If you want the details, keep reading--but I highly recommend hiring this team. My bathroom remodel was completed on July 24, 2026, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I actually started talking with this company almost a year before the project began. Since this was my first major home remodel, I was incredibly nervous and had very little knowledge of the process. From the beginning, the team made me feel comfortable. The contractors were kind, knowledgeable, trustworthy, efficient, and thorough. Communication was one of their biggest strengths. They kept me informed throughout the project, answered every question I had, and regularly checked in to see if I had any concerns or wanted to make changes. I never felt like I was bothering them by asking questions. One thing I really appreciated was that they stuck to the original quote. There were no surprise charges or hidden costs. The payment schedule was straightforward, and the office staff was excellent with billing and invoicing--they were organized, accurate, and easy to work with. The crew also went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. I had a large mirror that I really wanted to save during demolition. I understood there was a chance it could break, but they took extra care and successfully preserved it. That meant a lot to me because I felt they genuinely respected my priorities. Throughout the remodel, they were extremely clean and respectful of my home. They covered the floors with protective material and did a great job containing the dust and mess. I'd recommend remove pictures and wall décor from nearby rooms before construction starts, just to be safe. I chose to pull my own permits because I wanted to save money and also learn how the permitting process worked. While I don't think many homeowners do this, the contractors were completely accommodating and never made it an issue. They worked with me every step of the way. Another thing that impressed me was their flexibility. They were willing to begin the project when I was ready. I'm sure they had their own scheduling challenges behind the scenes, but they never made their schedule feel like my problem. That level of professionalism really stood out. If I had one small piece of constructive feedback, it would be about the design process. Choosing materials was honestly the most overwhelming part for me-- because I had no idea what things should cost or what to expect. I also felt that the designer assigned to my project wasn't particularly invested in helping me through the process. It wasn't a major issue, and it certainly wouldn't stop me from recommending this company, but first-time remodel clients can feel intimidated. A little more enthusiasm, guidance, and reassurance during the design phase would have made an already great experience even better. For anyone considering a remodel, my advice is simple: ask every question you have, no matter how small, and stick with your vision. I spent a lot of time educating myself beforehand. We worked with Casa Utopia to remodel a master bathroom and a guest hall bath; both were circa 2007 and in serious need of an update. Raz is our first point of contact and he is polite, responsive and solution oriented. Ours isn't a big project but the team handled it with professionalism and expertise. Johnny and his crew worked 8-10 hour days consistently, even through weekends, to complete our project. There were no delays except waiting for the city inspection, I think summer/ early fall is a busy time of year. The job site is left organized and tidied up neatly at the end of every day. The details and finishes came out flawlessly, thank you to Kathia for your design support and patience in our change orders. The project cost was not the lowest in the bids we received however the value was great in the level of skilled work performed. Other tips for those starting to plan remodels- some design expectations need to be managed in order to meet CA codes, especially if you haven't had any remodeling work done in a while! Also keep in mind project bids will not include items ordered via your builder team from outside third party vendors and those will add significantly to the final cost if you are dead set on fancy fabrication work ie four inch Dekton countertops. We hired Casa Utopia Builders to remodel both of our guest and master bathrooms. As we wanted high-quality materials and workmanship, I spent some time trying to find a reputable and flexible builder, with experience working with whole slab porcelain, solid material shower pans, curbless designs, licensing, design and a good network of suppliers and fabricators to work with. As these materials are expensive, it was very important that we find good contractors that are properly insured and licensed. Together with their designer Rinat, we came up with a design that met my requirements, as well as good suggestions to improve the design and alleviate costs by introducing us to new suppliers and options. The 3D renders were very accurate at predicting what the final project eventually looked like. The project proceeded in a streamlined manner, with the only delays associated with booking appointments for city inspections and some delivery delays of materials, both of which were not the responsibility of Casa Utopia. Casa Utopia was able to coordinate and work well with our glass installers to ensure proper drainage was supported. The team hired cleaners to ensure the worksite was tidy and clean and ready for use. Communication was frequent, prompt and professional, making project execution very efficient. The construction crew of Pablo and all his team, as well as the project manager, Raz were always very accommodating, professional and hard-working. Any requests we had were responded to within a day. They were extremely professional throughout the design to build process and beyond patient with our change order, material delays and frankly excessive attention to detail. We recently moved into a home that was built in 1977 and apart from some appliances, almost everything was original. We were in store for a huge home improvement project. We needed to redo: all the floors, the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, living room, family room, exterior/interior paint, windows, and fireplace. We meticulously searched for a contractor. We messaged 8 and met with 4. Casa Utopia instantly stood out due to their professionalism and attention to detail. In terms of cost they were somewhere in the middle but it still felt fair and reasonable. It also felt justified based on past projects they had shown us. They do amazing work! They have interior designers (shout out to Rinat) that work with you to customize each space to your liking while providing their professional input when needed. It is now two weeks out from Casa Utopia completing our home remodel project. We are absolutely delighted with the work and outcome. The scope of our project went from simple hardwood floor replacement and painting of three rooms, to a complete bathroom remodel which included the relocation of water supply and drains. Raz was our Project Manager. He maintained open lines of communication, explained every step, and kept the project moving. Previously, our other bathroom remodel took 10 weeks (different contractor). Raz had this bathroom project finished within 4 weeks (with an additional week for the flooring replacement of the other rooms). We never felt this was a side project for them. The team was at our house every morning at 8am, and put in solid hours to get our project completed. As for quality, things I notice, all the grout lines are straight (wall and floor), the hardwood flooring was cut evenly (no jagged edging), texturing of the walls matches the walls that were not modified. We have consistency throughout. We need to also mention and thank Nicole, who was our designer. She was very patient every time we changed our mind on a design element. Her quick turn-around on the CAD drawings helped my wife visualize the final project. This gave us the confidence that we were not going to regret any aspect of the final product. We had two bathrooms remodeled recently with Casa Utopia and had Orel (David)'s as our project manager. Orel was super patient with us and always took the time to explain things that were going on and I actually learned a lot through the process as well. Here are the important things:  - Project was always finished within the time that he mentioned in the proposal (make sure to walk this through)  - We always passed inspections - Caught a bunch of things that other contractors probably would've missed and gave us really solid suggestions along the way that I think ended up making our bathroom so much more beautiful than expected.  - Responds really quickly and is almost always available for a call and if not, he'll call you back right after.  - We are also a no-shoes household and his team went above and beyond to make sure that they honored and respected that. He caught a bunch of little things that other contractors probably would've missed and gave us really solid suggestions along the way. - No construction comes without any curveballs and he made sure any time something like that popped up, it was handled as soon as possible even if it was on a weekend.  - Any time there was an issue, he had a person he could refer us to or he had a person he could bring in to fix it.  - Invested in a thorough walkthrough to make sure we were happy with the final product. Both bathrooms turned out amazing, and we're really happy with the quality and care he put into the project. Definitely want to recommend Casa Utopia but also want to highlight that Orel (David) would be someone we'd recommend to work with. I'm going to be honest, they're not going to be your cheapest choice but it's so worth it and it's really good value for what you get - they include design, full-stop shop and one person to just manage everything. Imagine fixing this and that issues yourself and then having to interview one person for every single little job and lots of them have a minimum. In the end, I feel like doing it that way would've just made things more expensive. They handled the permits directly also. They won't do work that requires a permit, unpermitted which was important to us because there's so much liability that comes with that no matter how often people do this in the Bay Area.  They don't just do bathrooms. They do other things too. Next time, I might want to do my kitchen and I'll probably do it with Casa Utopia and with Orel. read more

"I can't believe Elior built us this great space!" said my 8-year-old son. Thanks to our project manager (PM) Elior, our family is now enjoying a beautiful new home addition. Adding space to our home has been a dream for me and my husband for the past 8+ years, but the sheer amount of work, time, and cost always felt so daunting. We have Elior to thank for walking us through every step of the process and for delivering us an end product greater than what we could have imagined. My husband and I can be very..."particular" people, often noticing things that the naked eye doesn't catch. :) For this reason, Elior's attention to detail was a great match for us. Whenever we brought something up, he never made us feel like our concerns were silly, but addressed each and every item. Many times I saw him looking at an area of the home during construction, and he would say, "I don't like this here... I'm going to have them fix it," and he would! Sometimes my husband asked him to do something that was recommended on youtube, and he would do it how we asked. One time I told a friend that a worker was going to come by to fix one squeaky tile, and she was shocked and commented that our PM must be so detailed. I deeply appreciate Elior's level of care and concern for our project, as though it were his own home. One instance to note was when we ran into an issue with the pre-finished wood floor that we purchased. Once the flooring worker started to install it, he realized there were small hairline gaps between the planks and told us he couldn't continue. To this day I am thankful that they raised this issue. Even though it set us back 3-4 weeks, we resolved the issue by purchasing unfinished boards and Elior repeatedly told us that the most important thing was for the work to be done right. We love our flooring now and I know we would have regretted it if we had gone with the original boards. Perhaps a different angle to this review is Elior's concern for the workers themselves. Many specialized groups were utilized during our project (ie framing crew, flooring crew, electricians, tilers), and Elior showed kindness to each worker, respecting them as individuals. He would talk kindly to them (firmly and direct if needed), but I also saw him buy the workers lunch, bring them cold drinks, celebrate passed inspections with them, etc. Once Elior even bought someone a birthday cake to celebrate his birthday. "We are all family," he said. I never would have thought about this aspect of the working relationship between PMs and workers, but I am so grateful that we went with someone who treats those around him with kindness. Throughout our project there was a steady flow of communication: there was a constant thread between Elior, me, and my husband. He addressed every concern we had and never ghosted us. People had warned us that at the end of projects, people will often get ghosted for all of the final touch-ups and fixes. Elior NEVER ghosted us. I spoke to several GCs about doing remodeling and repair work for our new home. I knew Elior was the right guy for the job when I proposed replacing the gas heater with an electric heat pump and he told me, "there's no need to do that right now, the one you have is brand new, among the best available, and highly efficient, we would just turn around and sell this to another customer at full price." That's when I saw he wasn't just interested in his own bottom line, but in helping me get the results I wanted, in spending my money sensibly, and in being a real partner to help us through the long process of getting all the work done. These guys are fantastic, not just in the quality of their work, but especially the quality of their communication. The major remodel we wanted to have done was the removal of a load-bearing wall between our kitchen and dining room -- this project took almost two months from start to finish because of the requirements for step by step inspections and additional support to be added to the house, but we always knew where we were. The other work we requested (some rewiring, roof replacement, carpets converted to flooring) was completed so quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly that I can gladly report that we are totally satisfied with it. We contracted Casa Utopia for a maior renovation (complete kitchen remodel, addition of another bedroom, flooring, upgraded electrical) of our SFH in 2024. They understood our requirements and budget and came up with architectural and structural design plans. In this process they were very patient and refined the plans until we were completely satisfied. They also helped us with getting the required permits and design approval from the city.We also had help from their in house interior designers who recommended finished materials(flooring, cabinets, paints, hardware) and sourced the them from reliable vendors. Once all permits were available the team at Casa Utopia were very efficient in implementing the design. I came to know Casa Utopia through the online search. After I put in my request, the office manager immediately set up an appointment. Elior came and we discussed our new room extension & outdoor deck project. We talked about what we want in our remodel project, and Elior gave us his opinion and feasibility in term of the work and budget. We decided to go with him after we interviewed 5 contractors. Elior is great to work with and transparent about the steps involved in the process. We went through the architecture design with his architect team, the permit submission & approval, and the actual remodel work. I hired Casa Utopia to do an entire remodel of my condo in SF, including total bathroom remodel, new electrical, flooring, and plumbing. They were excellent! I am in a condo building, and they were quite helpful in working with my HOA to submit the application for the changes, worked with the city on all permits, and were incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. Their subcontractors were highly knowledgeable and produced a high quality work product (the design was very high end, and they had no problem meeting this high standard). In particular, I would call out Gosia (admin / contracts) and Raz (proj mgr), who were outstanding!
