We approached Payman from Bay Area Design & Construction based on our family friend's excellent recommendation. Our project was not too big but very time sensitive. Payman is a thorough professional and gave us very nice ideas on how to go about it. Bay Area Design & Construction recently completed a total rebuild of our home, and it turned out incredible! Our project was pretty complicated because we worked with a separate architect and landscape designer, and Payman's team had to coordinate with both. We also selected some specialty materials, which at times needed different installers. Darío and Gino were always there in person to support us and make sure all of the separate parties worked together smoothly. They responded immediately whenever we had questions or concerns. Payman made on-site recommendations to make the house more comfortable for us to navigate as we get older. They were also very patient with us when we took extra time to make decisions or work with vendors they weren't familiar with. When there were hold ups with the city, Payman used all of his contacts to speed things up for us. If I could give Bay Area Design and Construction six stars, I would. This was the first time I actually enjoyed working with a contractor - Payman and the rest of the team were a pleasure to work with. We did a major remodeling work on our house - completely redid four bathrooms, kitchen, two fireplaces in family and living rooms, floors, tons of plumbing and electrical, all paint and just about everything else. I could go on and on about the quality of work, but just look at the pictures - everyone said that's the best-looking job they ever saw - both the craftsmanship and the way everything turned out. That's the #1 thing that, I believe, sets them apart from others - their folks and people they bring are true craftsman that do an impeccable job - tile and kitchen surfaces, carpentry, floors, and everything else were done incredibly well. Another positive was the way they handled complications that inevitably happen during any large project - nothing ever goes 100% according to the plan, and no large and complex task is ever 100% perfect on the very first attempt. There was nothing major, but there were minor hiccups, scheduling complexities because of the COVID and supply chain issues, we changed our minds here and there (I suppose everyone does occasionally) - they handled everything with ease and utmost professionalism. Before this project, we had no experience with rebuilding/remodeling. We interviewed many contractors before going with Payman and the Bay Area Design and Construction team. Payman met us multiple times to answer our questions about the project. We did not feel rushed to get into a contract with Payman during this time. I'm not sure how much more I can add to the reviews that Payman and his team already have but I'll try. My wife and I had heard endless stories about how contractors do a great sell up front and then leave the homeowner with a disaster. I am pretty handy and have a slightly elevated knowledge of construction based on the work I personally needed to do on my home in the past because the electrician and window companies that we used years ago left us with a mess. For our full home remodel, we interviewed a handful of contractors and chose Payman based on the quality of Payman's work that I witnessed during the remodel of a neighbor's home. I noticed that his guys all wore the company uniform and they showed up each morning at 7am on the dot. My neighbor raved about them. Even then, I was skeptical but we took the plunge and selected Payman. If there are a few things I have gotten right in my life, that decision was one of them. From the beginning when Payman sat with us, he was honest that there will always be things that either go wrong or that we will find along the way. His commitment was that he would always work with us in a fair and honest way and take care of those things. He is a combination of a great project manager who really keeps the teams aligned and on schedule and a knowledgeable guide who worked with us on design ideas and solutions to construction issues that arose. For example, we learned that our architect had misdrawn a wall and it was off by a foot. Payman's guys came upon the issue during the build so Payman met with us, brainstormed a few solutions and we actually ended up with a better design and a great room that was a foot larger. His teams are specialists for each area (great drywall team, great framing team, great painters, great concrete, etc.) They are always the same people so you get to know them all personally and they are the nicest people as well. From Rinat, who knows all things Plumbing, to Miguel, the guy who is a master of concrete and stucco, they are top notch all around. I won't bore you with more detail but I will say this. If you are seeking someone who is trustworthy and has crews that are spot on and VERY good at what they do, Payman is the best I have ever witnessed and never cuts corners. How can you tell when someone is happy with their contractor? Like really, really thrilled? They hire them again for a bigger project. And that's what we did. Two years ago, we hired Payman and his hardworking, dedicated team to remodel one of our bathrooms. It was a very small project - especially compared to the house that he was rebuilding from the ground up just a short distance away - but our project got the same amount of care and attention. To say that we were completely satisfied with the outcome is an understatement. A few months ago, we got the itch to fix up our kitchen and the hall bathroom. Again, it wasn't a big project by any stretch of the imagination, and we had heard from friends that finding a contractor was difficult at that particular time. Nevertheless, we reached out to Payman and got a response very quickly. Even though it was just a week before the Christmas holidays, he met us to go over our work and made several suggestions about where to start looking for materials. Shortly after the holidays, we received his quote that was right in line with our expectations. We didn't even bother asking for quotes from other contractors. We knew that Payman was the one we wanted for the job. In early February the work got underway. For the next five weeks there were team members in our house every day starting at 7:00am and working continuously until 6:00pm. At the end of each day, they were very meticulous about cleaning up the workspace and sweeping up the dust. Everyone who came into our home was exceptionally friendly and polite, and in the case of the plumber, entertainingly funny. Each week, Payman came by to review the progress. Even though he had large jobs up and down the peninsula from Burlingame to San Jose, he paid careful attention to every single detail, even things that we didn't think about. As should be expected with any remodel, large or small, there were some minor snags. For example, the sink that we had selected didn't turn out to be the right kind for our bathroom. It was our mistake, and my wife and I were willing to accept the installation of the non-ideal sink. Payman wasn't having any of that - it had to be right. So we found a different sink that was appropriate for our space, and of course we're so much happier. In another case, our existing dishwasher (which we wanted to keep because it was only about 6 months old) didn't quite fit into the space in the custom cabinets that had been built for us. He immediately offered to replace the dishwasher at his cost so that everything would fit just right. This exemplifies how dedicated he is to making his customers completely satisfied. This was supposed to be an 8 week project, finishing in early April. The work was completely done in less than 6 weeks. The project was right on budget. Our kitchen and bathroom look fantastic and the quality of the work is impeccable. We are especially thankful to Payman and his team for getting our job done so quickly. The project wrapped up just as the countywide shelter-in-place order went into effect due to Covid-19. If the work had proceeded at the expected pace, there is a possibility that we would have been left without a bathroom and a kitchen for an indefinite period of time as construction projects grind to a halt during these uncertain and frightening times. Yet another great service from Payman and his firm/crew. Due to extreme weather in Bay Area we had some issues with heavy rain (broken sump pump and roof tiles). Payman had remodeled our house 4 years ago but as our POC in any construction related questions/concerned, we contacted him to seek guidance (referrals or contacts or ...). He sent his crew to check and fix the sump pump and connect us with a reliable roofer. Also there was water coming inside due to broken roof tiles. Payman's' crew opened up the ceiling from inside to check on anything (like fan in the bathroom) that might be the root cause. Everything was patched, fixed and painted and looks as good as new. The bid estimate that Payman put together was very accurate when all the final costs came through and he was very transparent about all the change orders along the way. Payman gave excellent guidance on where and when to buy all the necessary fixtures and finishes. He made a point to not start the project until the items were ready, this prevented delays and stalling the project. We also passed every inspection along the way. We were very satisfied with the time it took to finish our project, especially considering we added more items to the scope of the project. Whenever an issue would arise Payman would talk me through it during our weekly meetings and he would advise on the different options so I felt comfortable with the decision. Payman and his team are very responsive via phone, email, and text. I requested some special tile work be done on the backsplash in our kitchen and Payman was able to fulfill the request which was greatly appreciated. After project completion, Payman and is his team provided continued support in fixing possible problems and answering any questions. We used Bay Area Design and Construction for a large project in Los Gatos. Our project involved an expansion of living space, a complete remodel of the first floor, relocation of power and gas, and then a complete redo of the entire landscaping. This was a big job. And Payman and his crew delivered. Payman's entire team is great. Our project manager, Gary, was also just great. Between Payman and Gary the communication couldn't be better. We recently completed a home remodel with Bay Area Design and Construction and couldn't  be happier. From start to finish Payman and his team were professional and hardworking, always making sure we (the customers) were in the loop about what was happening each week with the project and the budget. Adding another 5-Star review for Payman and Bay Area Design & Construction. We did a demo and rebuild of our house, and Payman and his team did an amazing job throughout the entirety of the project. We interviewed a lot of contractors before we decided to go with Payman. A few things which set him apart from the other contractors we talked to were 1) How honest and upfront he was about the details of the construction, possible issues and cost overruns (There were other contractors whose pricing changed as we got deeper into the details of various finishes covered by the contract). 2) The quality and attention to detail he had in his past projects (we were able to see the houses for one of his previous clients, and another new construction he was selling). As the project started, Payman was really efficient at managing the project and communicating the details and deadlines. We had a weekly meeting with him to discuss progress, any issues which came up and also a list of decisions he needed from us to make sure the project stayed on track. He is also always reachable and available to answer any questions. His crew was also always professional and courteous and Payman made sure he dealt with the subcontractors so we didnt have to worry about dealing with multiple people. He has good connections and recommendations for various vendors which helped us select a lot of premium finishes at a discount. One example of how he is different from most contractors was this - during the construction, there was an issue with the tile work in one of the the bathrooms which we didnt notice until the entire bathroom was done. Payman actually pointed out the issue, acknowledged it was an error by one of his guys and redid the entire bathroom ( including paying for the new tiles without us asking! ) After the house was done and we moved in, Payman was always responsive and quick in resolving any issues which came up - There are always some kinks to be fixed in a new construction and he went above and beyond at times when he wasn't really required to. I will highly recommend Payman and his team and if we ever did another construction or remodel project, we would go with him again!! read more

We started by interviewing nearly a dozen contractors and decided on Bay Area Design & Construction. What really struck us was Payman's professional demeanor, timeliness, and responsiveness. The goal we had was an addition to our existing home, originally built in the 1940s. We wanted to have the best of both worlds - retain some of the original character while updating the home with modern conveniences. Payman and his team - Alan, Dario, Claudia, etc. were able to help us execute that vision. We are a young family and did not want to be out of the home too long. Payman quoted us 22 weeks and they finished ahead of schedule! (Note: Everyone we spoke with warned us that the project would be delayed and that this schedule was not possible.) We started demolition in January and had many days of rain. The first few weeks, there was not much progress because of the rain. Despite that, his team and various contractors worked as necessary to catch up and even finished early! Our neighbors commented that the team was stellar - professional in when they started work and cleaned up nightly. We were able to see this on a weekly basis with weekly meetings. Payman and his team provided a summary of what was done each week and what would be done the following week. If you like a sense of 'order' or appreciate a detailed plan, then this is the team for you. Our addition was ~500 square feet that included more common area, master bedroom and bathroom. The common area improvements opened up the living, kitchen and dining area. We put in a large kitchen island and 2nd pantry. The cabinetry done by Felipe matched our existing cabinet style perfectly. The team was able to preserve much of our existing stone and did a marvelous job. The electrician replaced all the existing lights and made sure that the wiring was updated. Payman provided recommendations to various vendors for stone, tile, fixtures, etc. This was all very easy to contact the representatives and set up times to view the samples. They vendors had designers who were able to provide ideas and layouts for the work. It does take time, but as they say, you get what you put in. We could not have been happier with the addition.
