the handle positioning before completing the installation which he did very efficiently. In a surprise bonus, he took our old faucet! When I asked about the loose tile, the technician stated that the wood underneath was bad. I tried to understand how he assessed that -- whether he had pulled up the tile or gone under the house to inspect -- and he said no to both. I contacted Proper Hour Home Services due to their positive reputation on yelp. I noticed immediately how responsive they were -- replied within minutes of reaching out! They asked for some pictures, gave me a quote including a breakdown of cost for each part of the job, and let me know how they planned to deal with it. All over text messages within the first hour of me reaching out! A technician came out and worked diligently on my tasks. He determined that my leaky filter was due to a crack in the housing (and showed me where the crack was located), explaining that the filter itself needed to be replaced. He helped me get in contact with his company, who explained the changes to our original quote necessary to account for a full filter replacement. All charges were very reasonable. The technician completed all tasks that first day except for the water filter replacement, and that was only because I needed to order the water filter and wait for it to be delivered. Once it was delivered, I contacted Proper Hour Home Services and set up a time for the technician to return to complete the job within the next day. The technician returned as scheduled and completed the job as expected, and the final results are great! There were no surprises at all in the billing. The company explained that the quote was for labor only; necessary parts were extra. After the service was done, I found the parts costs to be reasonable as well. So overall cost was what I expected, and service was absolutely performed to my satisfaction. It's worth noting that the technician who came to do the work was less experienced in speaking English, but we were able to communicate just fine because he arrived with a translation app on his phone that we were able to use as-needed without issue. This company will get the work done as explained and will check back with you to ensure all was done to your satisfaction.
